Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:35, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:04, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Kuril Islands edit

On Talk:Kuril Islands dispute#South Korean view, there are doubts about whether specific statements in the paragraph you wrote are supported by the sources. Please go there and provide translations of the supporting passages in the Korean-language sources you cite. Quigley (talk) 11:17, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Also, please note that even if you believe you are right, you can't just keep reverting other editors to try to force the information into the article. Instead, what you need to do is go to the article's talk page and discuss the issue. As Quigley points out, we're going to need at least some clarification of what the Korean articles say to verify that the info in Wikipedia matches those articles. We have asked another Korean native editor to help, but any info you have would be great as well. But I need to be clear on the reverting: we have a very hard and fast rule called WP:3RR. That rule says that you can't undo the work of other editors more than 3 times in 24 hours. You've already reverted 3 times in this 24 hour period; if you do so again, you will be blocked. Furthermore, even after the 24 hours is up, you still can't just keep reverting--you can also be blocked for more long term edit warring. At any rate, the correct next step is to go to the article talk page and discuss both the proposed text and the sources. Thanks. Qwyrxian (talk) 11:40, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
