I can understand your position, but I have read the policy previously and felt the links all provided unique content and/or reference.

The content I added regarding domain names was OK'ed by the editor beforehand. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JMS1225 (talkcontribs).

It's not OK with me. Please don't use Wikipedia for promoting websites. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:42, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

These were never challenged on the talk pages of any articles, so I am unsure why you have decided to remove them all now. Are you the editor of all those pages? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JMS1225 (talkcontribs).

No one owns any page. I'm an administrator enforcing Wikipedia's policies on spam and reliable sources. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:47, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK, I understand. But can you please explain what makes this information spam or unreliable? I felt it was all unique content that adds information to Wikipedia entries. Thanks.

The WP:EL, WP:SPAM, and WP:Reliable sources pages explain the policies. The credit card site is a commercial site, period, and blogs are rarely considered to be reliable sources. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:09, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I will re-read them.

Instead of the blog link for the top domain name sales, perhaps I can reuse an MSNBC link previously cited to support the additional information?

The Randal Pinkett interview I provided a link to doesn't feature any commercial content, even if it is on a commercial site. Can it be reinstated? I thought the information on his early business was worthwhile. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JMS1225 (talkcontribs).

MSNBC easily qualifies as a reliable source, so that's fine. Please don't add the credit card site link anywhere, as it's promotional. If it continues to be added, I'll send it to the meta blacklist. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:24, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Commercial Resale of Domain Names

edit

Jeff - the information I added to the domain name page on the most expensive domain name purchases was removed by an anonymous user. I contacted this person directly (waiting to hear back), but wondered if it could be reinstated. Thanks. JMS1225 19:11, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

In which edit was your information removed? Thanks!   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 04:31, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Copied here from my user talk page because I could not tell whether or not you saw my questioning reply.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 03:56, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I didn't see the reply, thanks. Since then I have re-added the content that got deleted. So far, it has stayed up.
