License tagging for Image:Querymark.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Querymark.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:10, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Why this page shouldn't be deleted. edit

Yes, it is a strange page. Yes, it doesn't make sense. But is there any uncontestable way to prove conclusively that any of the things I've posted aren't true? Wait. Scratch that. I submit that my page shouldn't be deleted because I, Darik Houseknecht, wrote it. It's a definition of me, and I am posting it in a forum where any who wish to can change it as they see fit, if they can honestly say that they know more about me than I do. Furthermore, in order to FIND the damn thing, you would have to look up MY NAME- and who on Earth is going to go onto Wikipedia.com and look up "Darik Houseknecht" except ME (and anyone that I happen to tell about this page)? Fine, then. Delete this page, if you would. Destroy the hours of work that I have put into this thing (no exaggeration). No, really. Do it. Seriously.

Everything you've stated is more reason that it should be removed. The page is uncitable, non-notable, and has completely original reseach. PureSoldier 22:45, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I know. That's why I wrote it.

Agree with PureSoldier. When I placed the csd on the page, it took me a few minutes to look over the page and figure out exactly what was going on. This sort of thing doesn't belong in the Wikipedia. ParticleMan 01:01, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Agree with Particleman, but I have to admit the article is damn funny, made me chuckle and spill my coffee with colleagues raising their eyebrows in empuzzlement :) On a more serious note, we have the user namespace for this. FelisLeoTalk! 10:22, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you!

Speedy deletion of Darik Houseknecht edit

A tag has been placed on Darik Houseknecht, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

non-notable.....hoax?

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. PureSoldier 22:44, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

DELETE This page is a vanity hoax about it's author, who admits to writing it on his talk THIS page, which he has made into a defacto usertalk, and fooled others, as seen above. There's no valid reason to save the page, and as it's half vanity ,half fiction (at best), it can't be cited or verified. Salt it on the way out. Given his use of Mainspace talk as a usertalk, the editor should also get a block for disruption of wikipedia. ThuranX 22:58, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
DELETE For reasons that I wrote above. ParticleMan 01:01, 20 March 2007 (UTC) (also Thuranx, I fixed the formatting with your opinion; hope you don't mind)Reply
DELETE per nom (DB-nonsense). Don't agree on the block though. FelisLeoTalk! 10:25, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment Instead of deletion, can't we just move this to the user's userpage and talk? FelisLeoTalk! 10:28, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning.
The next time you create an inappropriate page such as Darik Houseknecht, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. NawlinWiki 14:15, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry... edit

Yeah, well, I should be.

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Ironmanhires1.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ironmanhires1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:25, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Rorshach 300.jpg edit

Image:Rorshach 300.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
