Well, I thought the deal was: only significant anniversaries, not anniversaries which happen every century. A centennial anniversary happens every century and is therefore not significant. 250th, 500th, 750th etc, do not happen every century and are therefore more significant. Well, it seems to me that things that happen once a century are significant, and most people agree with this view. If you are going to suppress Mozart's 300th and 400th anniversaries, then to be consistent you have to suppress all 300th and 400th anniversaries, including 2076 and 2176, the tricentennial and quadricentennial of American Independence. I was just hoping to hear you chime in the anti-deletion discussion, which has now evolved into a merge discussion. You had what I thought to be good points to preserve the article. Now that has been accomplished, the aforementioned merge discussion is taking shape on the LDS Church and Animals talk pages that I think you could certainly influence. I'm not attempting to "lure" you into discussion or create work for you that you don't have time or interest for; I merely wanted to raise your awareness that there's some interesting posts I've been responding to that perhaps may be up your alley, too. Saw Miami Vice today. Farrell was better in Alexander. I take it from your pro-Formicidae response on my talk page about war that you saw The Ant Bully? I said to myself, "there's gotta be something behind her preoccupation with ants." From the article you referred to..."Ants have colonized almost every landmass on Earth. They can constitute up to 15% of the total animal biomass of a tropical rainforest; in the Amazon the combined weight of the ants is said to be four times larger than that of the tetrapods in the same area." Book: Wikipedia for Dummies

I think that it would be a good idea. I am always finding new projects, 'rules', templates, systems etc. on Wikipedia that I did not even suspect. Some people do like to have a book in their hand, even when doing things electronically. It would be a lot of work, even though the material is all there (somewhere) in the Wikipedia: articles. Outlining what to cover would be a good start. The five pillars of Wikipedia (and links) doesn't begin to cover it. In the past, I've found IDG Books open for suggestions, but I was never been willing to commit to their production cycle. Hungry Minds, Inc., a Delaware corporation, on October 31, 2000, was merged into IDG Books Worldwide, Inc., a Delaware corporation, under the name "Hungry Minds, Inc." and then it was purchased by Wiley Publishing, Inc. I have not dealt with Wiley editors. They say "It is Wiley's policy not to accept unsolicited proposals for books in the For Dummies series. You may send us a copy of your credentials for our files or contact a literary agent to submit a proposal on your behalf. If you choose to submit a proposal through an agent and do not already have one, we suggest that you consult a publication like Literary Market Place that offers contact information for literary agents. If you think about it, all involved authors need to be recruited and in agreement of the project before we approach a publisher. And really, there's gotta come a time when we cap recruiting. Roles would need to be fleshed out. We'd need one dedicated project manager. The distribution of workload needs to be planned for if this thing would reach fruition. Not to mention, any major Wiki events will need to be tracked throughout the editing process to prevent inaccurate or outdated content from making it into the first edition. Iff any one of us has an agent (I do not), it could help overall, but I'm concerned about preferential treatment given to that particular "represented" author. Piewalker 17:39, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Das Baz, really, I have to say yours was a jewel of an addition to the Till We Have Faces article. It's not simply a clever edit; it is most certainly there to stay in the article...you might want to furnish a reference from the literature on the topic to solidify your addition's accepted permanence. You described succinctly the correlation between the ancient Cupid and Psyche myth and the contemporary Beauty and the Beast tale that has survived to this day. Also, browsing your talk page, I see we have many of the same interests: Isaac Asimov, Star Wars, LDS Church, Josephus as a historical document, C.S. Hi,

I've set your article about Goldstein, Tintin's double, up for deletion. It was an interesting one and raised the issue, but I do not really think that that he was major enough to have his own article in a way similar to Tintin, Haddock or Calculus. There is also now a more detailed account about him at Tintin's Double.

Quadrecentenials

Why quadricentennials in 22nd century? Why not quincentennials in 23rd century, etc? I believe there's a consensus that no anniversary listing should appear in a {{future}} year artical unless there is present planning for memorialization. The Hebrew language uses the native Yiddish designation for the latter language. It is pronounced both "yidish" and "idish" in the two languages, with the corresponding orthographic distinction (יידיסה and אידיש) both when appearing in Yiddish and Hebrew text. That test chapter is already mentioned in enough detail in the intro to the main Naruto article; there is no need to create separate articles or sections detailing every little difference it has from the current series. Editing at the Ludwig von Drake page

Hi, I just read your message but didn't know where to reply to you. (I hope this is the right place.) In reference to this message:

Dear Ethel, I only mention the divorce option because some people talk about either Matilda or Ludwig dying to explain the end of their marriage. I realized I likely overreacted and apologize. I don't like the idea of either Matilda or Ludwig being "dead" either, but the idea of their getting divorced was rather upsetting to me, too. The thing is, as I tried to explain, there was never anything to suggest that such a thing happened. In fact, if you've read my article at the bottom of the talk page, [1] Don Rosa seems to solve the mystery at last. He had actually wanted Ludwig and Matilda to be married; but his editor didn't like Ludwig (in fact, he declared Von Drake "officially dead" ) and utterly forbade Rosa to use the character. This is why Matilda is completely alone and still a McDuck in The Old Castle's Other Secret or A Letter From Home.

The problem was, the comments that Matilda divorced Ludwig because she didn't want to live with a "know it all" seemed to be passing a judgment and presenting a personal opinion as fact, when we are asked to keep these pages neutral. I should have approached the matter with less emotion and more common sense, but I hope you at least understand my position on this. I'll remove the warnings, but please try to keep it neutral, okay? All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hillel and Shammai

Don't take this the wrong way, but do you know how to use references in Wikipedia articles? Basically, all you need to do is enclose the reference in <ref></ref> tags, and then add a <references /> tag at the bottom where you want the notes to appear. One other thing. You added two references at the end, and wikilinked the sources. But they aren't in Wikipedia. You add a hyperlink like this: Exodus article (single square brackets, with the text you want appearing one space after the URL). What you did was more like this: Exodus Article. See how it's red, and goes nowhere? Or if it's an actual book or article that's not online, just enclose it in double apostrophies, like this: Exodus Article -LisaLiel (talk) 23:54, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
