Ashorne Hall Railway

Hi Gurch, I wanted to let you know that I've removed the {{prod}} tag from Ashorne Hall Railway. I've added two references to the railway from journals, and I believe there are several more references to it from the railway press that could be located. Therefore I believe it does meet WP:CSD:A7 and our general notability requirements. If you still disagree, please open an AfD. Thanks, Gwernol 14:10, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism or not? That is the question.

Hi! Article: What Will the Neighbours Say? Well I did not want to vandalize, WHAT I tried to do was fix those ugly glued words!!! One minute later, i figured out what the problem was. The previous editor (NOT me!) used a wikitable template, and can you please look how the article looks, even AFTER your revert! "Horrible" is only the first name. You CANNOT leave it that way. Any word would appear without a whitespace after a hyperlink. Looks there should not be used a wikitable, but you know, I was afraid of breaking any major things! So maybe for the time being, one could insert 'nbsp's. Ugly hack, but at least you can read the article then. {edit} That vandalism you accused me of is a WP issue -- call it bug if you want. It happens when the site after the "submit" is unresponsive, and you kill it by pressing the browser's "STOP" button, THEN re-submit! You'll get a "another user is editing the article" and the article will be cut in half! -andy 80.129.126.83 16:59, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

you deleted Aircraft Scheduling

I agree that my first draft contained too much self serving advertising, however, I still think the content is useful, I've been contacted about how a scheduling system. I rearranged and rewrote it so that It wouldn't be criteria for speedy deletion. I would like to add additional content about this subject, however, I fear it would be once again criteria for deletion..

is it not possible to leave my link on the bottom of the page if its related to the subject matter? – Onapproach 18:37, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Groupies Rock

Gurch,

I have no idea what you are talking about here in regard to "Groupies Rock":

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Indian_Joe

I never edited a file by this name. I wondered if my password had been compromised, but this file does not appear in "my contributions" either.

I'm not sure who you were looking for, but it wasn't me Indian Joe 21:41, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your reply. I'm certain that I did not start this page. Are you only looking at the user name? Or does the IP match one I've used to edit in the past? I went ahead and changed my password, but if the IP matches it would tend to indicate that somebody jumped on my computer at work or home and thought this would be funny. I just want to make sure something like this doesn't happen again. Thank You Indian Joe 22:36, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Yep.. that's pretty stupid, and I have a pretty good idea now of how it happened (12 year old daughter named Casey is fixated on Rock Star Roger Daltry). We will have a long talk when I get home tonight. Thank you for calling this to my attention. It's embarassing, but at least now I know how it happened. If you could delete the page again, I'd appreciate it. At least now I'm not quite so worried that I've lost my mind. Thanks! Indian Joe 22:57, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

I want to contribute to the wikipedia. I thought I would start with a quick one on the Gravelles. This is a big trial in Ohio. Much front page news and will undoubtedly change adoption law (already has) here.

Can you tell me specifically why my article was deleted.

I noticed there is a lot here on Michael Stanley, a local musician. I am trying to understand why my article was deleted.

What?

I saw I has a new message when I linked to an article. It said the editing you have done on 'the origins of the blues' constitutes vandalism'. Well, I've never heard of that article nor can I be bothered checking what its about. I wasn't signed in at the time either. I'm reasonably new to wikipedia so I don't know if that shows up to everyone who looks at the article. If it does sorry for wasting your time. It also said I was an anonymous user at the time at it was identified by the IP address. When using certain template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. (P.S.: Obey the cabal) Luna Santin 00:10, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Please ban this IP 71.216.49.150

Hi, I apologize about the vandalism that this school has been doing, as you know that all schools will have this problem and don't have respect for shit. I am a serious contributor to Wikipedia (my username is BlueMint). My friend (username: nick125) and I actually started a petition in our school to unban Wikipedia from being used on our computers for obvious reasons. We were very excited to know that our petition worked, but now there are vadalism problems that we have expected. So if you could ban our IP address (71.216.49.150) from editing articles on Wikipedia, that would be great. If you need any sort of signature from the principal or the server administrator I can get that to you in a snap.

Much appreciated,

Lars Moede a.k.a. BlueMint

P.S. If I should send this to someone else, such as a higher-level administrator, please tell me. Thanks. – 71.216.49.150 20:13, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

?

Hi, the rv is ok, but please be honest, have a closer look at the edit and don't call it vandalism, it's not fair, since I do my very best to improve quality. It's not my fault. I observed several times that an edit "became manifest" although I used the "preview" button only and definitly (!without any doubt!) did not use the "save page" button. Really amazing! --84.136.241.44 02:06, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

explanation??

I made an addition to psychotherapy which you referred to as 'vandalism'

Can you tell me why? Raspor – 23:01, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Not Accurate

"Given that psychotherapy is restricted to conversations, practitioners do not have to be medically qualified,"

I am new here and told to be 'bold' but I am afraid to change this even tho i am positive it is not accurate. there are many types of 'psychotherapy' that go beyond conversation: attachment therapy, biofeedback, and the eye movement therapy. should I be 'bold'and change this or will that be considered vandalism

i put this under the psychotherapy discussion. i want to change it but i dont want to be accused of vandalism. what should i do? – Raspor 01:22, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

cool, sounds like you have a nifty system there. right on for taking on the CSD Category, it ain't easy. no, JoeBot isn't too active as of recent, and i still have all my air hairs (phew)! lately i've been whacking link spam (like this) using an IRC bot feed (#wikipedia-spam) that tracks everything added to WP with an http://. i'm working with some good bot developers in that too for whitelisting and blacklisting and statistics around frequent vandals; really interesting stuff. anyways, keep up the good work, and good to hear from you again! :) JoeSmack Talk 17:41, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

I have given him this message repeatedly:

"This user has vandalized many other articles. Like Gurch said, your false changes are always reverted so there is no point. And I've noticed you are clearly from Indian/Pakistan. So my question is, if someone provided false info on those topics? They would be reverted, but you would find them annoying I'm sure. deletion of our opensource project

Hi "Gurch",

For some reason, I see that you have deleted our EpiSurveyor page. EpiSurveyor is a free, open-source project of the DataDyne Group, LLC, and sponsored by the World Bank and the UN Foundation. It is NOT a commercial piece of software, although DataDyne is an LLC and not a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization (we are applying for this, but have not yet received it).

EpiSurveyor was originally sponsored by the World Bank and American Red Cross, and is currently being piloted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Kenya, Zambia, and Burkina Faso to help improve supervision of rural health clinics. WHO, an agency of the UN, plans to adopt EpiSurveyor as their open-source standard for data collection.

I am not "fluent" in wikipedia, so perhaps I have made an obvious error in my posting, but I do not understand why you have deleted our page. I am happy to modify it to correspond with any standard, and believe it is important that this free, non-commercial, open-source project have a wikipedia entry.

Please contact me to discuss, either at jselanikio@datadynegroup.com or at my cell: 202-468-7227. Note that I'll be in Africa starting next week, returning to the US December 22nd.

Thank you for your help with this,

thanks for feedback; question re "advertising"

Thanks for the info re the deletion of our page. I was surprised, though, that although the given reason for deletion was "advertising", you did not mention this in your message to me. Can you clarify in what way discussion of a clearly non-commercial product could be construed as advertising? – Jselanikio 20:11, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm not trying to split hairs here, it's just that from your feedback I am reading that we need to just change the style of the article, but that doesn't really address the "advertising" issue. I don't want to rewrite, repost, and then have it deleted again for some "advertising" concern that I don't fully understand.

Thanks! – Jselanikio 20:11, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Deletion of Klueless

Hi Gurch,

The page 'Klueless' I had created has been deleted by you for "importance or significance not asserted". (Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject). I don't agree. Besides, it is NOT about a group of people. It is about a website which thousands of people visit and enjoy solving the puzzles posted there. I know that Wikipedia is not a blog, webspace provider, or social networking site. I have read Wikipedia:Wikipedia_is_an_encyclopedia and I don't think that the article violates any of these.

If you thought that it was to be deleted, I think it would have been fair to put it in AfD and discuss the deletion before deleting it. You have exercised your power of speedy deletion on a article which didn't qualify for speedy deletion. Can you please bring it back and list it in AfD? -- WikiCheng | Talk 04:24, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Your deletion message

On the likelihood that you didn't put my talk page in your watchlist, I thought I'd post this here re: Eternal Sunshine (album)—I didn't create that article. I created the redirect Eternal Sunshine to the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which someone else then turned into an article about some album. Someone then moved that article to Eternal Sunshine (album), thereby moving my totally unrelated redirect edit in the history along with it, and then recreated the same redirect I had at the original title that I had posted mine. In other words, you left your message on the wrong talk page. Please check the deleted history of that article to determine who actually created the content you deleted.

Also, you should try not to use notices that are obviously designed for new users (ones that give advice about writing their "first article" or contacting an admin) on the talk pages of users who are obviously not new and actually are admins. Cheers, Postdlf 04:58, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi. We tend to block only repeat offenders, rather than blocking for only single instances of vandalism. According to the Wikipedia:Notability (people) article, one of the criteria for inclusion is a "A large fan base, fan listing or "cult" following" and "Name recognition" all of which Dreadhead has in the Indianapolis Colts community. The Dreadhead appears in the team's opening video, in the program and on the big screen as "AAA - Fan of Game," in addition to his weekly occurences on the big screen in RCA Dome. In the Indianapolis community, the Dreadhead has been recognized on countless occasions, and in his former college community of Muncie, IN.
