February 2014 edit

Hello, I'm Gogo Dodo. I noticed that you made a comment on the page User talk:Frosty that didn't seem very civil, so it has been removed. Wikipedia needs people like you and me to collaborate, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 22:17, 19 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 09:42, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Reception, iOS 7 February 2014 edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. iOS 7 has received more positive reviews than negative reviews. If you believe this is wrong then please discuss it on the talk page for iOS 7 rather than just editing it.

Thanks As11ley (talk)12:19, 20 February 2014 (GMT)

Reception, iOS 7 edit

There is no need to be rude. iOS 7 has received mostly positive reviews. All I am guessing is that you prefer iOS 6? Like I said before, if you wish to dispute this then please do so on the talk page for iOS 7.

Thanks As11ley (talk)15:23, 20 February 2014 (GMT)

I have now reported you for harassment and rude comments. I would like to assure you that I DO NOT work for Apple, and I am defiantly NOT out of my mind. iOS 6 and iOS 7 are two completely different operating systems, the links that you provided do not work.

My contributions to Wikipedia have always been to enhance the articles, not to disruptively edit them such as you have been doing. Please check out the following links to make sure each edit that you do complies with these policies and rules. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Policies_and_guidelines https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Ten_Simple_Rules_for_Editing_Wikipedia https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Rules If you do not comply with these rules and polices then you might end up being blocked from editing in the future.

Pease refrain from your rude and harassing comments towards me and other users. This is a community encyclopaedia, not a place for harassment.

Thanks As11ley (talk) 16:09, 20 February 2014 (GMT)

Like I have said before, I have reported you for rude comments and harassment. You have had multiple warnings from your edits on iOS 7 and your harassment towards me.

I am not taking this any further. This discussion is now closed.

Thanks As11ley (talk) 16:19, 20 February 2014 (GMT)

I am new to Wikipedia and have an issue with user, As11ley. I have provided an edit to the reception section of iOS 7 page, I have provided a reliable source from Mashable, yet for some reason this User is overruling my edit. This user has even admitted that reception has not been positive across the board. Why am I being denied this, my first Wikipedia edit. This is misleading in in its current form.

Since this all happened more than four years ago, I'd suggest opening up another discussion with As11ley.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 01:59, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Need for care edit

I see that here you have made an edit at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism which removed comments by other editors. I assume that this was a mistake, in which case you need to be very careful when making similar edits. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:18, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure, I don't remember removing any comments. I am brand new here, but I don't believe I removed anything so far...

Editing before creating this account edit

I now see that the very first edit from this account refers to an earlier edit you made. Can you indicate what earlier edits were from you? JamesBWatson (talk) 20:25, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

My first edit was iOS 7 has received negative reviews. This was before I created an account. Once I created my account I have only accessed Wikipedia through it. I actually had to look up the term sock puppet (another admin had mentioned SOCK!) but when one of my edits was brought back by another ip who also wrote about how iOS 7 ruined the iPhone 4, this was not me.

Hello, I'm GSK. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, it's important to be mindful of the feelings of your fellow editors, who may be frustrated by certain types of interaction. While you probably didn't intend any offense, please do remember that Wikipedia strives to be an inclusive atmosphere. In light of that, it would be greatly appreciated if you could moderate yourself so as not to offend. Thank you. gsk 21:05, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at IOS 7 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. gsk 21:08, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

So then user As11ley has reverted my correct and appropriate edit more than 3 times. I have went to the dispute resolution page and asked for comments. Why is this user's incorrect version the current default?

As11ley has been reported for violating 3RR. You're coming close to violating it, so it would be best not to edit any further and wait for comments at the dispute resolution board. gsk 21:19, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Understood, thanks for the info.
