Tell City

edit

I did not replace the image of the William Tell statue in Tell City; Anna90 did (probably inadvertently). However, I have reverted it back to the original image. Omnedon (talk) 01:33, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, what is your question? If you provide the name of the user you wish to contact, I will be able to create a link for you. --The Helpful One (Review) 15:02, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello again. How do you make your username colorful?

Hi there, that Is my signature. If you look at the coding of my signature, I have added <font color="red" '''One''' </font> You simply have to use that, change the colour and the text "one" and apply that you your signature. Also, see Web_safe_colours#X11_color_names this for colour numbers to change it to, instead of using words such as "red". --The Helpful One (Review) 15:08, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hey! Remove the tags, to get: <font color="green" coolgyingman.

User Box

edit

Hi there,

I think it could be {{User:Feureau/UserBox/ubx-5}}

Which will produce:

ubx-5This user uses entirely too many userboxes.

Otherwise, check out Wikipedia:Userboxes/Userboxes -- for some more!

Nice use of user boxes by the way :D

Admin coaching request status

edit
You have expressed interest in undergoing the Admin coaching program. However, after reviewing your edit history, I feel you may need more experience editing (i.e., >2,500 edits & 4 months of activity) on Wikipedia before you can know for certain your ready to begin the process of becoming an administrator. Therefore, at this time, your application for Admin Coaching has been declined.

My suggestion would be to seek adoption from a more experienced user who can help you experience all of the various components of editing an encyclopedia. If you decide adoption is not for you, there is also the editor review process that may help you find areas to improve upon in our editing. If you would like to talk more about this, please feel free to leave me a note at my talk page. MBisanz talk 02:37, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE: Adoption

edit

Hi,

I think I would be able to adopt you (I haven't adopted anyone else before), but I'm not an adminstrator, so I might not be what you're looking for.

The Helpful One Review 17:18, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, I'm an admin now and I know quite a bit about editing on the wiki, so what do you need? :) The Helpful One 23:06, 25 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I'm BlueCaper. I am not an admin, but I have been here on Wikipedia for a year and a half. The only reason I am not requesting adminship is that my edit count is not over 200 (which is generally what the bureaucrat goes by to grant adminship). I have come to offer to adopt you.

I feel that I am capable of teaching you well on how to properly edit Wikipedia. I see that The Helpful One has already offered; I understand if you do not want me to adopt you. However, I have learned quite a lot of information on Wikipedia and am quite the enthusiast for Wikipedia.

I do not advocate vandalism, sock puppetry, or offensive language/imagery. I do advocate treating others with great respect as if they were the government who sheltered us with our nation(s), indiscrimination, and doing the best you can to help spread knowledge to the whole world. Sadly, I went alone into this Wikipedia world; no matter who it is, and as long as I can help it, I shall not let that happen again.

Please consider the offer. Thank you. BlueCaper (talk) 21:52, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello, who would you like to adopt you - BlueCaper or myself, I'd be happy to let BlueCaper adopt you if you wish :) The Helpful One 19:40, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Good luck under the mentorship of The Helpful One. I am elated that you have chosen to become adopted, as that is very humble of yourself. Good luck for the future, to you and THO. Long live Wikipedia! -BlueCaper (talk) 18:10, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Earthquake article

edit

Hi Coolgyingman, I edited the Fault Type section that you added to Earthquake because I felt it needed clarifying. Also I think that definitions of hanging wall and footwall and such like were out of place here, better for people that are interested in more details about faults to go to the Fault (geology) article IMO. WikiProject Space reorganization

edit

Hello WikiProject Space member! A discussion has been started regarding the future of WikiProject Space here; any comments you might have would be welcome! There are mainly two competing ideas:

  1. Centralize all the Space-related WikiProjects, such as Astronomy and Spaceflight, and merge them into WikiProject Space, or
  2. Separate the Astronomy and Spaceflight "sides" of WikiProject, and remove WikiProject Space.

If you can think of other options, that's great too. Your contribution to the discussion would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)
