ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, EzekielT. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Video game console edits

Please take the time to learn how we organize and write video game console articles. “Nintendo DS” does not just cover the original model. It covers every single thing called a DS. That’s how every article about systems with revisions works. Playstation 4. Xbox One. Game Boy Advance. They all cover all versions, not just the original model. Also, the specifications in the infobox are for the original DS, not the DS Lite, DSi, or DSi XL. Even the infobox's picture is of the original DS. — EzekielT ^Talk 18:38, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

Did you check the examples I listed above? Or actually read the entire DS/3DS articles? Or done any research at all? If you did, you’d see I’m correct in every example I could think of. Video games are a popular content area, so it’s not like every single video game console article is written incorrectly. Yes, these “family” or “product line” articles exist, but they’re just primarily an area to do a compare/contrast on features. The main article’s scope contained every variant. The header on the Nintendo DS page says "This article is about the 2004 Nintendo DS game console. For the entire series, see Nintendo DS family and Nintendo DS (disambiguation)." - 2004. The 2004 DS console. That means not the 2006 DS Lite. Not the 2008 DSi, or the 2009 DSi XL. Those have their own pages. -- EzekielT ^Talk 21:24, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

The page may outline some things about the redesigns, but they're only tidbits. All the redesigns have their own pages: DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL. The primary scope of the page is the original DS released in 2004, as the header states. -- EzekielT ^Talk 21:27, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

I don't see how it hurts to include the original DS's sales, especially considering everything else in the infobox is about the original DS anyways. Besides, the infobox currently includes "All models combined". Not to mention that Nintendo DS family also shows how many total units were sold. -- EzekielT ^Talk 21:39, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

Yes, Im well aware of what the top of the article says. I’ve been one of the articke’s primary writers since it’s creation 9 years ago. Its a quick guide to help readers find the article they are looking for. It’s not a statement on article scope. Now then, your turn. Read. The. Article. Note how it covers all variants. Note how every example I have covers all variants. That’s how all the articles are written. And we don’t need two figures in the infobox. We could also provide breakdowns for every year. All that aside, you are in the wrong to continually keep re-adding it without a WP:CONSENSUS. Please read WP:BRD. If some one challenges your changes, you’re not supposed to make the change again until you have a consensus that supports your stance. You’ve broken this multiple times now. I know you're not the one who made the real mess with the article. The person who edited following you did that. Please see the talk page before reverting any edits. Also if you would like some edits feel free to but please put them in the appropriate section. The examples section is not the appropriate section to introduce new terms. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
