- "This article was re-published from the Miami Times. It was originally titled, From Riches To Rags and shares a byline with Erick Johnson" so it does qualify as a reliable source. Excellent article on the subject. I trust you and User:S0091 will put it back in and move the subject to mainspace where it belongs and can be expanded. FloridaArmy (talk) 17:11, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- Ahh! I missed that. I found the original on the Miami Times site so added it but it only contains a mention of the church so not helpful for notability. I did search for additional sources the other day but didn't find anything other than a shooting that occurred some time back and similar mentions about them owning the Tea Room. Nothing in-depth about the church itself. S0091 (talk) 17:38, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

- Usually for an author it is multiple reviews across multiple works. It looks like there are two reviews for a single work so the work is likely notable. You can make an article about that work or find reviews for other works. You have access to JSTOR via WP:Library so a good place to start. S0091 (talk) 20:25, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Runaway June (film serial)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Runaway June (film serial) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. I am perplexed.
Why would you remove the best source from an article, and then submit it? BD2412 T 02:54, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- User:BD2412, that entry on a notable judge had languished in draftspace since 2020. It is now 2024. It thought it was time. As I noted in my edit summary I moved the extensive quote, too large to include, and its source to the talk page for future addition. I see the entry is now in mainsapce? I hope additional details from the quoted source can be included going forward. I'm sorry my method does not meet with your approval. I recall there may have been something I needed to disambiguate elsewhere, but that isn't allowed if the subjects don't have articles. But I can't swear to that as I can't remember if this was definitely the subject I am thinking of. FloridaArmy (talk) 12:35, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

- User:Drmies the citations also included interviews of members. Regardless, I have added additional content and citations including a 400 some odd page book on this subject by an author who appears to be the leading scholar on Black masonic organizations. I agree the entry is too short and needs expansion but we have to start somewhere. Can you please have another look? FloridaArmy (talk) 14:33, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
- FloridaArmy, I'm not saying the topic isn't notable--it likely is. What I am saying is that the draft is underdeveloped, and the expansion added facts but didn't turn it into a coherent and somewhat comprehensive narrative. There's a book on it by Joseph Walkes--mentioning that that book exists is one thing, but incorporating material from it into a text is another. I just looked at JSTOR and there's over a dozen hits for it, where I read in an abstract of one article that "The Black Shriners represent an Islamic inter- pretation of African American freemasonry..", which seems like a pretty important point to me. Expand and reorganize the draft so that it looks more like an article and less like a group of individual sentences and then ping me, and I'll be happy to help and re-evaluate. BTW you have access to JSTOR through WP:LIBRARY. Drmies (talk) 16:14, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
- User:Drmies, my understanding is that Wikipedia is a Wiki, and that it is not solely incumbent on any one editor to finish an article before it is included. This is clearly a notable subject. I am most thankful we agree on this point! There's a book about it by an expert in the field. Let's move forward. If I had access to the book or found other articles on the subject I would have added them, but thanks be to a gracious loving God you and others are here to help! Praise the Lord!!!

Speedy deletion nomination of Dan Quinlan
Hello FloridaArmy,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Dan Quinlan for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Worked on the draft and moved it into main space. There is certainly room for further expansion. I did not incorporate much material from this gem of a source which should probably be the key source for improving the article further: https://muse.jhu.edu/pub/30/oa_monograph/chapter/1145251/pdf I haven't read much of it but from what I could glean from. a cursory look I would imagine her scholarship might bring to light some errors in the plot synopsis as I was doing my best to cobble together a plot from various sources which I use regularly in theatre articles; some of which contradicted each other on minor points. I will leave it to you to refine the article further. Best.4meter4 (talk) 06:52, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

KylieTastic (talk) 14:37, 11 February 2024 (UTC)I added content and published this article. Not sure if it should be G. W. LeVere, but doubt anyone with question that. We really need to find major coverage other than his obituary. I found one article about the church that has a lot of info and lots of mentions, but will have a hard time fighting an AfD. Hopefully, the large number of articles will help. We need to find some 20th or 21st century sources. Rublamb (talk) 19:59, 10 February 2024 (UTC)

- Maybe NIL. I have written and updated a ton of fraternity articles but steer clear of the masons. The sources are always messy. However, I did find and add some modern book sources that are from major and academic presses to this article; it should be good. It ends up he is most significant for his work as an abolitionist and educator, with plenty of academic mentions. He met Lincoln in this capacity prior to his presidential appointment as a military clergy. Rublamb (talk) 23:18, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
- National Independent Political League is done. I did not look for newspaper articles, but will do that if it gets challenged. Rublamb (talk) 05:12, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
John Jolliffe (lawyer) moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to John Jolliffe (lawyer). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability, it has too many problems of language or grammar and currently a jumble of notes with a few references, reads like a misplaced draft.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Wikishovel (talk) 17:23, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Paula Garcés. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Thedarkknightli (talk) 18:33, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
