editHello, I'm Kautilya3. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of military occupations, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 08:27, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
Hi Jean787! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of List of military occupations several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:List of military occupations, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 14:48, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
ARBIPA sanctions alert
editThis is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}}
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
Military Occupation
editI actually just removed the example of Kashmir from that article. It was actually added just a few days ago and I assume it would have eventually been removed. I removed however because it really needs to be discussed more in depth. Just as quick review I can easily find multiple sources that refer to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. I haven't found anything otherwise. I haven't found anything that suggests any international view that supports either position.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 16:57, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
We need to add the example of that Kashmir occupied by Pakistan too, because that's also an occupation! Similarly we need to add Kashmir as occupied by India and China! This is all clear as we refer to the previous or pre-independence state, it was a princely state. Now it's my last request I'll not discuss it further. I hope it will be discussed in depth someday but for now as per my knowledge of history and refering to the resolutions passed by UN and all the treaties and talks about Kashmir give us a conclusion that Kashmir is under the occupation of three countries, India, Pakistan and China. - This, what ever you'd like included needs to be sourced and it needs to be discussed at the corresponding article. I've only viewed a few sources that suggest a partisan view that India believes Pakistan is Occupying it. -Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 01:45, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
Furthermore, you've mentioned Junagadh as an occupation. I find Kashmir no more different than Junagadh. Let's not talk about annexation, that's secondary question, the main thing to discuss is Kashmir holds the same position as Junagadh. How come you mention Junagadh as occupation but not Kashmir. My request to you is if you can't add Kashmir as an occupation, remove Junagadh as well. Thanks. Jean787 (talk) 05:13, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- I've not discussed Junagadh that I am aware of. But again sources and the conversation should be at the article that you wanting to change.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 01:46, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is written based on reliable sources, not on your personal opinions. I have given you a warning above saying that you are adding unsourced content. If you persist doing it, you are liable to be sanctioned. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 01:28, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oh back off.They haven't added anything back since the last time you removed it. They are a new user, give them a minute to acclimate.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 01:45, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
For me the source is itself Wikipedia. Why do I need to add source to a content that's sourced already by Wikipedia? I don't think that I need any other source when Wikipedia itself says "Kashmir was Invaded from both the sides", India and Pakistan in 1947 war! Anyways not discussing it anymore, and that's dear -Serialjoepsycho- for defending me. Jean787 (talk) 04:04, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not a reliable source. WP:NOTSOURCE This all explained in that link. The Kashmir conflict is very complex situation. The only thing I can specifically offer is the Princely State no longer exists.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 16:21, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
