I thought he had just re-signed with BCM Gravelines. Do you see a source that says otherwise? Zagalejo^^^ 02:47, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Fare enough, it's just he hasn't played another game for them since returning. DaHuzyBru (talk) 05:25, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
Greg Ostertag
Regarding my edit, Ostertag has switched to #99 jersey, which can be seen on this video highlights of the Legends most recent game. He switched to #99 when Yi Jianlian came to the Texas Legends and took over the #50 jersey, but this info has not been updated in their roster page yet. — MT (talk) 09:26, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
Julyan Stone
He played for the Nuggets last night [1], and I don't see any announcement that he has been sent to the D-League since. Zagalejo^^^ 02:26, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
- I saw that, but I think it must be a mistake. Zagalejo^^^ 05:31, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
Francisco Elson
Just curious, have you seen any official announcement that he was waived? I do see a note at the Sporting News transactions page, but not much else. Zagalejo^^^ 19:16, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- I think he is still on the 76ers. He's still listed at their official roster page, and he appears in tonight's box score as an available player (though, as of this writing, he hasn't gotten into the game yet). Zagalejo^^^ 01:58, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
Josh Selby
Have you seen any announcements regarding his status? I know he's not listed on the Bighorns' roster page, but he is still featured prominently on the front page of their website. Thanks. Zagalejo^^^ 21:18, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
- I think the issue is that no one has created a D-League profile page for him yet, even though he has played one game for Reno: [2]. Zagalejo^^^ 21:22, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Gladness
Thanks for the update. He actually wasn't on the team for their last game before the all-Star break; it seems that the Heat didn't want to start a new contract until the break was over. Zagalejo^^^ 04:09, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Patrick Mills
As far as I can tell, the Spurs themselves have not announced a signing. Let's wait until they issue a press release; then, we'll know it's official. Zagalejo^^^ 02:03, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed, the tweet from Adrian Wojnarowski doesn't even say that a deal is done, but that they are finalizing an agreement. Zagalejo^^^ 02:04, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
All-Star Games
Hey, do you know of any good sources of information on NBL All-Star games (particularly games from the early 1990s)? Hoops.com.au has some stuff, but I don't know how reliable that site is. Thanks! Zagalejo^^^ 03:36, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
Flags
The guideline WP:INFOBOXFLAG says that flag icons should not be used in infoboxes. I am just letting you know since I noticed you added flags to article like in this edit.—Chris!c/t 21:46, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Asik, and RFAs in general
I don't think there's an established consensus for how to handle restricted free agents in infoboxes, but I think it is useful to present the team field this way. The Bulls still retain certain rights to Asik, and can match any deal Houston gives him. He's not actually free to sign wherever he wants.
If you want, you can start a general discussion at WT:NBA, because it wouldn't hurt to have some consistency in this area. Zagalejo^^^ 05:43, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Ronnie Brewer
Though the Bulls never issued a press release on the matter, Brewer said the Bulls told him they would not pick up his option. The Bulls had a deadline to do so, which has since passed. The Bulls never formally announced anything about CJ Watson, either, but Watson did eventually sign with the Nets, so they must have made a decision at some point. And there are now reports that the Timberwolves are targeting Brewer.
I'm not sure why Brewer is still listed at the bulls.com roster, but that same page still has a video introduction from CJ Watson, so who knows. We don't have to explicitly say that Brewer is a free agent; we can just leave the team field blank. Zagalejo^^^ 22:48, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I don't know of any sources that correctly list all of the transactions. Even NBA.com gives incomplete and sometimes contradictory information. It's tricky. Zagalejo^^^ 02:49, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
O.J. Mayo
Hey, you know that he will still be wearing #32? Because you changed it back and gave Crowder the number... Kante4 (talk) 12:43, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- I know but he will give his number up Mayo said in an interview and hold a shirt up with "his" 32. ;)
Foye
In Foye's case, it seems that the deal is pending the outcome of a physical: [3]. There might be some other paperwork left to do, as well. But since the Jazz's general manager has already made an announcement, I'm comfortable saying that Foye is on the Jazz. What might happen is that, a few days later, we get another report that he has signed. (That's what happened with C.J. Watson.) But for right now, as long as we word things carefully, I'm not going to worry too much about it. The important thing is that we have an official announcement from the team's GM. Zagalejo^^^ 01:14, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
Miller, etc
I would go with the teams' own press releases, unless more evidence comes out to support ESPN's listing. Zagalejo^^^ 04:48, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
Revert on AUS basketball team
Why? It's an accurate statement that Australia has won no Olympic or World Championship medals; they are the most frequent participant in the Olympics without any pbp 04:22, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
Terrence Williams
The deal is mentioned here, though admittedly, even that may be wrong. I'd be most comfortable with a press release, myself. However, if the deal is in that list, it'll be difficult to convince people not to mention it. Williams is listed as a free agent here. Zagalejo^^^ 21:05, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
Converting basketball biography infoboxes
Hello DaHuzyBru - I have noticed that you are a very active Australian Wikipedia editor. I wanted to bounce something off of you and see if you knew of other active NBL editors who might weigh in. I am interested in converting players in the Template:Infobox NBL player over to the broader Template:Infobox basketball biography. In my opinion, this would make converting players who move across leagues much easier as the NBL is the only league who has its own infobox separate from the Basketball biography or NBA biography (which is actually just a redirect) boxes. I started a conversation about this over at WikiProject NBA. I want to check in with a few active NBL editors to make sure there are no issues with doing this. One issue I could foresee is that the "junior association" field would be lost. Heights and weights are also metric first on the NBL box, but that is also true of Europe so I don't think that is a show stopper. What are your thoughts? We may be able to code the box with NBL team colors as is the case in the NBA and Euroleague - I think that would be a nice enhancement. Rikster2 (talk) 13:18, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. Do you know of any other heavy NBL editors I could reach out to as well? What I want to avoid is making big changes and editors with a vested interest feeling like they had no voice. Thanks! Rikster2 (talk) 19:59, 28 September 2012 (UTC)

Ely and Douglas-Roberts
Has there been any official announcement about them? The Mavericks played tonight, but those players aren't listed in the box score (not even as DNDs): [0011200115] Anyway, I'm sure this will be resolved soon; I'm just curious if I was missing something. Zagalejo^^^ 03:21, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I saw that earlier, but no press releases or anything like that have materialized, so I don't know if anything happened yet. I'll keep checking periodically. Zagalejo^^^ 03:30, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

Eddy Curry
There is a team press release that has been published at a few places (eg, [4]) In truth, the Mavericks' website is probably the worst in the league for announcing transactions; however, the press release at the Dallas News site does come from them. (The language and format are typical of NBA press releases.) Zagalejo^^^ 03:54, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
- The press release linked above mentions both Curry and Murphy. I didn't look too closely at the references added to the article - those were added before I got there - but the link above convinced me that the deal was official.
- There are some subtle things to look for to know when something is official or not. The official announcements all use the same general structure and many of the same phrases, so even when they're not published on NBA.com, you can tell that they're from the team. Zagalejo^^^ 04:01, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
- The main problem with this link is that it says "a source said", so we know there wasn't anything official (at that time). Zagalejo^^^ 04:06, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
James Anderson
You sure he's back on the Vipers? I don't know if he'd automatically get his roster spot back, but if that is the rule, just let me know. I don't see anything new about him at the Vipers' website, although D-League transactions aren't always announced in a timely manner, so I can't say much with certainty. Zagalejo^^^ 05:45, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
- No worries. I was just wondering if you had seen something. Zagalejo^^^ 18:09, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion
Hi,
I have recently declined three of your requests for speedy deletion, please note that an article not being "particularly notable" is not a valid reason for speedy deletion - the list of valid criteria are listed here. If you believe an article does not meet the notability criteria and does not fit into the speedy deletion reasons listed, you can try WP:PROD or WP:AFD. Camw (talk) 05:52, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

2013–14 NBL season page
Hey, as you do a lot of editing on NBL related pages, just thought I'd make sure you're aware that the 2013-14 page has been marked for deletion. Discussion is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2013–14 NBL season, if you want to add any thoughts. Danielfarrellnzl (talk) 17:58, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
Kanter
At the start of the season, it was widely reported that Kanter had lost a lot of weight. For a while, I did try to preserve his listed weight in the infobox, although I had to deal with stuff like this. Eventually, I found the game notes (which are basically a program for each game), and saw that the number there was closer to Kanter's reported new weight. Since the game notes are published by the NBA, I figured they were good enough, and I thought that using them would satisfy the people pushing for 242 lbs. (The annoying thing about the game notes is that the links aren't permanent, but the latest game notes show the same weight as before.) Zagalejo^^^ 00:37, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
Los Angeles D-Fenders
Hello DaHuzyBru; you may have noticed that through out December 2012 I worked on the D-Fender article. Of course, being a NBA Development Team, the roster of the D-Fenders is subject to change on an almost daily basis. While updating the article this posed a concern for me as to how frequent I (or anyone) else should cause an update to made.
As something of a fan I attend many home games and am aware of roster changes (the D-Fenders had one this evening). As of this evening, the D-Fenders anticipate making 3 such changes next week [insider information/of course I would not edit until announcements are made]. It is enough to drive one batty but perhaps you have a better way? I see you have effected two recent changes.
Are these changes tied to a source such as the NBA home office transaction records so that I will need not concern myself with this area (roster) in the future? Please let me know, thank you, ChristopherDBoyle (talk) 09:30, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Josh Owens
A couple of points on your edit to Josh Owens regarding stubs and external links.
The stub tag doesn't seem needed as its beyond a sentence or two that says he plays basketball and nothing else. Wikipedia:WikiProject_National_Basketball_Association/Assessment#Quality_scale describes a stub as "little more than a dictionary definition." This seems to go beyond that and at least one sentence each about his high school, college, and pro career. It seems like a start-class not a stub.
The external link to http://www.usbasket.com/player.asp?Cntry=USA&PlayerID=136552 is from usbasket.com, even if it is owned by Eurobasket Inc. Saying it's Eurobasket.com is analogous to labeling a link to http://grantland.com as espn.com.—Bagumba (talk) 02:52, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
Jonas Valanciunas
(Duhon) has been reverting Valanciunas' height and weight to the NBA.com listings, while he has been denying this http://blog.raptors.com/press-releases/raptors-announce-training-camp-roster/, even though he admitted that the raptors.com site and nba.com were one and the same. I suspect that he has an alternate account by the name of (Brodey) which he used to change Enes Kanter's height and weight, in the wake of my rebuttal of "Look at Enes Kanters NBA listing and Wikipedia page" to his argument of "all NBA players on Wikipedia have their heights and weights listed according to NBA.com". Both (Duhon) and (Brodey) coincidentally have an intense interest in Hollywood North and a .jpg of LeBron James that may or may not have copyright infringements. Trade
That specific trade does not seem to be official; the link says, "the deal had not been announced and was still pending league approval". NBA.com often reprints Associated Press articles, which is annoying, because it's not clear to most readers where the information comes from. I don't see any press releases from the teams themselves. Zagalejo^^^ 02:42, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
- Looks like it's official now: [7] Zagalejo^^^ 05:27, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
- The Kings-Rockets trade, anyway. I don't see anything about Marcus Morris. Zagalejo^^^ 05:29, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
Dwayne Jones
Paul George
I've thought about it, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. It's a difficult case. I couldn't really prevent the changes without long-term semiprotection, but I'm worried that would be overkill. Pending changes is another possibility, but there's a good chance drive-by reviewers would just approve the height changes anyway. Zagalejo^^^ 21:43, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
Deadlinks
I fixed the refs that your edit removed at Malcolm Thomas (basketball, born 1988), presumably because the link did not have 2011–12 transactions anymore. With the new season, it got moved to http://www.nba.com/dleague/transactions_201112.html. In the future, you can consult WP:DEADLINK for these situations. It turns out that webcitation.org had an archived page that could have been used even if nba.com didn't still have it. At any rate, DEADLINK advises, "do not delete a URL solely because the URL does not work any longer." Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 08:54, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Xavier Silas
Just curious, have you read anything lately about Xavier Silas? I can't find anything specific about him leaving the Red Claws, except for an entry in a RealGM list. Thanks. Zagalejo^^^ 16:33, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
- He's still listed here, though as an inactive player. Zagalejo^^^ 16:38, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hmm, that's weird that they have two roster pages. For what it's worth, the one with a capital R in the URL is the one that the team's home page actually links to. Silas is also listed in the roster (as inactive) in the March 14th media notes: [8]
- What concerns me is that I don't see any press releases or transaction list entries that say he was waived or released. The closest thing I found was an item at RealGM's Red Claws page [9], but the D-League's official transaction page merely says he was deactivated that day [10].
- Anyway, I tried to be purposely vague when editing the Silas article, so hopefully, that will be accepted as a compromise. It does sound like his season is over because of a shoulder injury. Zagalejo^^^ 05:05, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

I saw your edit to add accessdate to a citation. Usually, if archiveurl and archivedate are provided, I consider accessdate somewhat redundant. Accessdate is meant to provide a known date where the web page was last working, in case the like ever dies. Archivedate provides similar info (plus the link is already archived and less likely to ever die). No issue if you want to add it, just trying to save work if possible. Luke Martin infobox conversion
Hi DaHazyBru- I was doing a lot of NBL infobox conversions and ran across Luke Martin. Noel/Holiday
That page at NBA.com is a just an Associated Press article. They often publish those, which makes things confusing. The Pelicans' website still has Nerlens Noel featured on the home page, so I don't think a trade has officially happened. There might be salary cap issues that will push things into July. Or who knows, the trade might not happen at all. (It seemed like a dumb deal to me.) Zagalejo^^^ 17:19, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

TemplateData is here
Hey DaHuzyBru
I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).
So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.
What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.
The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.
Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 22:19, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Tony Allen
I decided to give up fighting over Tony Allen (and others in the same situation). I figure if a player is staying with his old team, then we might as well leave it alone. Technically, he's not under contract with anyone at the moment, but there are so many other uphill battles that I've decided to draw a line somewhere. (At least, I'm not going to fight over the infobox. If someone writes, "Allen signed a contract on July 2," I'd still remove that, because it's wrong.) Zagalejo^^^ 05:11, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Article title of "Medi Bayreuth"
Hi, I saw you moved the article "Medi bayreuth" to "Medi Bayreuth". Is there a policy on English Wikipedia regarding brand names? You know, I never did see that page. It is an actual press release, and like you say, he's on their official roster with a number. It seems that some minimum salary deals can actually be completed during the moratorium [12], so I'm guessing this is official. Zagalejo^^^ 02:04, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
Question
What do you think about Wayne Ellington and Monta Ellis. Both are listed in http://www.nba.com/mavericks/roster/2013, but there was no official announcement anywhere else. Should we update them to List of 2013–14 NBA season transactions?—Chris!c/t 04:02, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
- I don't know what to make of the Mavs' roster. I was hoping something would be clarified by the time I got home from work today, but the only official announcement is that they have traded the draft rights to Nick Calathes.
- According to the latest reports, the Mavericks had to waive Josh Akognon and Bernard James in order to make space for Ellis:[13]. So, at least as of yesterday, it seems that they had not finalized a deal for Ellis. This article from the Mavericks' website briefly says that the Mavs are "already rumored to be involved in other signings that haven’t been announced by the team". (That said, I see no official statement about Akognon or James, so who knows.)
- The transactions page at NBA.com has gotten several things wrong. For example, Omri Casspi and Chauncey Billups were both listed there long before their teams announced anything. (Billups was also listed on Detroit's official roster for about a week before the Pistons sent out a press release.) Unfortunately, there is no reliable one-stop source for all of the transactions. InsideHoops has come closest, but even they still miss things. Zagalejo^^^ 00:06, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
- This summer, the Mavericks have been releasing press releases. They aren't always available on their own website, but I've found them published on InsideHoops and the MavsWiki. Some other things are announced on the Mavs' Twitter. I do believe there will be some sort of clear announcement regarding Ellis. He's a fairly high-profile acquisition, so I assume they'd make a big deal out of it. Zagalejo^^^ 00:12, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Jack Salt
Hi, just wondering where did you get the source for Jack Salt being signed as a NZ Breakers DP? I couldn't find any info about this signing on the net. Cheers. 203.59.125.104 (talk) 07:28, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
Aaron Gray
I don't think he's a free agent. He had a player option, which he supposedly exercised: [15]. I don't see him included in any other free agent lists.
Last year, there was a similar situation with Matt Carroll, whom NBA.com listed as a free agent all summer. However, he was still under contract (with Charlotte). Zagalejo^^^ 00:12, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
Football pics
The Mike McCoy pic is obviously copyrighted [16], so most likely none of them are usable. Sigh. Zagalejo^^^ 04:10, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
Jeremy Tyler and other numbers
The roster templates for these teams say these numbers. Why would they say that if those numbers cannot be viewed on the respective players' pages? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miamiheat631 (talk • contribs) 02:22, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
Garcia, etc
The Garcia deal was announced here: [17].
I haven't played Tekken in years, so I can't comment on Dante Chu (though the name doesn't ring a bell). I'll just let that proposed deletion run its course. Dion Prewster is a real basketball player [18] [19] [20] [21], and is at least notable enough to avoid speedy deletion. That article might benefit from a broader discussion, like Articles for Deletion. Zagalejo^^^ 23:59, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I guess the Dante Chu article originally said he was a basketball player, not a Tekken character. I don't know what's going on there, but I'm sure the page will be deleted eventually. Zagalejo^^^ 00:09, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Brad Williamson - semi pro teams
Is there a consensus not to add semi-pro teams to the club history? Seems link the club history should document all the person's organized club history or it gets confusing for the reader. I looked at the team's site and there is an American player (Justin Watts) on the roster. If I were creating an article for him I'd absolutely include his current club. Just trying to learn here. Rikster2 (talk) 12:07, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
Alister MacDonald & Matthew Andronicos
Hi, just wondering where did you get the source for those two being retained by their respective NBL clubs as DPs? I couldn't find any info about those signings on the web. Thanks. 101.119.31.50 (talk) 01:40, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
Toure Murry
I'm not sure about this one. It looks like Sportando is only citing Marc Stein's Twitter. (And they begin the post with "Hearing...") If something is officially announced, Sportando is usually pretty good about linking to the team's own statement. Zagalejo^^^ 23:18, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
The comma convention
In regards to this page move, where you quoted that it is "wikipedia convention" to use a comma, where was this convention discussion agreed upon? Doing a dump of all pages in the Category:Players of Australian rules football, we have 28 (Australian footballer born 19XX), 9 (Australian rules footballer born 19XX) and 68 (footballer born 1XXX) and now 1 (footballer, born XXXX). For the sake of project consistency with the other 105 commaless birthdate dabbed footballers, I'd really prefer for it to be moved back. Cheers, The-Pope (talk) 16:33, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick reply. It's just one of those things, I guess. The subtle difference might be "basketball" vs "basketball player", "football vs footballer". (occupation born 1990) sort of makes sense as the person who is that politician, footballer or artist was born, but (sport born 1990) does need a comma, as the sport wasn't born. And I agree it isn't a big deal... like I'm not going to go and change all of the (ice hockey) dabs to (ice hockey skater) or anything. Having a look around, it seems like it's a bit of a US vs Eng thing - most US Soccer players use (soccer), whilst British ones use (footballer). Occupation or sport. Some things are OK to be inconsistent, because it's too much wasted effort to change. The-Pope (talk) 01:41, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Help a university student edit a wikipedia article about Chris Smith!
Hey DaHuzyBru!
I'm Dan. I go to Cornell University, and one of my assignments for my class is to improve a Wikipedia article. My group members chose Chris Smith (basketball, born 1987), as you can see on that article's talk page. One of the elements of the assignment is to have a meaningful interaction with a few Wikipedia members who have edited the page. Is it ok if we edit the page and message you for guidance? Would you mind adding that page to your watchlist (if it is not on there already!) so you can help us out with this project? It would be much appreciated!
Input Requested - NBA Head Coaches/templates
There is a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Basketball Association/Archive 23#NBA Coaches/Franchise template to try to achieve some consensus around how NBA franchise head coaches are displayed in templates. As an experienced WP:NBA editor, your opinion is requested. Thanks. Rikster2 (talk) 20:06, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
Sichuan Blue Whales
From past experience, it's hard to know anything for sure about the CBA until box scores become available. I wouldn't be too strict about removing the teams from the Haddadi and Flynn pages, unless you happen to know Chinese and know where to look for this information. (I can't speak with much authority myself; I'm totally relying on Google translate.) Chinese sources seem to say that the players are confirmed to join the team [22], and that's probably as good a source as we'll get. I can't even find an official website for the team. It seems that Haddadi still has visa issues to work out, but people are just going to keep adding the teams, anyway. Zagalejo^^^ 17:23, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- BTW, I didn't have any specific reason for leaving the teams out of the main team field; I was just restoring what the IP had. (I've added the teams now.) Zagalejo^^^ 05:18, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for all your work. Sorry to leave so suddenly, but I'm just feeling burnt out, and need to step away for a while. Zagalejo^^^ 02:51, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
Antetkounmpo pronunciation
Just so you know, that's absolutely not how his name is pronounced. I tried to change this before and have this discussion, but people just keep changing it back. But absolutely it is true that his name is not pronounced that way in Greek. I don't know why it keeps being edited that way, because it's totally wrong. But I tried to change it several times and every time it got edited back and I was told that it was pronounced that way in Greek, even though it most certainly isn't. The pronunciation on his article is absolutely wrong though.Bluesangrel (talk) 00:24, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not talking about the spelling. I'm talking about how it says on the article "Greek pronunciation" then lists an incorrect pronunciation. The one editor said that was incorrect, and actually he was right about that. That was all I was saying. I mentioned that because, I tried to fix that before, and I got shot down on it. But it's a factual error on the article that does not ever get corrected, even with discussions, because some editors are steadfast on believing it's right, even though it actually isn't. I wasn't referring to the spelling. I previously proposed to just remove the pronunciation from the article, since it seems to be a debate, but that was shot down also.Bluesangrel (talk) 20:26, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Why did you revert the change? There is no such thing as the ANBL. It has always been the NBL has never been known as the ANBLHoldenV8 (talk) 05:08, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
So you're saying that to be able to know the difference between "NBL" and "NZNBL" there needs to be an A in front of NBL? I guess the NZ part didn't already make that clear..... If Wikipedia wants accuracy then NBL should be exactly that, not ANBLHoldenV8 (talk) 05:18, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks
Thanks, but two things. One -- he wasn't a two-time champion each year. Which is why we need the comma, which you deleted. Also, per MOS, 2xxx-yy is perfectly correct. Plus, it is fewer characters, so it makes it easier for the reader to skim -- communicating the same information in fewer characters has that effect. I'm happy reverting those myself, but wanted to drop you a word. Appreciate your help on the article. You can reply here if you want to reply at all. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 04:57, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- Have a look at every other basketball infobox career history. It has xxxx–xxxx. That is why i changed it back to that, it looks a lot better. xxxx–xx is good for i.e. 2013–14 NBA season. Why do you want it like that? DaHuzyBru (talk) 06:33, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- Have a look at MOS. Also, have a look at the rest of the article--what you added made the article internally inconsistent, using varying styles. Also, have a look at the seasons that are linked to. They are also xxxx-xx. In the article titles. Also, as to what "looks better" -- it doesn't look better to have different styles within the same article, and different styles than the articles linked to have in their titles, etc. And its ridiculous -- the extra digits impart ZERO information, and just take up space and reading time.--Epeefleche (talk) 06:36, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- Ep, don't start this again. The 8 digit years span went through a long debate on the MOS talk board (which you should remember because you actively participated) and there was no decree that there was any issue with it as a convention used by (nearly every) sports project. Therefore, no MOS issue. Rikster2 (talk) 11:06, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
- Wasn't aware of that, but I totally agree; Epeefleche. DaHuzyBru (talk) 13:07, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

- See MOS:YEAR (emphasis added) -- "A closing CE or AD year is normally written with two digits (1881–86) unless it is in a different century from that of the opening year, in which case the full closing year is given (1881–1986)."--Epeefleche (talk) 10:33, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Hedo Türkoğlu may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Infoboxes
DaHuzyBru - There are only about 40 NBL player > basketball biography infobox conversions left. I plan to get these done, but many are missing tenures for clubs, etc. so I'd appreciate it if you could check my work behind me to make sure I am getting the Australian/NZ team, HS, etc correct. Once 100% are converted I intend to have the NBL Player infobox deleted. Thanks! Rikster2 (talk) 14:52, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

how changing a ref to an NYT article to a Sydney paper that reprints the same article is considered a better ref. Funneling click revenues closer to home :-) Have a Happy New Year.—Bagumba (talk) 02:57, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
