Speedy deletion nomination of John Newton Utica edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on John Newton Utica requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your articles edit

The articles you have created consistently fail to explain why the subject is important, as explained in the policy regarding notability of article subjects. If the people did something important in their life, something with historical significance, and it can be proven via the use of external sources, then it's appropriate for an article to be written about them. But if the only thing they did was exist, which is all the articles claim now, then there's nothing of encyclopedic value there. This is the third separate time I have explained this to you. Clay Faulkner edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Clay Faulkner, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.genealogy.com/ftm/t/o/n/Joel-Toney/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0449.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Speedy deletion nomination of Clay Faulkner edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Clay Faulkner requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.falconrest.com/history.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

October 2015 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Bassaniana Floridana, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. WP:FAUNA says that we should follow standard scientific style for article titles and not capitalize the species. That's part of the larger standard of using sentence-case for article titles in general rather than capitalizing each word. Let me know if you need help renaming this or any other species articles you may have created. DMacks (talk) 04:36, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please also see WP:MONOTYPICFAUNA: if a species is the only one of its genus, it should be a redirect to the genus article. Also, please add categories, and since you are creating a lot of stub articles, please add the most relevant stub template, e.g. {{spider-stub}} You might also check out the resources at Wikipedia:WikiProject Spiders, or the more active project Wikipedia:WikiProject Arthropods. --Animalparty! (talk) 07:56, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please note that while anyone can contribute to WIkipedia, not all subjects deserve an article. Origin of the Hermits friars of the Order of St. Augustine and his real institution before the great Lateran Council needs secondary sources that discuss the book's significance, reception, etc. Please see WP:Notability and WP:NBOOK for guidelines, and always include reliable secondary sources. See also Existence ≠ Notability. Cheers, --Animalparty! (talk) 23:25, 11 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Chris Ramsay moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Chris Ramsay, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
