Don Rathbone moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to Don Rathbone. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 18:26, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please be aware that Discogs is not a reliable source. For a band member to be notable, they need to meet the notability guidelines for musicians on their own, separate from the band. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 18:29, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia edit

You did not identify the source of the material in your edit. It appears to be MC5. Copying within Wikipedia is acceptable but it must be attributed.

This type of edit does get picked up by Copy Patrol and a good edit summary helps to make sure we don't accidentally revert it. However, for future use, would you note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, linking to the source article and adding the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved.

While best practices are that attribution should be added to the edit summary at the time the edit is made, the linked article on best practices describes the appropriate steps to add attribution after the fact. I hope you will do so.

I've noticed that this guideline is not very well known, even among editors with tens of thousands of edits, so it isn't surprising that I point this out to some veteran editors, but there are some t's that need to be crossed.S Philbrick(Talk) 16:27, 12 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

February 2023 edit

Hello, I'm Binksternet. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, The Association, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 20:22, 13 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Chris Furrh, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Waxworker (talk) 11:05, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution (second request) edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from The Association into Jim Yester. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:23, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Rusty Stevens edit

Hello Foox123456789, I appreciate your recent edits of the Rusty Stevens article. I have made some revisions which removed some of your material. There were a couple reasons. You used IMDb as a source. IMDb is not considered a reliable source for Wikipedia because its content is user contributed. I backed off what you added base on that source. You also introduced mention of notoriety which has negative connotations. That doesn't seem to be supported by the sources so I backed that off also. I merged the 'Later life' section with 'Career' because although it was about later years it was still primarily about his career. Finally, I dropped mention of his living a private life and current location being unknown. I agree that we don't know much about how he is living his life or where he is. On the other hand we should include what published sources support and leave out our own speculation. You found some new source material and that is a big help. Redirects to article where the topic is not mentioned edit

Please check that the topic of a redirect is actually mentioned in the target article before creating a redirect, as the reader generally expects to find something about the search term, and its complete absence can be confusing and a waste of time searching for something which is not there.
