December 2013 edit

Hello Editor0071, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Lay the Favorite has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Elizium23 (talk) 15:48, 12 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Tanuja may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. Speedy deletion nomination of MobiKwik edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on MobiKwik, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Disambiguation link notification for November 3 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rhea Kapoor, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Khubsurat. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 12:56, 3 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

http://spam.amigobulls.com edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.Editor0071 OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:03, 18 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Mobikwik Logo.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Mobikwik Logo.png, which you've attributed to A VRT notice was applied over 30 day(s) ago, but no message at VRTS has been found since this tag was applied.. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 00:46, 29 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

As you are continuing to insert promotional links as references, in many cases where they have nothing to do with the content, I've blocked this account. There are enough warnings for this above. Kuru (talk) 12:26, 9 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

As it has become apparent that your account will be used solely for unconstructive editing, you have been indefinitely blocked from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest it by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} to this page. Kuru (talk) 12:26, 9 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I do not think I have inserted any links that do not bear any resemblance to the articles here. Moreover I was never given any warning or guidance for the same. If I would have been given I wouldn't have done it. Being a regular contributor to wikipedia I feel I should have been guided if there was any links which you feel were wrong

Decline reason:

"Moreover I was never given any warning or guidance for the same" Yes you were. See above dated November 18. If you didn't understand then you had not been blocked and you were free to read the linked page and/or seek guidance from another user. But you didn't. — Daniel Case (talk) 19:18, 9 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Daniel Case I apologize for my mistake which was not intentional. Moreover after I got a warning for putting up amigobulls links I have fully avoided the same. I have been a responsible contributor in the past and would like to continue to do so. If given a chance again I would see to it that I do not voilate any further rules and policies of wikipedia and adhere to it. Moreover as directed by you I would seek another user's guidance and help whenever in doubt.

Decline reason:

You instead proceeded to add Simplilearn spam links that didn't even say what you "cited" them for (see Kuru's examples). If you consider that to be "bearing resemblance", you should not be editing Wikipedia. Huon (talk) 03:57, 10 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Frankly, you seem to simply be creating backlinks to sites you've protmoted in the past. Could you help me understand this edit, for example? The "reference" you added to this blog seems to not only fail as a reliable source, but it appears to have absolutely nothing to do with the material it "sources". Kuru (talk) 03:47, 10 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Similarly, this edit also replaces a dead ref with a link to a blog that does not support the direct quote it is supposed to support. Kuru (talk) 03:52, 10 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hi Kuru or any of the administrators there. I know it might sound childish and a big excuse stated from my side, however these links were not inserted by me. It was inserted by someone who used my system and id to update these links and any previous links. As stated by me earlier after the Amigobulls fiasco I have not gone and inserted any wrong links in fact finding my previous links useful I was even nominated for Wikipedia Microsoft Project. I assure you my intention for being on wikipedia is to contribute authentic and useful information for the benefit for everyone. The only way I can see to stop these kind of issues in future is to change my password and also starting all over again. In case you find any further issues happening from my end I assure you I will not defend myself or counter the arguments. For now it would be great if you can unblock my account and I will see to it that I am cautious about what is being posted and also keep my id and password safe.

Decline reason:

It is a big excuse and childish to make that "It wasn't me" argument. This account will stay blocked as its persistent in its spamming, and it can't be trust if someone is allegedly gaining access to it frequently. only (talk) 11:12, 10 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
