'Biopics' category of the Carter Family box

Jax,

What is your rationale for removing the "The Carter Family: Will the Circle Be Unbroken" documentary plus the two musicals "Keep on the Sunny Side" and "Wildwood Flower: The June Carter Story" from the 'Biopics' category of the Carter Family box? The documentary is currently available for sale and the first musical is currently traveling to different venues.

Thanks for the redirects

Thank you for adding all those redirects to Shooting of Jeremy Mardis. And that's a clever method of creating numerous redirects to he same article! I'll have to remember that for the next time I'm doing multiple redirects to one article. Thanks again and happy editing. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 05:33, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Dan Johnson (musician). When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. You clearly do not understand what the templates you removed signify or what WP:V and WP:RS says. The images are not enough to signify the content and the user comment in the Facebook post are not enough. I am willing to take it to WP:RSN to determine if I'm right or you are. Feel free to remove it again to have me take it to a wider audience or you can take it there directly. Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:43, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

  • Reply - @Walter Görlitz: per your request, I will leave the tags as they are, for now. That being said, with the photographs on the sites, and the fact that the shows have already taken place, perhaps the section can be revised to state that "In late 2015, Johnson performed percussion in multiple shows with Seasons After". --Jax 0677 (talk) 19:00, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Robert Lewis Dear

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Robert Lewis Dear requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -- WV 02:49, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Garrett Swasey.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Garrett Swasey.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. WWGB (talk) 02:18, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of China at the 2010 Asian Games (A-B)

The article China at the 2010 Asian Games (A-B) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This page is an orphan, a failed and abandoned split attempt. All content on this page is redundant to content at China_at_the_2010_Asian_Games. (I copied Aquatics back to the original article.)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 2014 & 2015 in heavy metal music

What's your problem with hostile edit summaries? For example, If Death Angel and Biohazard (band) cannot be listed in this 2015 section, then neither can anyone else, as they didn't release 2015 album). Death Angel were moved to 2016, because they give news about their album writing process and they confirmed it will be released in 2016. And Biohazard were never added to the 2015 article. So what's your problem? One more thing – Amazon and iTunes aren't reliable sources. So don't add content with whatever sources you find. You should learn how to correctly add content to the table and sources, because whenever you add something, me and other editors have to correct information and fix everything that you add. P.S. if you're going to reply then do it here and NOT on my talk page. – Sabbatino (talk) 11:16, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

  • Reply - @Sabbatino:, there is no music album out there which has a prime direction of being released in 2014 nor 2015. My additions of Death Angel and Biohazard to 2015 in metal were removed, because there was no plan to release those two albums that year. This is why the section should be removed at the end of a given year. --Jax 0677 (talk) 18:38, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Michael Galeota.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Michael Galeota.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

Category redirects

Per WP:R#CATEGORY, do not create inter-category redirects, by adding a line #REDIRECT Category:target category to a category page as you continue to do. Articles added to a "redirected" category do not show up in the target category, preventing proper categorization. What's worse, since redirected categories do not become "red links", editors won't be aware even when they add an article to a redirected category. Please use "soft" redirects instead. They are created by placing {{Category redirect}} in the category page. See Wikipedia:Categories for discussion#Redirecting categories.

Also, WP:CHEAP does not apply to category redirects as the redirects are not maintained in the same manner. While misspellings of an article may be helpful to take one immediately to the correct article, misspellings of categories only tend to clutter a system in which both bots and volunteers must watch out for and correct. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 17:25, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

You are creating more work for everyone by placing templates into category redirects rather than their proper categories. As opposed to article redirects, which will take you to the correct article regardless, items put into a redirected category don't automatically get placed into the proper category. You will find these in Category:Wikipedia non-empty soft redirected categories. Also, unlike articles, one cannot add categories to templates using HotCat, therefore adding categories has to be done manually. If one is placed in the wrong category, it won't be fixed automatically like an article when using HotCat. While bots do eventually take care of miscategorization into a category redirect, it often takes weeks, leaving volunteers to do the work by going into the aforementioned category to ensure articles, templates, etc. are not sitting in an incorrect category for too long. Category redirects are for those who might inadvertently place something into a wrong category; no one should place articles, templates, or anything else in the wrong category on purpose as it is detrimental to other editors who monitor such things. So please, when putting templates into categories, such as Category:British musician templates, please check that it's not going into a inappropriate category so more work isn't created for others. Category redirects are NOT the same thing as article redirects and more care needs to be taken when using them. Thank you. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 23:46, 14 January 2016 (UTC)

Westlake High School (Texas)

WP:BLP1E tells us not to make articles about people known for one event, WP:BLPCRIME tells us not to discuss by name non notable people accused of crimes. WP:NOTNEWS tells us not to discuss ongoing events unless there is widespread ongoing coverage. School article guidelines tell us not to name non notable staff or students and also not to discuss subjects that are primarily of interest to the local population. As one of the coordinators of the school project on Wikipedia I watch thousands of school articles. I can tell you that a story like this arises a couple times a month. Sadly, stories regarding student/staff affairs have become rather commonplace. I doubt this is of much interest outside Austin. Sad, but true. Please do not replace this bit without consensus, which of course you are welcome to seek at the article's talk page. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 17:21, 19 January 2016 (UTC)

Page moves

You really shouldn't do moves such as this. There is actual page history for an article for Angelic Encounters which is now being inappropriately attributed to Undead. Unholy. Divine.. As mentioned on your talk page before, moving pages just to create different redirects is a bad idea. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 01:07, 19 January 2016 (UTC)

I'm specifically referring to Angelic Encounters, which is not new because it was created in October 2006 and not changed to a redirect until November 2010. That entire history is now incorrectly attributed to Undead. Unholy. Divine. That should be fixed. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 15:06, 19 January 2016 (UTC)

You did it again. You moved a redirect with a long history to something new that has nothing to do with the original article. Now DP discography is now showing the history for Pieces of Nothing (Drowning Pool EP), which has a history dating back five years ago. I thought you were just going to do such redirecting of redirects with only NEW articles. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 04:10, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Samsung galaxy s7

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Samsung galaxy s7, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

Proposed deletion of 2016 North American cold wave

The article 2016 North American cold wave has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

New England is not North America. Western U.S. and Canada have been unseasonably warm. A few days in February is not all of 2016. Windchill does not necessarily equate cold temperatures. Windchill is based on WIND and temperature. A couple day, localized event like this doesn't need a page.

Army of Anyone image

Hi there. Thanks for the image - the article doesn't get much attention from anyone outside of me. But I wanted to double check - are you sure this is a picture of Army of Anyone though? The logo on the drum set really looks like its part of the FILTER logo that Filter (band) uses (Richard Patrick's other band, of course.) Also...I'm not sure that the drummer in the picture looks like most of the pictures I've seen of Ray Luzier, AoA's only drummer...

Anyways, wanted to double check with you and see if you had any more insight on this. Let me know. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 20:21, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

Kate Hanni redirect

Hi! The redirect you've created at Kate Hanni isn't useful. The destination page doesn't even mention her once, so anyone who would find the redirect would only be confused. And even if the page did mention her, they're not exactly tightly related subjects. Thus I think it's better deleted. -- intgr [talk] 23:52, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

Poor band images

I really dont think some of these images you're are very representative of the band. First off, they really should be of most or all members, not just one person. Beyond that though, the file names on some indicate that they are of the person performing their instrument over a decade after they left the band. Is them playing with a different band a decade after the left the band really representative enough for a band article? Sergecross73 msg me 21:47, 26 March 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Marcus Toji

The article Marcus Toji has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable actor who only has had minor acting roles

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Liz Read! Talk! 17:21, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

I don't think his notability is evident in his article. You can work on establishing this but I might bring it to AfD. Liz Read! Talk! 18:09, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

Recreation of page Vietnamese Community at the National University of Singapore

Hi, I see that you recreated a page Vietnamese Community at the National University of Singapore and added a redirect to National University of Singapore. The page was an unofficial student club with no citations and was deleted per an AfD. I have tagged the page for speedy deletion. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 01:12, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Vietnamese Community at the National University of Singapore

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Vietnamese Community at the National University of Singapore, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. West One Music Group

Hi,

I work for West One Music Group for which you created a Wikipedia page.

There are some incorrect details on that page, including the name of the company, which I'm unable to amend. Are you able to shcnage the name of the page from West One Music to West One Music Group - this is an important brand standard of ours. If you are unable to amend, I have requested the page be reviewed for deletion and we will create an accurate page from scratch.

Thanks, Jamie Clarke West One Music Group — Preceding unsigned comment added by JamieWOMG15 (talkcontribs) 14:13, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

@JamieWOMG15: In response to "we will create an accurate page from scratch", please don't, see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. If something is not accurate, the article's talk page (e.g. Talk:West One Music Group) is the most appropriate place to suggest edits. -- intgr [talk] 14:54, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Nomination of West One Music Group for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article West One Music Group is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/West One Music Group until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. NottNott talk|contrib 15:56, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. West One Music's page shouldn't be merged with Takeshi - he is a composer independent of West One Music Group - he happens to compose music that we release occasionally. He is head of the Noise Refinery label. All we want is to be represented properly, as you've seen our US expansion is huge news for us and we want that to be reflected on the page JamieWOMG15 (talk) 09:53, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

Just wish to say

That I agree with your comments entirely on the discussion about whether the article on Reactions to the Death of Prince should be deleted. There is already an article called Death of Prince so this could be merged with this article - which might save readers time as they would not have to click on as many wikilinks.Vorbee (talk) 18:43, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

CN

Please be sure to look at the references following content before marking them with a cn tag. As far as Lyne's middle name, it is in the attached reference in the article lede. Additionally, when you do appropriately place cn tags, please do it in the right location. Thanks, WV 22:24, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

  • Reply - @Winkelvi:, I looked in the references for "Maree", and did not find that name. Finally, a suitable reference was added for her name. Also, when you post on someone's talk page, add a link to the article so that the person knows to which page you are referring. --Jax 0677 (talk) 22:32, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
Sorry you were confused, however, I thought the reference in my comment to "Lyne" would be obvious in regard to the article in question. Besides, you had just put the cn tag there, so I didn't think being overly specific was necessary. Further, the middle name is in the NBC ref cited and attached to the name in the lede. -- WV 22:37, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

Jake Miller discography

Nonsense--on both counts. There is no reasonable ground for a separate discography, and your inclusion of YouTube links is silly. We're not a directory for such links, and you don't need those to prove that they exist. Nor does a discography list a whole bunch of videos; we're not a fansite. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Los Angeles Police Protective League, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Residents. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

As Cities Burn EPs

User:Jax 0677/As Cities Burn EP (2002) and User:Jax 0677/As Cities Burn EP (2003) were moved by someone else to As Cities Burn EP (2002) and As Cities Burn EP (2003) respectively, then nominated for deletion by another user at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/As Cities Burn EP (2002) (2nd nomination), and subsequently deleted. This was all done even though you're an active user (which is not in accordance with the WP:STALEDRAFT guideline alluded to in the move summary), and without any notice to you that I could find with a quick glance. Anyhow, I had the pages re-userfied back to their former location in your userspace (User talk:Malcolmxl5#As Cities Burn EP (2002) and As Cities Burn EP (2003)). Hey there, the two pages have been moved out of your userspace again. Are you content with that? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 21:16, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
