Edits involving Major League Baseball on NBC edit

Hi User:Dhouston45, this message is to politely ask you to stop making edits involving Major League Baseball airing on NBC or Peacock. Despite the reports, no agreement has been made between Major League Baseball and NBC Sports. It is incorrect to say that games are airing on the network, or to include the network as a media partner for the networks. If you continue to make these edits, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you! Esolo5002 (talk) 16:36, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please cite sources edit

Hello, I'm Flibirigit. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Gord Miller (sportscaster), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Flibirigit (talk) 18:19, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Mlb-game-of-the-week-on-youtube.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:MLB-Sunday-Leadoff-2022.png edit

A tag has been placed on File:MLB-Sunday-Leadoff-2022.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The Point (studio show) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, The Point (studio show), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. June 2022 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into In the Crease (studio show). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:43, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with this edit to The Point (studio show). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Dr.Pinsky (talk) 20:14, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove an Articles for deletion notice or a comment from an AfD discussion, as you did at The Point (studio show). Between your AFD removals, RD2 removals and creation of patent nonsense, your edits are extremely disruptive so I suggest you start following the the big bolded directions. Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Dhouston45! Your additions to In the Crease (studio show) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Your description of the show has been taken from a press release: https://media.nhl.com/public/news/12278?utm_source=corporate-communications&utm_medium=twitter Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of In the Crease (studio show) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on In the Crease (studio show) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/In the Crease (studio show). When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Continued issues with your edits edit

You've recreated an article that was deleted per consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/In the Crease (studio show) without addressing any of the issues noted in the discussion. In addition, the only content you added to the article was a copyright violation from this source. Please do not create any further articles outside of draft space until you have a better grasp of Wikipedia's sourcing and notability criteria. Further instances of copyright violations will likely lead to a block of your account.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:53, 15 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Assessing Articles edit

Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia, and assessing articles! However, could you have a look at article assessment standards. Recently, you assessed this one-line stub as C-class. I have inserted a here which you could look at.

The C-class are for articles that are "substantial but is still missing important content or contains much irrelevant material. The article should have some references to reliable sources, but may still have significant problems or require substantial cleanup." Currently, the article is too short for C-class, and doesn't have refs yet. I will be tagging stub and notability for now, otherwise, happy editing! VickKiang (talk) 22:58, 25 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

NHL Network Showcase moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, NHL Network Showcase, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Liz Read! Orphaned non-free image File:The Pointnhl.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:The Pointnhl.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:17, 30 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

The Point (studio show) edit

Please put more effort into creating articles in mainspace. Specifically, please provide sources. Creating unsourced stubs just makes more work for everyone else. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:Dhouston17 per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Dhouston17. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 12:13, 8 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of NHL Network Showcase edit

The article NHL Network Showcase has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I promise I will not use multiple accounts and make inappropriate edits on pages. Dhouston45 (talk) 04:50, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

This doesn't address the serious copyright issues you've had. You'll need to request unblock from your original account, and do so in six months per the standard offer, which is likely your only pathway forward. That means no edits under any account or IP for six months. 331dot (talk) 06:43, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I apologize for my actions and what I have done to Wikipedia by making sockpuppets, not following the rules and believing I can do anything on this site. I would like for those sock puppet accounts to be removed and I want to be unblocked but since this will probably get canceled, this will probably be my last edit on Wikipedia. But I hope that maybe, just maybe it can happen. So please for probably the last time please unblock me.

Decline reason:

No chance of an unblock at this time, not while you demonstrated you haven't the slightest intention of stopping. Your only realistic chance is to apply under WP:SO. That requires six months with zero edits. The soonest you could apply would be 2023-08-18. Note that you are far closer to a WP:CBAN than you are to being unblocked, so please consider this your final chance. Yamla (talk) 11:42, 18 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
