Have a relaxing wikibreak

Hope to see you around, sometime in the new year. Things are always better, after a dusting of frost and spring dew. Drop me an email, if you need any book suggestions. :) –Quiddity (talk) 21:39, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

John, I wish you all good luck and happiness in your real life and if you decide to return I'm sure that you will find areas of the project where you can continue to make good contributions. Best wishes, --KeithbobTalk 18:18, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
I will miss your voice of experience, and I know you haven't contributed as much lately to the Warriors project, but I think those of us from the project who remember when you were around will miss you too. And of course, thank you for nominating Brambleberry of RiverClan for that editor of the week award: she definitely deserved it and if I'd known it existed, I would likely have done the same. So thanks for keeping the Warriors project in touch with the rest of the Wikipedia world.   I hope one day you will return. Brambleclawx 04:41, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

G'day

You've got a pretty impressive user page. I know Bruce Grubb, I spent some time with him on Christ Myth Theory. I agree with your assessment of him. He was sincere and polite and I never saw anything remotely ungentlemanly about him. I didn't know he'd been driven off. There really is a problem with the quality of argument in this place.

So, you've been a bad boy. Or were you done over? Sorry, I haven't been following it. --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 18:04, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

I just read your ArbCom statement. I hope you decide to return soon. --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 18:25, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

You'll be missed, John. Thanks for being such a great editor. Halo Jerk1 (talk) 01:47, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

Portal:U2 for peer review

Miss Bono and myself have requested a portal peer review for Portal:U2.
We would appreciate any helpful advice at Wikipedia:Portal peer review/U2/archive1.

I would also like to remind all members of WikiProject U2 (and other interested editors) that U2 Live at Red Rocks: Under a Blood Red Sky (talk · edit · hist) has been put up for peer review (PR) by Dream out loud (t · c) on 10 November 2013; see discussion. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance and happy editing,

salad message

Danh108 has given you a salad! Salads promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day a little better. Spread the goodness of salads by tossing one for someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Bon appetit!

Hi John Carter, bit sad to see you retire. You have been a great help to me as a new editor. Many thanks for your fair minded support and experienced eye. Much appreciated. Best wishes for your future endeavours. Danh108 (talk) 19:07, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Spread the goodness of salad by adding {{subst:Givesalad}} to their talk page with a friendly message.

Long term effect on wp

I have really appreciated seeing you support and practical help on quite a few projects around the place. So whatever you decide to do, so be it, just realise that there is somebody down under who has really appreciated the assistance on projects. Few people appreciate that side of things or how it can actually contribute to a solid base and superstructure to the running of the place. (reminds me of a perishers cartoon from 30 years ago with wellington digging in the sand at the beach looking for the machinery of government, sic). For over 5 years I used to hear from otherwise sane people they thought projects were a waste of time. Your efforts proved otherwise. Thanks for your efforts. satusuro 10:01, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
