Easyjet Gibraltar route.

Hi. I do not have a flight number for the british airways flight as I did not add it to the list of destinations. Do you have a flight number for the Easyjet route? I have added information regarding the speculative status of the Easyjet route and until there is an announcement (and a flight number), I do not think it should be included in the list of destinations. There is no evidence to suggest that easyjet will begin services (as much as I hope they do!). Anansis. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anansis (talkcontribs) 15:39, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Calamari

I did not "get rid" of the Calamari article; I redirected it to Squid#As food, which has more accurate and more complete coverage of the topic. The previous Calamari article made the silly claim that "Calamari" is synonymous with "Fried calamari". --Macrakis (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 05:03, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Canal Sur

Recapping on this, I am not sure whether it is a good idea to list Ceuta and Melilla anyway. If we apply the same rule, i.e. the broadcast is directed to Andalusia but it spills over other areas, we should be listing Gibraltar, the Algarve and Murcia too! I reckon the best thing to do would be limiting it to Andalusia and adding a footnote about any other areas. Your thoughts? Asteriontalk 14:32, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Hola Asterion, sorry for the late reply. I agree with your proposal of limiting it to just Andalusia and listing everywhere else where the channel is also received in a footnote. ¡Buen principio! --Gibmetal 77talk 18:24, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

you're missing my point...my contention with the cajon article is that it is an advertising space for kotz drums. all the images in the article are supplied by kotz...they're all his model cajon and his endorser. the paragraph about michael kotzen is blatant advertising.

this is not objective or particularly valuable information regarding the cajon drum.

our company introduced the cajon to the american music market in 1994. please understand that i have some knowledge about the instrument and its history in the U.S.

i'm not trying to use wikipedia as an advertising forum I AM TRYING TO EXPRESS MY CONCERN ABOUT HOW IT IS BEING USED.

there should be images of peruvian or cuban cajones to depict their origin. perhaps kotz to show their contemporary evolution, although i would suggest that the fat congas cajon would be more representative, since we were the original cajon manufacturer here in the states.

the external links were not "spam." your removal is unwarranted. look to the body of the article, particularly how it reflects kotz drums.

respond please. Ogunswife (talk) 18:40, 15 February 2008 (GMT) (copied from an email sent to me by said user, replied at Talk:Cajón)

Page moves

Please do not move pages by cutting and pasting. If you cannot move pages using the move button, you must make a WP:RM request. You might also find the second definition here interesting. пﮟოьεԻ 57 16:18, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't see how you can say it's incorrect when it is noted in dictionaries, and used by organisations such as the BBC. пﮟოьεԻ 57 16:26, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

That 'dictionary' reference is rubbish. The example used is nonsense as there is no organisation known as 'The Gibraltarian Customs' however a good example of the usage is the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority www.gra.gi

The BBC often make errors, and regularly call Gibraltar an island etc.

PS: have created the referendum article, need some more work though.

--Gibnews (talk) 16:57, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Could you please both desist from trying to do cut-and-paste moves? We're not allowed to do them because it destroys the page history, which we have to retain for licensing purposes. (See the bolded text at Help:Moving a page#Wikipedia-specific help). If you want to move a page to another title, you will need to ask at Wikipedia:Requested moves, as Number 57 says. -- ChrisO (talk) 22:59, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi ChrisO. I stopped doing so as soon as I was told this was not good practice. However, Number 57 could have had a bit more courtesy as we're all part of this comunity that is Wikipedia and simply trying to improve it's content. He shouldn't have moved them in the first place without even discussing it after it was explained to him why the term originally used was the correct one. --Gibmetal 77talk 00:09, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Correct english use of Prishtina-Pristina-Priština

Hi there, I am trying to find someone who has studied english or knows its phonetics. We are having a discussion on which is the correct english use for the city of Prishtina/Pristina. While it is writen as Pristina currently, it is pronounced as Irish and Shanghai and not as pristine or star. The Straw poll and the arguments are to be found over here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:International_reaction_to_the_2008_Kosovo_declaration_of_independence/City_naming . Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Jawohl (talk) 10:37, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Holy Trinity Cathedral

Hi Gibmetal. Thanks for your message on my talkpage. The Bishop of Gibraltar was baptised "Douglas Geoffrey Rowell", but in his adult life he has always chosen to be known as "Geoffrey Rowell". For that reason, he is known as "Geoffrey Rowell" on Wikipedia. I have no idea why the cathedral website gives his full baptismal name. Geoffrey Rowell is a thoroughly nice chap. He was one of my lecturers at Oxford in the 1990s, and I have since worked with him and travelled with him. He is certainly never known as "Douglas"; in fact, I don't think many people would even recognise it as one of his names. Best wishes, Timothy Titus Talk To TT 20:06, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm not certain, but I'll have a look through some of my Gibraltar photos later tonight, and see whether anything else might be of use. Timothy Titus Talk To TT 20:34, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
