You asked "Why miss out of this book?", in your edit on Almroth Wright and since you asked, I thought I might answer.
The reason I had not thought of including that book earlier, is that I was only interested in the medical history. I began taking an interest when a lot of physicians "re-discovered" his works and warnings so long ago.
His view on Woman Suffrage is amusing today. The book is quite well written, and very logical, which is totally in his style, as was his inability to comprehend why anyone would be offended by his views. His view were logical, after all.
Just goes to show how limited logic can be sometimes, doesnt it?

- Hi Daniel. While I was actually addressing Hugo999 (this being his talk page and all), you are of course very welcome as well, although you seem to have been around Wikipedia long enough that it's a bit belated by now ;-) As for Strachey and Crum, they were British codebreakers. Public transport in New Zealand

The references willo be on the main article ie Trams in New Zealand, when I split Trams in Australasia. Should refs from articles be duplicated in overview articles, when the article on Trams in NZ will include them?
- Well, my personal experience is that anything not very general and immediately followed by a link to the relevant Wikipedia article is fair game for some deletionists, but maybe I am simply getting a bit overcautious. Have a look at what I did in Public_transport_in_Auckland#Britomart_Transport_Centre, with the reference I provide "there" (currently its ref # 16). I basically make it look like a reference, and then provide the links to the articles where the references are located (sometimes this may be double linking, but as I said, I had some bad calls from other people). That should prevent over-eager placing of 'citation required' tags, or deletion. Ingolfson 13:02, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Please read up on how to merge histories, I have spent a little time on it myself. It is not appropriate to copy and paste without the article history, so read up on the merging/moving guidelines. Hugo, I removed your addition about it being a fallback aircraft in the B-29 Superfortress article because you had no reference or citation for it. Yes, the article of the B-32 does say the same, but does not directly reference the statement. the USAF Factsheet does say it was a backup. You could formulate a correctly made statement for inclusion at the appropriate place near the top of the 29 article, and provide the correct ref.../ref clause to the sentence. Feel free to do this. There are many variation of the ref-/ref format or protocol, for websites, for books, magazine, etc. Wiki-editors will use many variations... I try to use the format that is prevelant in the article, to give the copyedit consistancey. Often you will see the footnote with the bracket and http without the ref - /ref in the less-than greater-than carrots. This will have an awkward display. The awkward footnote will not display a line in the Reference section.
As for the material/comment you need to verify or site... go to B-32 article, go to the Factsheet external link to USAF page... see how it is stated .... copy the http link with a 'swipe' and Ctrl-C... then formulate your new sentence... goto the B-29 article and insert it in the second paragraph, in front of the 2nd to last sentenced... then insert the http link (Ctrl V)... and then insert the ref and /ref accordingly. Not good to add a phrase comment after the B-32 "Comparble aircraft" subsection.
Well, thats your ref/ref "101" class. Copyedit in wiki articles will take some time at first but you will find your "nack" after a few weeks. One gets a lot of practice flexing your deductive reasoning skills in learning the many techniques in wiki-land. Hope your having a good weekend. best regards, Lance.... The is a requirement of the license agreement under which we edit, attribution must be given to all contributors. Comments on cryptographic and other SIGINT?
I've been braindumping into articles on SIGINT and MASINT, as well as National means of technical verification -- and a few pertinent biographies such as George Kistiakowsky and Dino Brugioni.
The first two articles are far too long, and I'd like advice on breaking them up -- even though I have more material for both, especially SIGINT. MASINT may be a better first target.
With SIGINT, I don't think it's as simple as splitting into COMINT and ELINT; there's lots of overlap. Any help would be appeciated. Howard C. Berkowitz 15:28, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Locomotive Tender
Hi Hugo999, sorry for the delay in responding to your message - you left your message in the middle of my userpage, not on my talk page, so I have only just noticed it. My userpage gets a lot of vandalism, so it got lost in the edit history. In response to the specific issue you raised, you said:
- Re the Locomotive tender article, I object to your deleting the link I put in on the basis that as it was US practice only so not really helpful. But how many website articles will cover practice throughout the world? I think a regional article can still be useful, and worth linking to.
- The Wiki article itself has no definition of a Vanderbilt tender and I had put in this link as I had linked the article to my amendment of NZR G class (1928). Previously this article red-linked to "Vanderbuilt" (sic).
In general we prefer external links to be about the subject of the article. This means that an article about tenders should generally have links that are about all tenders, not just those in the US. However, I think you are right that we may need to make do with links that are more restrictive in this case. I was too hasty in removing that link. Well in "Whos Who in NZ" (Turnbull Library has a full set) or in Alastair Taylor's "Honoured by the Queen" etc (also birth). Taylor has Robert Martin Williams not Robin Martin Williams so will check him further. And birthdates from Public Service lists in Archives NZ. Well just done it recently - the Category:American Rhodes Scholars was there but unlike all the other nationalities it was not a subcategory of Category:Rhodes Scholars.
But now if you go to Category:Rhodes Scholars you see Category:American Rhodes Scholars as a subcategory along with say Category:Australian Rhodes Scholars. And 4 Americans now in Category:American Rhodes Scholars not Category:Rhodes Scholars Hugo999 (talk) 11:06, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Page moves
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to move Alexander von Tunzelman by copying its content and pasting it into Alexander von Tunzelmann. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is considered undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In this case, you seem to have known how to move a page the correct way, because you first moved the existing article (and its history) from the two-n's title to the one-n title; but then, instead of moving it back the same way, you copied-and-pasted instead. Perhaps you were in a hurry, but it would have been much preferred for you to have moved the page back using the "move" tab.

Within the Transportation Disasters category, accidents are put in the appropriate subcategory ir Air, Road, Rail or Maritime (or for Level Crossings, both!). Hence each subattegory can be looked at seperately, and the subcategories also link into the appropriate main category eg Rail Accidents also link into the general Rail category as well as into the general Disaster category. Re the 2006 Digampathana bombing and 7 July 2005 London bombing not being Accidents, the Category:Transportation disasters is a general category. However while the Aviation and Maritime subcategories include all “incidents” the Rail and Road (including Bus) subcategories are “accidents”. I think all four subcategories though should include all “incidents” even if they are not “accidents”. Anyone looking for incidents involving Buses may not be interested in the cause; and excluding non-accidents from Road & Rail subcategories means that if a terrorist group simultaneously blew up an aircraft, ship, train and bus only the first two would appear in the appropriate subcategory of Transportation disasters.
Accidents only would exclude (1) Terrorism incidents (2) War-related incidents (3) Suicide, Road Rage, Vandalism and any other crimes. Two of the Level crossing accidents (which are both a Road and Rail accident) involve suicides or supposed suicides. Hugo999 (talk) 01:37, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Logically, yes: Railway incidents and Road incidents would have been a better name in hindsight than Railway accidents and Road accidents. But with Railway accidents starting in the 19th century (say 130 years) and Road accidents starting in the 20th century (say 100 years) there are all those categories (230?) to change. How many pages is that? And with Categories you can’t use a redirect as with Pages; every page in that category must be changed. Between 1 and say 4 Pages per year for rail accidents. Less for Road accidents as they are mainly Bus accidents and only 23 years out of 100 in the 20th century. But still say 40 Road accident pages and 260+ Rail accident pages plus amending every Transportation disaster Category since the mid-19th century it would be a massive job! Let sleeping dogs lie? - It would indeed be a massive job, but it would all be done by bots if the categories were nominated for renaming at Categories for discussion, and due to the potential undesirability of categorising deliberate bombings as "accidents", I think that it is a change worth making. A&G Price BRRS loco
Sorry if I have mislead you (possibly readers as well) but The BRRS's Price loco was not a shunter, it was built in a batch of 3 for Ohai Coal Board. It was never 3ft 6in gauge. Well then I will say Locomotive not Shunter. Perhaps they were like the EE NZR DE class, described as shunters but used for suburban traffic (& Royal Train). But was the Ohai Line 2 ft gauge? As far as i know the 2ft gauge wagons went into the mines and were pushed out by hand, then were made into a consist and then the loco would pick them up to take them to the plant. From there the coal was put from the 2ft gauge wagons up into a building that would put it then into the 3ft 6in train and it would go off down the line (Wairio Branch?). This is just my assumption. If a subject A has links to B, then ask why does not B link to A. Although I have no connection to Birmingham, the pages Richard Mawrey and Birmingham City Council now link to each other re local body electoral fraud in two wards in 2004; the Mawrey article mentioned Birmingham but did not link to the Birmingham City Council page! Well "Political scandals" is a standard Wiki category so "Political scandals in Australia" is part of Category:Political scandals by country with 28 countries in it (plus quite a few in the main category, not by country). Hämeenkatu
You moved Hämeenkatu from Category:Streets to Category:Roads in Finland. I have to question this. Hämeenkatu is a street, not a road. It is the main street of Tampere, and by far the most, if not all, of it, is located in the Tampere urban area. It is a way for people to walk or drive within Tampere. In contrast, all the other articles in the category Roads in Finland are about roads connecting different cities in Finland. That's the distinction I see between streets and roads: a street is a way to get around inside one city, whereas a road is a way to get from one city to another. I was moving various "streets" from the general category "streets" to a category of Finland; it is internal to a place too. This could mean creating a category for one page which I have done before! The other way is to create a category "Streets in Finland" which I have now done. Some countries have some streets in minor towns/cities in the "streets by country" category eg Australia with a street in Griffin. While for others like Serbia the only streets are in the subcategory "streets in Belgrade". Anyway every "streets in XYZ" city should also be in the "streets in country of XYZ" category. Looking at Piispansilta it could be classed as a street internal to a place not a road between places too?? Hugo999 (talk) 22:45, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
