Tarkan Translations edit

Thanks for your input but please don't take away translated titles, they have been there for along time and are now official titles - well-known by everybody. Especially the title you removed was also accepted by Tarkan's official site itself. Thanks again for your effort. 82.145.233.47 19:19, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I apologise for the mistake. It was the IP number just above yours. Appologies for bothering you. 82.145.233.47 19:35, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Azerbaijanis edit

Hey KillaShark,

We've both been reverting these anonymous editors who keep pushing the fact the the Aeris aren't a Turkic people. What's up with that? I've heard some people say this before, but the Turkic peoples article clearly has them on the list. I was just wondering if you knew why people believe this. --Khoikhoi 08:09, 16 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hey no problem, I see what you mean. Is it true that people that speak Azeri can understand Turkish? --Khoikhoi 08:41, 16 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hmmm, interesting. The only language I known is English and I speak un pequeño (a little) Spanish. Yeah, not bad! :) What about Yakut and Dolgan? Those groups are pretty far away from Turkey and Azerbaijan. --Khoikhoi 03:43, 17 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Interesting that at the website they show northern Iraq as being Turkic, because of the Turkomans, but the area is actually mostly inhabited by Kurds. By the way, in response to your comment here, you could try Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. However, they will probably reject it right now because there isn't any edit warring going on at this moment. Try going there when things start up again. --Khoikhoi 07:11, 17 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hunmagyar.org is a really great website, it's been in my bookmarks for years. You know the webmaster has edited Wikipedia? He discusses things at Talk:Turan. But anyways, the procedure is to go to WP:RPP, but as I said, they'll probably reject it because there isn't any edit warring going on right now. Yes, semi-protection is a good idea. You or I could request that when the vandals return tomorrow. What do you want me to try out? They probably won't agree to protect the page. --Khoikhoi 07:36, 17 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Request edit

Hey man, would you be able to double-check if all the population numbers (in the 2nd paragraph) of the Turkish Cypriots page are correct? A lot of them are uncited. Thanks. --Khoikhoi 04:45, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, thanks. BTW, out of curiosity, what nationality are you? --Khoikhoi 17:08, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ah, cool. I'm American. --Khoikhoi 00:42, 1 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kosovar Turks edit

Dont make any prejudgements. I dont bear any resentment and I dont see why are you accusing me for POV and vandalism. Well internet isnt only source of information, but this is what I am going to do scan u the page where I have 1981. census data. I hope thats ok. Luka Jačov 14:30, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Last census in Kosovo was in 1991. but it was boycotted by great number of people in Kosovo and as that unreliable. Ofcourse we could expect growth but not 4 times in last 25 years. Also check this link [1]. I ll scan my data soon. Luka Jačov 15:01, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, do you have any refernce that Turks had such a big natality in last couple of years. You dont. Actually you are sticking to one news article which is pretty much unreliable source. Luka Jačov 15:25, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

On Güler Sabancı photograph: If you think leaving certain stuff is dangerous, don't indicate it with a heading that says "leaving this stuff is dangerous". :) Just kidding. Armenian Genocide edit

What are we going to do about this guy? He just strategically placed a link to photos of the genocide in the introduction. What he's doing is POV-pushing. —Khoikhoi 04:26, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome. I've tried to exlpain to this guy what WP:NPOV means. It is not Wikipedia's job to take sides as you know already. He just moved Ottoman Armenian casualties to Ottoman Armenian victims. See this. —Khoikhoi 04:38, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sure, leave a message on this talk page. I'm trying not to get into edit wars, so we can just contact other users to help us out if this continues. —Khoikhoi 05:00, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Careful not to break the 3RR however. —Khoikhoi 05:08, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hehehe. :p Looks like he's now added another POV paragraph, so it's time either to contact the admins or other users. I say the admins. —Khoikhoi 05:11, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sure, I'll contact as many as I can. :) —Khoikhoi 05:23, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:Yoruks.jpg edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Yoruks.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Fut.Perf. 14:35, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Hulya Kocyigit.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Hulya Kocyigit.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 12:18, 12 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
