Blake Jenner

You should not have restored this content ([https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Blake_Jenner&diff=977144299&oldid=977143697 your edit). There are no reliable sources that mention Jenner in connection to this incident. This content violates the biographies of living people policy and consists of original research. If you have any doubt about content for a BLP, do not add it. Fortunately, another editor reverted it. Schazjmd (talk) 12:28, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

@Schazjmd: Sorry! I will surely keep that in mind and won't do it again. Hope that this would be my last mistake. Thanks for the reminder. Happy editing. KRtau16 (talk) 17:49, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

Geo-Political Simulator 4: Power and Revolution moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Geo-Political Simulator 4: Power and Revolution, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Mccapra (talk) 12:11, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

@Mccapra: Ok. I will submit the draft if there are enough reliable sources and citations. Thanks and happy editing! KRtau16 (talk) 04:10, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi KRtau16. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Wug·a·po·des 22:28, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll make good use of the tool. KRtau16 (talk) 22:48, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Respected dear wikipedian

Dear wikipedian KRtau16

Can you please rollback or else copy paste and publish from the below version of oppa Lee min-ho article because the below version is loaded with good pictures and change international fame to worldwide fame because leeminho is popular worldwide nowadays.

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lee_Min-ho_(actor)&oldid=981732182

Many Thanks Jenny116.93.120.231 (talk) 08:54, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Not done 116.93.120.231: Though some images are own work, it does not provide proof or evidence that the author or the copyright holder agreed to license the file, with one image being nominated for deletion here. Therefore I am being reluctant to add those images to the article. And for your second request, International fame and worldwide fame basically means the same thing. KRtau16 (talk) 09:35, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for explaining very clearly about the images but worldwide fame is global and international means two or three countries. thats why i wanted you to change it anyways no problem... thanks again Jenny 116.93.120.231 (talk) 11:52, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

The success of lee's television series globally established him as a top hallyu star and a global celebrity. could you please include the word global celebrity in the above sentence.it has been mentioned in the lead with scmp source added to it but someone removed it so can you add it thanks again jenny116.93.120.231 (talk) 11:56, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

lee min ho hailed as the king of social media in korea can you add this to media influence source below

https://www.thestar.com.my/lifestyle/entertainment/2020/06/20/lee-min-ho-is-king-of-social-media-with-65-million-followers 116.93.120.231 (talk) 12:55, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Partly done 116.93.120.231: I think we should stick with International fame because many countries (not all) are mentioned in that sub section and I do not think that he is popular in ALL 195 countries unless you provide me with a reliable source. Thanks. KRtau16 (talk) 14:42, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Thanks again. - through boys over flowers he is popular in Asia-fact

-this scmp source says he is popular in europe continent through city hunter https://www.scmp.com/magazines/style/celebrity/article/3088074/hyun-bin-lee-min-ho-park-seo-joon-and-5-more-korean-drama

-this source says he is popular in African continent currently through TKEM https://ynaija.com/all-you-didnt-know-about-the-lee-min-ho-trend-nigerian-ladies-are-jumping-on/

thus, lee is popular in Asia,Europe and Africa based on above sources he is popular in three continents is more than enough for mentioning worldwide fame or else fame between continents. so please change it

add this sentence in continued success section- On August 6 2020, Studio Dragon announced their financial performance of TKEM over the second quarter on Netflix with a record-breaking US$135 million in total sales.source below http://www.munhwa.com/news/view.html?no=20200807MW07423210103

in media influence change to be crowned as the Asian male god to was crowned as the Asian male god since he was the winner and past tense.

Many Thanks Jenny116.93.120.231 (talk) 15:19, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Anything related to the TKEM should be on that article. However I am going to request another experienced editor to help me on your request. Thanks. KRtau16 (talk) 15:54, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Thanks I have high hopes you will manage this task you will get some idea from the below version as well how the sources were used

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lee_Min-ho_(actor)&oldid=981752653

Many thanks & regards yours truly Jenny 116.93.120.231 (talk) 17:00, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Continued success section--TKEM is 12th most watched series on Netflix worldwide beating other k-dramas released that year. source below https://www.msn.com/en-in/news/other/the-king-eternal-monarch-beats-crash-landing-on-you-to-become-most-watched-k-drama-on-netflix-in-2020-yet/ar-BB17v1zQ?li=AAggjDC

Thanks Jenny 116.93.120.231 (talk) 17:06, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Being the number 12 most watched series on Netflix is from flixpetrol point system calculation, which was deemed unreliable here: Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 297#Is Flix Patrol reliable? Also, it was #12 on flixpetrol for days only, this is not the end of year never changing reports/charts. It is #21 now, and is surpassed by another Korean series at #11.

As for the sales report, it is already on the series’ page and is not related here. Plus, the report doesn’t specify this series as solely the reason for the sale increase, accrediting the boost of license sales to multiple works such as Crash Landing on You, The King: Eternal Monarch, and It's Okay to Not Be Okay. @CherryPie94: Is it true that this IP User is a vandal or a troll as this user's edit request was reverted by Explicit on the administrator's talk page here?
I’m not sure, we need a user check for that, but if an admin did it it means they know the IP is related but can’t ban it permanently as it is an IP that can change over time. Lee Min-ho’s page did have a high number of sock puppets adding the same things this IP is requesting. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Finrell ausi/Archive and [block log]. Hi, it seems at same time when you were updating Fiji on Template:COVID-19 pandemic data, I was updating for India, so it got misplaced. So, it was unintentional. Sorry for that. - Mayankj429 (talk) 05:02, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Wikipedia not Wikinews

Dear friend. As you know, Wikipedia is not Wikinews. The nomination of SG of Pacific Forum, should be cited within Taneti Maamau only if it matters in the political life of te Beretitenti. Wikipedia is not to resume the news and declarations made and reported but only what matters. Gerald Zackios in my point of view, doesn’t matter enough to be included in this article. Not now. History is always on a longer perspective. Try to read the book An History of Kiribati to notice and resume better view on those topics, Tiaboo,--Arorae (talk) 13:34, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hi KRtau16. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 22:11, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

New Page Patrol December Newsletter

Hello KRtau16,

Year in review

It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.

Reviewer of the Year

John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.

NPP Technical Achievement Award

As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

Greetings

It is not often one encounters a Fijian Wikipedian. It has been a rough end to 2020 for Fiji. Luckily Australia hasn't had a big cyclone this season...yet. Sending Aussie love to Fiji.--CyclonicallyDeranged (talk) is wishing you a Merry Christmas!

This greeting (and season) promotes WikiLove and hopefully this note has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by wishing another user a Merry Christmas, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person. Happy New Year!

Spread the Christmas cheer by adding {{subst:Xmas3}} to their talk page with a friendly message.

January 2021

Hello, I'm KRtau16. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Hermann Kober, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. KRtau16 (talk) 15:41, 17 January 2021 (UTC)

In this case the "source" is direct personal experience and knowledge. I am unsure how that stands in Wikepedia. AAMOF I subsequently saw it referred to, though less specifically, in the existing reference on the Kober page: O'Connor, John J.; Robertson, Edmund F., "Hermann Kober", MacTutor History of Mathematics archive, University of St Andrews. 31.125.76.2 (talk) 17:00, 17 January 2021 (UTC)

Hello. In regards to "direct personal experience and knowledge", that is strongly discouraged as per WP:COI. Anyways, I've checked the existing reference and it is indeed mentioned [2], so apologies for that. I've also restored your edit. KRtau16 (talk) 23:31, 17 January 2021 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Geo-Political Simulator 4: Power and Revolution

Hello, KRtau16. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Geo-Political Simulator 4: Power and Revolution".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 16:59, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. EN-Jungwon 01:42, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021

New Page Review queue September 2021

Hello KRtau16,

Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.

Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.

At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.

There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.

Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:59, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022

New Page Review queue March 2022

Hello KRtau16,

At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.

Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.

In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 813 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 859 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.

This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.

If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 20:52, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter June 2022

New Page Review queue June 2022

Hello KRtau16,

Backlog status

At the time of the last newsletter (No.27, May 2022), the backlog was approaching 16,000, having shot up rapidly from 6,000 over the prior two months. The attention the newsletter brought to the backlog sparked a flurry of activity. There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000[a] at the end of May.

Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size.[b]

In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).

While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).

Backlog drive

A backlog reduction drive, coordinated by buidhe and Zippybonzo, will be held from July 1 to July 31. Sign up here.   Barnstars will be awarded.

TIP – New school articles

Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.

Misc

There is a new template available, {{NPP backlog}}, to show the current backlog. You can place it on your user or talk page as a reminder:

Very high unreviewed pages backlog: 9476 articles, as of 22:00, 23 May 2024 (UTC), according to DatBot

There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.

Reminders
  • Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
  • If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.
  • If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
  • To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
Notes
  1. ^ not including another ~6,000 redirects
  2. ^ The number of weekly reviews reported in the NPP feed includes redirects, which are not included in the backlog we primarily track.
