proposed deletion edit

Proposed deletion of Pinocchio frog edit

The article Pinocchio frog has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:DEL7 and WP:DEL8 It is not possible to link this vernacular name with a valid scientific name. Neither Amphibian Species of the World nor Amphibiaweb know a "pinocchio frog" or "spike-nosed tree frog". This page is now nearly eight years old, orphan, and it is likely that by now the species is described, but the vernacular names mentioned were not used, or that the specimen turned out to be an already described species. Even though National Geographic etc. are reliable sources, they are not reliable in proving that the vernacular name represent a valid species.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
