Jabong

Hi. If you're wondering where it is, it's now at User:Harsh 2580/Jabong. I've moved it into your userspace to give you a bit more chance to finish it off. My usual advice is to read WP:CORP, WP:WEB, WP:RS and WP:NPOV. RS is essential - you can't reference to the company site to establish notability. It can be used as an External Link, or to back up some things you say, but notability can only be shown in independent reliable sources. That means no blogs, forums or wikis, no press releases (including sites like PRWire and similar. If not sure, ask me - or for someone nearer to you, User:Yasht101. He's fairly new on WP like you, but very keen and into all sorts of places, and knows when to pass questions on - as do I. (Even admins have to admit they don't know everything about this place and how it works.) Cheers. Peridon (talk) 14:22, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

PS If you don't want to do anything with it and want to get rid, just put {{db-u1}} at the top. Peridon (talk) 14:24, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi Harsh

I've seen your request in Yash's talk.

  • You should add references from other websites too.Only the reference of the official website won't do.
  • You should probably add more detail to the page.
  • Make sure the article doesn't look like an advertisement or something like that. They will be surely deleted and I have first hand experience in nominating such files.

Ah, well

Some you win, some you lose. Not every subject fits. Anyway, I think you've learned a lot and made some new contacts, so it's not all loss. Next time, start in your user space. If you avoid advertising talk, copyright violation or attacking someone, it'll be safe there for a lot longer than it would out in article space. Good luck. Peridon (talk) 19:40, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of game summaries on World Chess Championship 2012

Hey.

I noticed you deleted the game summaries on World Chess Championship 2012 stating as the reason: "(since no other game has summary in the article)". I refrained from simply reverting and rather came to your talk page, but I would like to discuss why you felt the summaries needed to go. Especially since the reason you gave (the other games don't have one) could also be addressed by adding more summaries.

--Minvogt (talk) 12:16, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Re: your reply

Ah, allright, nevermind then. You're right as well, the summaries weren't phrased particularly well. Just do me a favor and keep my correction in mind when you rewrite them, that game 8 wasn't lost because of impending material loss, but because of a hopeless position (which can be checked on the chessbase analysis page)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vinod basavaraj

Regarding Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vinod basavaraj, are you sure you nominated the right article? The contents of Vinod basavaraj, at the time you nominated it, was a single sentence repeated over and over:

vinod basavaraj is an artist and a highly creative person and a business tycoon and a game changer by every means

And the article had already been tagged for speedy deletion. Why bother creating an AFD for this? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:30, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Ashley, Aberdeen

Hi. I have declined your speedy deletion request at Ashley, Aberdeen, as reason G1 does not apply to articles written in readable English - it is for things like actual gibberish. Kemboni

Hi. I'm just letting you know I have declined your Speedy Deletion request for Kemboni. The criterion G1 is for gibberish and incoherent nonsense. It does not apply for articles that are simply poorly written. Please consider not patrolling pages until you have read WP:NPP thoroughly, followed all the links on that page, and familiarised yourself with our deletion policies. I have declined your speedy deletion request at Í Gong, as it is quite clear that the article is about a surname, which means it does have sufficient context to identify the subject and is therefore not eligible for speedy deletion reason A1.

You appear to be getting a number of speedy deletion requests wrong, so I must ask you please to read and properly understand the CSD criteria, and stop nominating articles for speedy deletion until you do properly understand them. Great! :). Sorry for being pestery; I like to nip these things in the bud early so that people have an opportunity to learn from their mistakes before it escalates. I found out the hard way that the community has a very long memory for anything even the slightest-bit fishy; people can get tarred and feathered for actions taken years ago. I'd rather not see it happen to more editors.

Speedy deletion contested: Bahirji naik

Hello Harsh 2580, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Bahirji naik, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7.
