Weiner personal aside

No RS for this but -- Weiner knew about the Manhattan Project and knew some people involved therein. MP was not run on the basis of "formal invitations", making the entire discussion a tad weird. Weiner knew specifically some of the people who were involved in the machinery (automatic control mechanisms) used in handling the radioactive materials. I had the honor many years ago of meeting Dr. Weiner (and of later republishing one of his Sci-fi stories while an editor at a student publication). Collect (talk) 01:14, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

List of Israeli attacks on Palestinian targets, 2011

Thanks for your help. There appears to be some funny business going on over there and more eyes are appreciated. --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 04:20, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Article

Thank you very much! I'll get to work using the article! WhisperToMe (talk) 05:06, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Reference Materials - Thank you, is all!

Just a quick note to reiterate my thanks for providing me a copy of the article from Health Physics that I placed a request for a few days back to augment my research for the article on the Cecil Kelley criticality accident. I had never placed such a request before, and had little enough faith that anyone would even notice, never mind respond with the actual article. I am pleasantly surprised and very pleased.

There is no need to respond to this message-- I understand you are "busy in real life"! So just accept my heartfelt thanks, for helping me continue to have faith in the world generally and in the reality of human altruism in particular. I noticed. And it makes a difference. Thanks! But it's the wrong one.

I was searching for:

  • Harris, P. S. (1961). "Radiation Dose Estimation in the 1958 Los Alamos Criticality Accident". Health Physics. 5 (1): 37–44.

Not

  • G W Dolphin (1962). "Health physics". Rep. Prog. Phys. 25 (1): 337.

But thanks for your work. Next time I will make it a little clearer what I want. --Stone (talk) 07:40, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

I just noticed this as well. The journal article you sent was from 1962 and we needed one from 1961 (Stone, I think you have the date incorrect above, no??). Any chance you can still get the desired piece? Please let us know. Thank you! KDS4444Talk 09:43, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes! I corrected it!--Stone (talk) 18:28, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
My mistake. I should have looked closer. I can't find that article online, but I can head to a medical library later this week and scan it for you. GabrielF (talk) 18:01, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Only if it isn't too much trouble-- but if you did, it would go to immediate good use. KDS4444Talk 21:09, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Lexington Herald Leader

Do you have access to the Lexington Herald Leader? I do not, and I have several outstanding requests about Lester Coleman that are from that paper. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:43, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
