Welcome! edit

Hello, Cristiansr 99, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page List of most-subscribed YouTube Music artists did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Literally what I wrote are facts, can't be against Wikipedia's verifiability policy. No way. Cristiansr 99 (talk) 23:50, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

I didn't see you provide any sources for their nationalities, and please read WP:FLAGCRUFTplacing a national flag next to something can make its nationality or location seem to be of greater significance than other things...emphasizing the importance of a person's citizenship or nationality above their other qualities risks violating Wikipedia's WP:NPOV policy. They are not on that list because of their nationality, nor are they notable for their citizenship or nationality. They are on that list because they are notable for their subscriber counts on YouTube Music. Look at any of their BLP articles, and you will not see any flags, and their citizenship or nationality is just mentioned as standard WP:BLP information. I know you are new to editing, but unnecessarily emphasizing citizenship or nationality, when it's not relevant or notable to their subscriber counts, and WP:FLAGCRUFT are undue in that article. Thanks. Isaidnoway (talk) 00:17, 27 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
The thing is that you can check their nationalities by going to their Wikipedia pages but you could add a source too, instead of deleting what other users add. And I see it says "can make its nationality or location seem to be of greater significance than other things" but that doesn't mean that it does, right? I think it depends in the person that is reading. And isn't their primary language also not the reason which they are on this list?
I think it's interesting enough to see their nationalities for someone who visits this page, but not the most important thing, that's why I put it on the last column (before languages). Cristiansr 99 (talk) 00:36, 27 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
The topic of the article is most-subscribed YouTube Music artists. That's what these artists are notable for, and the reason they are on the list. They are not on the list because of their citizenship or nationality, that's irrelevant, and no, their primary language isn't the reason they are on the list. Look at these other similar articles — List of most-subscribed YouTube channels, List of most-streamed artists on Spotify, List of most-followed Twitter accounts, List of most-followed Instagram accounts - no countries or flags, because they are irrelevant. You also wrote on the talk page of the article - a user called 'Binksternet' deleted it without any reason, but that's not true, he did give a reason → removing flags per MOS:FLAGCRUFT, the very same reason I am giving. Also, when replying to an editor in a threaded discussion, please remember to indent your reply, and a friendly reminder to discuss the content, not the editor, as you did on the talk page of the article, see Wikipedia:Focus on content not contributor. October 2021 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at List of most-viewed YouTube videos. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring, as you did at List of most-viewed YouTube videos. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 23:28, 13 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

March 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Emir of Wikipedia. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of most-followed Twitch channels, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 19:18, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Cristiansr 99! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of List of most-followed Twitch channels several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:List of most-followed Twitch channels, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 20:12, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Emir of Wikipedia you can verify the nationality on their own Wikipedia pages of the Twitch creators and also around the web, so I think is not necessary to add a source just as it's not on the other columns. If you think it is so necessary do it yourself instead of deleting other's people work and turning the page into something too simple - Cristiansr 99 (talk) 21:17, 08 March 2022 (UTC+2)

Please see Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a reliable source about being able to "verify the nationality". Also the WP:ONUS is on you if you think it should be kept in not me. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 20:22, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

THEN STOP ffs Emir of Wikipedia - Cristiansr 99 (talk) 21:24, 08 March 2022 (UTC+2)

Please stay WP:CIVIL. What do you want to stop? The reinserting of the unsourced information? I am happy to agree with you on that then. 🤝 (handshake emoji) -- Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 20:27, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at List of most-followed Twitch channels shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
