Request for help, if you are interested in podcasting articles

Hi Fordan, I have been working on reviving the Farpoint Media article which went under in an AfD when I wasn't looking. What I need help on is building this article to demonstrate notability. For podcasting notability, there have been a few simple requirements laid out here Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Podcasting. If you, or any of your associates might help add to the article with a few simple refs, we can get the Farpoint Media article back up and running. Bill O'Reilly Reversion

I meant to correct that revert, but my wireless internet signal went out in the middle of the reversion, thus causing the other revert to stay in place. The wireless signal I'm using isn't always reliable… Bellito, master of all things Mac-related 17:46, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Cozumel

Hi,

My data on Cozumel is from my own personal experience as I just returned from a week long stay on May 19, 2007. I based my comments on what the local divemasters themselves stated about the status of the reefs and the recovery. The dive group I went with was comprised of several people that had visited just one week prior to Wilma, and they also stated that the reefs had not fully recovered.

Notability tag to Simcha Margaliot

Can you explain why you tagged my post about SimchaMargaliot. I think I explained clearly why he is notable in the first 2 senctences: "Simcha Margaliot has had a major impact on the natural language processing industry. He has helped create a technology that bridges Natural Language and Computer Language, allowing computers to understand and respond to human language."

Please let me know what I need to do further to repost this entry. Do I need more citations? What would further prove that he is notable a worthy of an entry?

Speedy deletions request a minor edit?

Hello. I notice that you've recently requested some article be speedy deleted (e.g. Hombre Muerto) and marked the edit as minor. Was this intentional? It seems to me that this is one of the least minor edits one can make to an article. Was this intentional, or am I missing something? I'd love to hear your thougts on this. Thanks. Hi, thanks for your comment. I switched it to prod mostly because I'm not that familiar with the general topic (Australian bands), and figured it wouldn't hurt since the likelihood that the article starter will show up and remove the tag with no improvement is really small because the article is so old. I had no idea whether playing at the TGIO music festival was something notable since I've never heard of it, so figured I'd do it the safer way and prodded it instead. I speedied the article now, since that was pretty much the only questionable claim of notability, everything else just says they're a band with members that's played at some venues, which is what you'd expect any band to do, but which doesn't make them notable.

In a general case, I'm always a big fan of prodding things, since deleting prodded articles is more of a common sense issue, whereas with speedy you're stuck following tight guidelines, that don't always apply even in really obvious cases. - Bobet 17:03, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Tagging of Cornelius Hansard

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Cornelius Hansard. I do not think that Cornelius Hansard fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because it asserts that he was president of the National Rifle Association, which is an assertion of notability. I request that you consider not re-tagging Cornelius Hansard for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. You are, of course, free to tag the article with {{prod}} or nominate it at WP:AFD. Carlossuarez46 22:20, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

I really dont know much about contributing to wiki. But I hope these message reaches you. I have added more press coverage. He is a notable Architect. His office was even covered on BBC World, but alas I could not find any links to that program. Those links are broken on the Architect's website. Digged up Google. Scott Mills

I am sorry that you feel I acted wrongly in unprotecting Scott Mills. At Wikipedia, as you are probably aware, we try and be the encyclopedia that nearly everyone can edit. Featured articles are commonly not protected from vandalism, since if a person's first attempt at editing the site results in an error, then they are less likely to continue editing in the future. Obviously, we do need to draw a line to prevent constant vandalism and a drain on resources though. Since it has been subject to a high-profile mention, I thought it was best to increase the chances of someone being able to edit the article. After the unprotection, I the vandalism was significantly less than once an hour. To me, I don't think this is high enough to warrant blocking new editors from editing or at least previewing editing to test the ability. Also, most of the vandals on the page are likely to be new users, as opposed to automated vandalism or the like. I know a few good (if casual) editors to this site, whose first few edits consisted of vandalism. This is just my view, and it seems it may not be shared by the community, but I do feel that it justifies my removal of the protection. I would even go as far as saying I don't think it should have been reprotected. Hope this clears up the matter, Ian¹³/t 17:36, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey I just saw your message, as you might've noticed I'm from Mexico so I wouldn't be moving the names on bad faith or anything, I moved them to be more precise, for example all the cities in the United States have that format, even the smallest towns, if you want you may look at the Categories:Cities in California, Texas, Florida, etc. so you'll check by yourself, regards. Wait, I checked your link and it seems like Mexico is the only one doesn’t have that format, I don’t know why whoever wrote it did it that way, but that has to be changed thanks for bringing it to my attention, Mexico just like any other country uses that format. as well. Yasuko Tasumi

Hi, just wondered what you'd done to try to source/find notability for Yasuko Tasumi. The Japanese form of her name (-wikipedia) brings up over 900 google hits, which isn't bad for a piano teacher, including not only commercial sites, but public broadcast sites, academic sites, an interview in Kyoto Shimbun and a short profile in Kobe Shimbun. Now all I have to go on is google translator, but this looks pretty notable to me. Have you got Japanese? Or asked someone who has to help? --Paularblaster (talk) 13:24, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
