File permission problem with File:BabyZhang.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:BabyZhang.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 20:26, 7 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:RyuichiSakamotoSingle.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:RyuichiSakamotoSingle.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 20:46, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Bagumba. Your recent edit to the page Lance Stephenson appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so I have removed it for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 00:53, 16 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did at Lance Stephenson‎‎, you may be blocked from editing. Feel free to provide the specific source that the trade is official.Bagumba (talk) 00:59, 16 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Jeremy Lin, nothing can be official until July 9 after July moratorium. A gentle reminder to also provide a verifiable source for future edits.—Bagumba (talk) 01:59, 9 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Ron Rivera, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 23:46, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ron Rivera

edit

I saw that you reverted my edit to Ron Rivera but included a source in your edit summary. I went ahead and added the source to the article for you. It's always best to include sources with your edits (especially BLPs) instead of simply reverting and putting it in the edit summary. Sources are much more beneficial when they're included within the article itself. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Happy editing :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 16:56, 29 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for updating this. In the future, please be sure not to leave a bare URL. I've corrected it here: [1] You can learn more at the wikilink I posted here, or simply copy the previous week's source and substitiute in the new week's URL, title and access date. Thanks. - eo (talk)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rich Cho, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Decatur High School. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Charles Tillman

edit

For future reference, the presentation of Charles Tillman's infobox right now is the way an infobox should look when a player is retired. List all numbers the player had, remove stat week and season, and remove roster status and the opening should state "_______ is a former American football player" not retired.--Rockchalk717 06:30, 19 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Time Warner Cable Arena Jeremy Lin Painting 2015.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Time Warner Cable Arena Jeremy Lin Painting 2015.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Ryuichi Sakamoto songs

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Ryuichi Sakamoto songs indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. plicit 14:54, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
