Welsh English phonology

Hey I appreciate your edits on Cardiff English for my errors (even though frankly it felt abrupt)! I remember a while back when you wrote a draft to rewrite the phonology on Welsh English. I just want to encourage you to revive it or to rewrite it again - if that's a bit hard I can always start one up or assist you! Thanks! — oi yeah nah mate amazingJUSSO ... @AmazingJus: I deleted it because I didn't want to work on it anymore. Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 08:28, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
Alrighty 😉 The already-existing phonology article just doesn't seem to be in complete professional standard. Some of the transcriptions are a bit off! — oi yeah nah mate amazingJUSSO ... [ɡəˈdæɪ̯]! 08:46, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
@AmazingJus: You mean Welsh English? Feel free to fix it. Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 09:08, 6 September 2018 (UTC)

Hello

Hi there. I know you helped me with some other football player in the past. Now I need some assistance for Denis Dragus and Denis Alibec. I really can't figure out how Denis is pronounced in Romanian. I think the accent is on the first syllable (dé-nis). Here, at 0:06, you can hear the commentator say Denis Dragus. This is also for Denis Alibec. Thanks in advance!8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 18:06, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

@8Dodo8: Hi. The accent is definitely on the first syllable. Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 19:39, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
Okey, so that would result in simply Romanian pronunciation: ['denis], right?8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 20:50, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
@8Dodo8: Most probably, yes (though primary stress is transcribed with ˈ, not ⟨'⟩ which isn't even an IPA symbol). Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 22:12, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
I understand. Thank you for the help! 8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 12:46, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

Pronunciation of Dutch place names in Polish

As something a little trivial, seeing that you worked on Dutch and Polish articles in the past, just wanted if you have any idea how you would pronounce places such as The Hague (Den Haag), 's-Hertogenbosch, Nijmegen, Overijssel, Maastricht, etc. in Polish. Thanks! (don't worry, haven't forgot about Cardiff English, will deal with that soon!) — oi yeah nah mate amazingJUSSO ... [ɡəˈdæɪ̯]! 07:55, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

@AmazingJus: The Hague and Maastricht have different names in Polish (Haga [ˈxaɡa] and Mastrycht [ˈmastrɨxt]). When it comes to the pronunciation of the rest of the names, it would heavily depend on that person's knowledge of Dutch. Check Youtube for relevant clips. Kbb2 (ex. @AmazingJus: Oh, the question was how I would pronounce them. I guess [ˌsɛrtɔwxɛnˈbɔs], [ˈnajmɛjxɛn] and [ˌɔwvɛˈrajsɛl] are the most likely choices (yeah, I'm heavily biased towards Northern Standard Dutch/Polder Dutch). Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 12:10, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

a low-mid front unrounded vowel in Korean

Hello. Nice to meet you. I am not good at English, so please understand that sometimes there may be an inscription. As I said, there is a difference between 'ㅐ' and 'ㅔ' in Korean. These sound [ɛ] and [e] respectively. Therefore, this editing is not a problem. You called it Mid vowel, and I want you to explain why it is Mid vowel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seohae1999 (talkcontribs) 10:34, 17 September 2018 (UTC)

Please reply by tomorrow. Otherwise, I'll edit it as planned. Seohae1999 (talkcontribs) 13:17, 18 September 2018 (UTC)

@Seohae1999: Sorry for the delay. The vowel chart in the source shows that /e/ and /ɛ/ do not actually contrast in South Korean. However, per Korean phonology#Vowels, we could add North Korean to both close-mid front unrounded vowel and open-mid front unrounded vowel as it has two contrastive heights of short mid front unrounded vowels. I hope you understand you were also edit warring and should have stopped earlier--right? Drmies (talk) 20:03, 1 October 2018 (UTC)

@Drmies: You're probably right. My apologies. Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 20:47, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
