Hi Kharkiv, are we going to get started on WP:rollback tools soon? <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 16:19, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

@Some Gadget Geek: I don't know, with your recent block, and all... we'll see. Kharkiv07 (T) 17:55, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy

Hello Kharkiv07 (T)! I have added myself to be your student list at Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy What's next? MarkYabloko 14:15, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

@MarkYabloko: Let me take a quick look at your previous work to get an idea where we need to start, and then I'll set up a page for you. Kharkiv07 (T) 14:18, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
Sure Kharkiv07 (T), take your time (not that my contribution list that long), but I am a quick learner. MarkYabloko 14:25, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi Kharkiv,

I've just got my block lifted. Would it be possible for you to continue watching my anti-vandal activity so that I can get an endorsement for rollback rights once I'm ready for it? Thanks!

<<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 20:58, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

@Some Gadget Geek: Keep doing counter-vandalism work for a little bit, then we'll evaluate. Kharkiv07 (T) 22:10, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
Just so that you're aware - I'm also doing anti-vandal work on other languages of Wikipedia, for example, I placed a CSD template on es:John stephen grice which has since been deleted. <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 14:36, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
On enwiki, counter-vandalism work on other wikis it not taken into account when granting rollback locally. Kharkiv07 (T) 14:48, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
I have put some more anti-vandal edits under my belt. Do I have to explicitly state them on my CVUA page (which has been archived and could be restored)? <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 20:22, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Re: MarkYabloko

Hi, I see that you're listed as a mentor for this Wikipedian. I believe that he's made a lot of questionable decisions. Please review his edits. ThanksFraenir (talk) 13:36, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Thank you Fraenir (talk) for bringing up this!

Counter-vandalism work

Thank you Kharkiv07 (T) for your feedback.

Indeed, you are right, there were several complaints about nominating new pages for speedy deletions. I guess my idea on what constitute a test page, and what is not, were a bit on the hard side. Figuring out what constitute notability for athletes (13th place!) and some musicians, was a bit surprising too. PamD has provided me with fantastic feedback, and I am very appreciative of her superb comments and guidance.

As far as the counter-vandalism goes, it is completely different story. Haven't reverted anything but the obvious; haven't even reverted repeated vandalism by the same users, as to avoid edit-wars, and out of the hundreds of reverts that I have already done (please take a look) there is no one single complain! On occasion, I posted welcome notes and edit-notes warnings on users talk pages, some of which were deleted and thus opened the question whether this was OK or not. When I had significant concerns, I reported back to administrators, and no single report of mines was declined.

Here are the three things that I NEVER do: 1) I never get involved in Edit Wars. 2) I never be anything but polite. 3) I never engage in arguments with others when insults/ profanity get mixed in the picture. (My silence and lack of response however, does not mean that I don't have anything to say back, or that I agree with what was said).

Thanks again for all your help, and I am looking forward very much to work with you; Especially appreciate your advise and your offer on the new-page patrolling unit. I am all ears! MarkYabloko 15:09, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

@MarkYabloko: I've decided that my standard program may not be the best bet for this scenario, I'm going to take a look at revising it. Hang tight. Kharkiv07 (T) 15:12, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Does this apply to me too (although you archived my page when I got blocked)? <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 22:09, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

Counter-vandalism training

Hi, I'm looking for a trainer for counter-vandalism. The StormCatcher (talk) 19:16, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi CatcherStorm, I'm currently at my limit for students, but it seems like Titodutta might have some spots! Why don't you go send him a message! Cheers! Kharkiv07 (T) 20:19, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Ya, let me know if I can help. --Tito Dutta (talk) 02:18, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Further training

Made into it's own section --Kharkiv07 (T)
Hi Kharkiv, sorry to hear that you're not going to endorse me if I request rollback. Would it be possible to continue with CVUA where we left off, while at the same time finding someone else who will be willing to monitor me and endorse me for (if not grant) rollback when I've demonstrated that I'm ready for it. <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 23:51, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

I'm happy to continue your training, and you should note that it's not expected nor common for endorsements to be made, so if you'd like to you can just go to requests for rollback. We can work on other techniques too, perhaps Twinkle. Kharkiv07 (T) 23:57, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
Okay, I'm willing to continue with training as much as needed to convince an admin that I'm ready to receive rollback rights(although not via endorsement, as you've reiterated before).
Meanwhile, it seems like you altered MarkYabloko's training program; will this apply to my page as well? <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 00:28, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

A message from Eringrover

I just made an edit to Peach Airlines and it was taken down. I saw your message saying that I didn't leave a note as to why I edited it. Can I add the edit again? It was adding in the branding group that worked with Peach.

Thank you, Erin Eringrover (talk) 22:40, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi. As you can see in this edit, you accidentally removed a large about of content from the article, feel free to add your content back, just try to not remove the content. See Help:Editing for some tips. Happy editing! Kharkiv07 (T) 22:44, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

Multiple accounts

I see that User talk:Per procura redirects here. While multiple accounts are allowed in some cases, could you disclose the relationship on the user pages per WP:MULTIPLE, e.g. use {{User alternative account}}, etc. Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 23:09, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Comment from a bystander - It appears that this alternate account's contributions are not distinct from those from his main account. <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 00:36, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
@Bagumba: I was under the impression that an account used strictly as an alt for public spaces would be find with a mere redirect, but I'll do that now. Kharkiv07 (T) 01:29, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

Help needed at DRN

You are receiving this message because you are signed up as a volunteer at the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. We have a number of pending requests which need a volunteer to address them. Unless you are an inexperienced volunteer who is currently just watching DRN to learn our processes, please take a case. If you do not see yourself taking cases in the foreseeable future, please remove yourself from the volunteer list so that we can have a better idea of the size of our pool of volunteers; if you do see yourself taking cases, please watchlist the DRN page and keep an eye out to see if there are cases which are ready for a volunteer. We have recently had to refuse a number of cases because they were listed for days with no volunteer willing to take them, despite there being almost 150 volunteers listed on the volunteer page.
