Hello I just wanted to say hi, and let you know that the reason I decided to pick you is I wanted to let you know that your page helped me out a lot with setting up my page. so thank you very much, and i'm sure we will interact more during the semester. No need to thank me, thank Zach haha. I copied almost everything from his page but also used some of my basic HTML knowledge. That'd be great if we can help each other out more through out the semester!24.62.204.144 (talk) 14:35, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think you've got some great ideas for a project. Just remember the Five Pillars of WIkipedia - maintain neutrality since this is an encyclopedia. Summarize the knowledge out there - find great sources (specifically academic ones) so that others can see the arguments that are out there, not your own. That being said, there are quite a few academic on violence towards women, normalization of violence, etcetera, that would suit you well. Check out http://scholar.google.com/ and do a couple of searches to get a hint of the wealth out there. Debaser42 (talk) 16:19, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey there! Thanks for posting on my page and I would love to write a reply back. I definetly like the set up of your page and I feel like you got a lot of questions coming your way from me once we're deeper in the semmester ;). But in the mean time, if you want to chat, you know where to find me! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Odolgopo (talkcontribs) 04:00, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey Diane. I played around with the Sandbox and I created a couple of paragraphs regarding my topic. I am little confused because I do not know if I should post my sandbox draft into the actual pre-existing article someone else created. Also, I checked your sandbox and I couldn't see anything. I do not know if you worked on it and deleted it because you posted it into the original article or if you haven't gotten a chance yet to create a sandbox. Let me know also if there is something I need to do additionally.Odolgopo (talk) 02:06, 7 October 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Odolgopo (talkcontribs) 02:04, 7 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Feedback

edit

I reviewed your changes to Violence and was mostly impressed with your inclusion. I only suggest you move away from using weasel words in your presentation. for example, where you write: "Studies have shown that, "males, divorced persons ..." is presented in a better encyclopedic tone as: Anu Mustonen stated "males, divorced persons ..." with your reference. Also copy edit your inclusions for minor errors, like the missing space between "that,"males" the comma and the quotation mark. All in all it was a good edit and did improve the article, good job! ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
