Speedy deletion nomination of London Academy of Diplomacy

Hello Dr Deborah Swallow,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged London Academy of Diplomacy for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. DOCUMENTERROR 14:32, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (This is a legitimate educational establishment that specialises in the teaching and training of Diplomats. It has a long history going back about 40 years and is a world class institution; one of the most renowned in Europe. In September 2014 the school passed from being part of the University of East Anglia to the University of Stirling, so we have to start building our online presence again. The school wishes to have a Wiki page like many other establishments. We were endeavouring to copy the Fletcher School of Diplomacy wiki page template. The faculty currently are working to get all the information finished. I was expecting this to go into draft format and not into being a live post when I uploaded the information I was given this morning.
IMPORTANT: Please let me know how I can make it 'not live' so we can continue to work on it. How do I put this back in my user space?
Also please let me know what is the difference between the wiki page layout and text we have so far uploaded and The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, which is also part of a university. WE don't want to be speedily deleted or told its just advertising, but would like to go back to being a draft page so that we can have a legitimate wiki page for The London Academy of Diplomacy when all the writing has been finished.
Thanks for your help ) --Dr Deborah Swallow 16:27, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Debby
The problem with this page is that it wasn't really an encylopedia article - it read as the sort of prospectus that American undergraduate institutions bombard recent high school graduates with. For it to remain on Wikipedia, it has to be written with a neutral point of view and substantially different tone.
I've userified the article to User:Dr Deborah Swallow/London Academy of Diplomacy where it can be further improved.
(I agree, by the way, that The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy really isn't a model article, but it's closer to what we're looking for.) —Cryptic 16:48, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
