Could you take a look at Ratherduarm (talk · contribs)'s edits and comments at WP:DRV concerning Encyclopedia Dramatica? Especially his comment to me, and I quote, "Shut the hell up." He has completely come out of the closet and admits to being an ED troll. Corvus cornix 02:16, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Good god, conduct yourself like an adult, crying "mutual masturbation session" and running off to an authority figure is not mature, not all. You called him a slug, and he told you to shut the hell up, get over it. --MichaelLinnear 02:23, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, Michael. Do you have an ED account? Ratherduarm 02:33, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Expungement request

Yo, Easy You, my Bantu friend.

Could you possibly delete the rather implausible redirect "Khoekhoegowab" language? I find it unlikely that anyone would search for that...

Is there any special reason why you're on a break?

Tebello TheWHAT!!?? 15:41, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I have deleted the redirect. I need to take a break (I'm trying to, rather unsuccessfully) because I have some real-world undertakings to deal with. --Ezeu 21:42, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Request to rescind your decision to delete the Kenneth Wapnick article on July 6, 2006

Dear Ezeu,
I am one of the editors for the ACIM Wiki article, and I would like to request that you rescind your 2006 decision to delete the Kenneth Wapnick article as shown in Articles for deletion/Kenneth Wapnick. This nomination for deletion was first made by one former user Ste4k who was subsequently permanently banned from Wiki for his divisive and disruptive behavior regarding the group of articles related to ACIM. This user made nominations for deletion for nearly every ACIM related article in the summer of 2006, intentionally using only partial and misleading logic in his nominations. He also attempted to have the main ACIM article essentially deleted by creating a rival POV fork article, and by placing numerous derogatory templates on the main ACIM article. By the time that his behavior pattern had become apparent to all, much damage had already been done, one of the casualties of his behavior being the deletion of the Kenneth Wapnick article.

A few points of notability that were not even touched on in the Afd discussion were:

1.          The fact that Dr. Wapnick is the author of over 130 books.
2.          A Google search for "Kenneth Wapnick" brings up 32,900 links. Apparently the rest of the Internet community feels he is notable enough to write extensively about.
3.          The fact that Dr. Wapnick is one of the three primary editors of ACIM (a book that has sold over 1.5 million copies and a book that is considered by many to be a spiritual classic.) While Afd discussion contributor Andrew Parodi noted this, this fact was seen as "non-notable" for some unstated reason by the other Afd contributors.

These three facts alone seem to me to warrant the inclusion in Wikipedia of an article on Dr. Wapnick. It appears to me that user Ste4k may have intentionally omitted these three facts from his nomination, and that subsequent contributors to the Afd discussion may have not been thorough enough in their review of the Afd discussion to have uncovered these very notable and relevant facts. Unfortunately, I myself was on a 'Wiki-break' during this hasty deletion process.

I will admit that the old article needs some work to bring it up to the newer, stricter standards of documentation for Wikipedia articles that seemed to evolve in the summer of 2006, but I don't feel that the need for improvement in documentation should have been suitable reason to have the article deleted at the request of the now banned Ste4k. I would very much appreciate it if you could please either reinstate this article or at least give a good reason why the author of 130 books, who pulls 32,000 Google hits, and the editor of a significant spiritual classic is viewed as 'unnotable' by Wikipedia standards.

          Thanks,

          Scott P. 15:33, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

I think it goes without saying that there should be a page about him. On the A Course In Miracles page there is a reference to ACIM being the most obvious choice for a single volume book for the New Age movement. Many people consider Ken Wapnick the most important ACIM teacher. The book Disappearance of the Universe shot to #2 on Amazon.com's sales list, and this book lists Wapnick as ACIM's most important teacher, predicting that he will be an important figure in world history. That has yet to be seen, but what has been seen is that ACIM is an important spiritual movement (hence the encyclopedia article), and Ken is perhaps THE most important teacher in the movement. Additionally, Ken was one of the central figures in the court case that resulted in the overturning of an early manuscript of A Course In Miracles. People of much less note have been given Wikipedia articles. Lastly, I think it should be remembered that the Wapnick article was deleted in a deletion frenzy of all ACIM-related articles. That frenzy was led by an editor who has since been discovered to have had a great anti-ACIM bias. -- Andrew Parodi 19:56, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Lopango yaBa Nka notability

I simply don't think the Lopango yaBa Nka article lacks notability.

For example, take a look at http://www.google.cl/search?q=Lopango+ya+Banka&sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_esCL210CL210 , and see the results: 362 as 24/VIII/2007, I think that is enought to be notable for Wikipedia. If you think the same, I think It would be better to remove the tag in the article in question

--Camahuetos 19:25, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Regarding Lopango yaba Nka, I tagged that article in April requesting that references be given to assert the band's notability. Edit the article appropriately, cite sources, and there shouldn't be any problems. --Ezeu 00:25, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

I've listed Image:Pavarotti.jpg at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images/2007 September 6. --- RockMFR 22:09, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

The picture was taken by User:Kowloonese. Whats the problem, do you reckon Kowloonese is lying? --Ezeu 22:19, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
No. I believe he did take the picture. But it might not be possible to license this under a free license if it is considered a derivative work of the waxform figure. --- RockMFR 22:26, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, then lets find the appropriate licence and tag the image accordingly. --Ezeu 22:31, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
That's why I've listed it at possibly unfree images. --- RockMFR 22:34, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Did you know that the latest Pavarotti image is a wax model? Seems a bit strange for the main page... --Stephen 1-800-STEVE 23:06, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I don't think putting a photograph of a wax figure (Pavarotti.jpg) in Template:In_the_news was a good edit. I appreciate your effort to include an image of the subject, but I feel that another image (or no image) would have been more appropriate. --Pixelface 23:18, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

WPZW Welcome

Hi, Ezeu, and welcome to WikiProject
Zimbabwe
!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles relevant to Zimbabwe. Here are some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve Zimbabwe-related articles, so if people ask for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as the current collaboration, which you are welcome to participate.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign Zimbabwe topics.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

Again, welcome! We hope you enjoy working on this project.

Also, please make sure that you have added the notice board to your watchlist to keep up to date with important announcements. Again, Welcome. Mangwanani 11:19, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Floyd Landis

You recently removed a blurb about Floyd Landis from ITN. I have raised the issue at ITN's talk page for community input. You are invited to join the discussion at Template talk:In the news#Floyd Landis. AecisBrievenbus 09:44, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Scottish English

Wikipedia:WikiProject Scotland wants to use {{User en-sc}} for Scottish English, and I have suggested they follow ISO code to use {{User en-gb-sct}} instead and allow en-sc instead for Seychellois English, per the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 having "sc" Seychelles and ISO 3166-1:GB#BS-only codes having "gb-sct" as Scotland, just like ISO 3166-1:US having "us-ca" for California and {{User en-us-ca}} for California English. Could you please take a look at Wikipedia:User categories for discussion#Scottish English and give your thoughts? Thanks! Taric25 16:34, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

The Queen

Hi Ezeu! i have corrected the edit you carried out on the Helen Mirren film "The Queen" as it is not a historically drama, the majority of the film is fictional based on facts reported and aimed for the American market (hence why the man who creates warp drive in Star Trek is playing Prince Philip!).

If you want to see a worse film made for America about the Royal family that is even more inaccurate you should attempt to watch "Prince William".

I would welcome your comments.

Just for your reference, spoiler tags are now considered redundant for plot summaries (identified as such) of film articles, per WP:SPOILER, because the section title is a de facto spoiler notice. Thanks. Ward3001 18:05, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Makerere crest.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Makerere crest.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. PxMa 00:52, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Angolan Civil War

This user previously vandalized[3] Angolan Civil War to harass me. Notice she added the text: "However, according to Perspicacite, Portugal annexed Cabinda from the Belgian Congo in 1927." The user kept on trying to insist that the references did not support the text[4] and resorted to personal attacks, as she is doing now, and she was blocked for 24 hours for it. The true intention of her latest edits is not to change the formatting of the kilometers but to add random fact templates to lower the quality of the article, as she did in the above diff. She has called me "ignorant and mindless" at least six times in the past 24 hours. Jose João (talk) 17:43, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

You really need to stop focussing on personalities (including your own), User:Perspicacite, and concentrate on whether the actual edits improve or diminish our articles.
I seriously resent you categorizing my edits as vandalism and even more the way you ignorantly (ie you seem ignorant of both the content and rationale of the edits you are reverting) keep reverting bona fide edits.
Please do not mendaciously pretend to know an "ulterior motive" for my edits, User:Perspicacite, unless you are claiming telepathic powers. The annexation of Cabinda claim is just plain wrong; I have not excised it since I do not wish to edit war with you but no other source you or I have been able to find supports your bizarre claim. The fact template (that you removed in two successive reverts) was not "random"ly positioned but precisely positioned to draw attention to your weird claim that borders on original research. Your source is (the probable typographic error) in the caption to a map in an obscure monograph. Do you wonder why the relevant Governments do not support this oddball claim of annexation?
This self-same pattern of ignorant reverts is present in our Rhodesia article if you examine the edit history. Please desist in your harassment and ownership games and edit constructively and progressively.
You should also note that it is your behaviour that I categorize as "ignorant and mindless" and that I am concerned with since it is degrading our encyclopedia and wasting other editor's productive time.

Note to User:Ezeu: I'm sorry to be forced to respond here, but User:Perspicacite consistently refuses to engage in constructive dialogue with his fellow editors on the relevant pages - ie his own user talk and, where that fails, article talk pages - as this little episode emphasises. Alice.S 18:16, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Looks like regular edit warring from both sides. Knee-jerk reverting will only lead to useless disputes. Use talk pages to discuss, gain consensus, assume good faith, etc. --Ezeu (talk) 18:37, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I would love to engage in constructive dialogue but every question I pose is either removed instantly without answer (on P's talk page) or ignored by him (or answered facetiously) on article discussion pages. If there is no reason for not converting metric measurements (normally standard procedure on WP), why does P just not self-revert?Alice.S 18:41, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Sunir Shah

I'm very upset that my Sunir Shah article has been deleted without my even having a chance to participate in the debate. I failed to look at Wikipedia for about two weeks, and when I did I found the debate already closed. Moreover, all of the participants seem to have the same opinion, so there was little real debate at all. The standard deletion process seems to provide only 5 days for debate, but to be democratic you should at least make sure that the article's author can participate. How do I go about asking for redress and having the debate opened back up so that I - and other people who might be interested - can at least contribute to it? - Redeyed Treefrog (talk) 22:08, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Ed McBain (disambiguation)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ed McBain (disambiguation), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Ed McBain (disambiguation). Replaceable fair use Image:Miria_Obote.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Miria_Obote.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

I remember seeing a discussion about it some months ago, can't recall where. Any changes done are made to prepare for articles on smaller settlements and where there is considerable confusion on what is a city or a town or a village. You're happy to see articles on places with 200 people classified as "Cities"? Numerous people including User:Squeakbox and User:Sadalmelik have fully supported the changes, as in doing so I am also adding infoboxes and maps to many of these places and improving articles in the long term ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:13, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Organizationally, the strongest thing we can do for these articles is to have all articles on settlements in a given area in one convienient category, it is simpler and makes organization easier to understand, particularly as it will lead to dramatic improvements in places in most world countries and an increase in content ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:15, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Such a massive renaming of categories should have been preceeded by a CFD discussion. --Ezeu (talk) 20:18, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

I was pretty sure it was several months ago. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:21, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

As for Uganda, expect several hundred new articles on places in the coming weeks ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:24, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

The CFD discussion was back in 2005 when categories such as Category:Cities, towns and villages in Cyprus were created -see the edit history with the statement it was created after CFD discussion. Gradually the categories have undergone change as article content has developed. Things will only get better in regards to this trust me ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:34, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Cut and paste moves

I'm aware of the rules regarding cut and paste moves etc. I was just helping out a friend who is relatively new to Wikipedia who had created separate pages for "River of Babylon", "Rivers of Babylon (Boney M. song)" and "Rivers of Babylon (single)". I couldn't move the pages the normal way by just renaming them (triple moves) so unfortunately it was the only solution in this case.... It was an attempt to repair the damage that already had been done and make it all more comprehensible again - and I moved the talk pages as well. But as I said, otherwise I'm fully aware of the rules and regulations about "cut 'n' paste" jobs. Thanks for keeping a watching eye on the pages.

Proposed deletion of Pride in Paisley Party

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Pride in Paisley Party, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Whitespace

I was just about to drop you a message for removing the whitespace. I have no idea how to deal with that problem. Raila Odinga

There is an editorial dispute concerning the Raila Odinga article, particularly POV issues that are more related to US presidential elections rather than Odinga himself. As an admin, could you deal with the issue? Julius Sahara (talk) 09:49, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Kanda_Bongo_Man.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Kanda_Bongo_Man.jpg.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. Purple Haze (disambiguation)

Hello Ezeu, I was going to add reference to Sander van Doorn to said disambiguation page but noticed you've undone such edit once. Could you explain what's wrong with it? Purple Haze is a well-known name among trance listeners. Thanks. 78.37.252.13 (talk) 16:43, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

  • It simply said "Sander van Doorn, a dutch trance producer and DJ", with no information given as to why he is mentioned on the Purple Haze disambiguation page. Furthermore, Purple Haze was not even mentioned on the page about him. --Ezeu (talk) 23:34, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
    • Understood. However, not being a native English speaker I fail to compose a phrase that would reflect this relation, so I'm leaving editing that page to someone else. 78.37.195.246 (talk) 13:44, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
