DYK nomination of Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular Council edit

Hello! Your submission of Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular Council at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Chamal talk 02:17, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

KNA template edit

Love it! presume those are the figures for the outgoing Assembly? For the new one it might be worth splitting out the minority reserved seats and also linking by electoral alliance and between government and opposition (assuming thats how it plays out). I'll see if I can find one that does what I had in mind. AndrewRT(Talk)(WMUK) 22:32, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular Council edit

On July 14, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular Council, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Assyrians/Syriacs in X edit

Hi! Looks like you copied the multimove template on the talk pages and forgot to change the target page for each article, resulting in move templates like "Assyrians/Syriacs in AustraliaAssyrians in Georgia".[1][2][3][4][5][6] It's fixed now, just popped in to leave a notice so that you know it next time. Long awaited return edit

What's new this side of Wiki... It's been 2 years since I've edited the Assyrian people page.

Magi edit

Sallam old friend, hopefully you remember me from my days spamming the Assyrian People discussion during my brief identity crises lol. How is Iraq, I really hope the best safety for you and your loved ones. I have been very busy with studying, and to be honest the time I am writing this I should be writing an important assignment.

I remember you were very knowlegdable and interested in ancient history, both of the Church and Iraq, so just though this article might interest you: Biblical Magi

There are a bunch of Persian Nationalist degenerates spamming/vandalising that article with rubbish about the Maggi being Persian, a horrendous claim opposed to the well known tradition they were Babylonian/Mesopotamians. Some are even going as far as claiming it is their Persian practices that have ever since influenced those of Christianity! I have editted out some of that rubbish, but I'm sure they'll be back. I was hoping you, as well as other people you might know who are also intelligent in that field, could hopefully join the discussions and editting good sources you know to prove their claims wrong.

I would also try my very best to join and help you guys out with that, but unfortunately because of my studies, I wont be able to spend too much time trying to find sources. Also I am not getting emails of when people reply on wikipedia, so sorry if it takes a whole for me to get back. Do you know how I can make wikipedia send me emails like before?

Femallah akhi, and stay safe. Pink Princess (talk) 00:39, 19 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Chaldean! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 4 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 940 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Proposed deletion of Coşkun Sabah edit

The article Coşkun Sabah has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced BLP.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Conducting research on WikiProjects edit

We are professors at Carnegie Mellon University conducting research on how online groups operate, with a strong history of research on Wikipedia.

We would like to discuss collaborating with you with the goals of both improving integration of new members into your WikiProject as well as advancing the understanding of the science behind online groups.

Our recent research has shown that joining a WikiProject boosts editors' contributions to the project substantially, and that specific kinds of interactions between existing project members and newcomers encourage newcomers to contribute more and longer. We are now working on translating these findings into interventions that will increase the vitality of WikiProjects, helping them attract, motivate, and retain members who are knowledgeable and able to contribute to the project.

We have identified your project (Assyria) as an initial candidate that we would love to work with moving forward based on your participants and the amount of assessment work your project needs accomplished. Please feel free to contact me (Prof. Robert Kraut robert.kraut@cmu.edu) with any questions and to find out more.

Information about our research can be found at http://community.hciresearch.org/content/improving-socialization-newcomers-wikiprojects.

If you are interested in this collaboration please contact Rosta Farzan at rfarzan@cs.cmu.edu or leave a note at Rosta Farzan's talk page at (talk)

File permission problem with File:Kakovich.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:Kakovich.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. IngerAlHaosului (talk) 13:35, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Sargon Dadesho edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Sargon Dadesho. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sargon Dadesho. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:18, 4 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Iraq Elections edit

I have here a source with the election results of the Iraqi governorate elections, 2009, however I do not speak Arabic. So could you help with thie article by translating this information? Kermanshahi (talk) 17:13, 8 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Do you also have a document with the actual numbers of votes in it? Kermanshahi (talk) 14:40, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK, sent it to me please. Is it in English? Kermanshahi (talk) 16:19, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see you've added the numbers. But could you please help with the total results? Since not all parties won seats in all governorates I can't see how many total votes they have. For now I just took the percentage of the total votes but ofcourse this is inacurate. I'm planning to update it by adding the numbers which you have put on the article up and using percentages for the provinces I don't know to it, but this won't be completely accurate either. I'd appreciate if you could add the real full results. Kermanshahi (talk) 14:42, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Mor hanayo monastery.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Mor hanayo monastery.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [7], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. About your entry on Tel Skuf discussion edit

Iraqi,

I don't care about what Assyrians say on Wiki. I am representing my village. WE THE PEOPLE OF TELSKUF alone have the right to name ourselves, and not someone who doesn't even know where TelSkuf is!!! Your fights are of no interest to us. You can call yourselves anything, but stay away from Telskuf. Assyrians have always tried to misrepresent truth. Do you think this is the right way of our unity? Until there is a balanced, unbiased, and fair name for our people, Tel Skuf will remain Chaldean. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tisqupnaia2010 (talkcontribs) 19:40, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, me fellow iraqi. can you please look at this user's talk page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Kermanshahi and try an read the links i provided for him since his excuse to refuse the sources i provided is that he can't understand arabic. he doesnt even want to accept the fact that these results are final and that aliraqiya list got higher number of votes in kirkuk compared to the kurdish list. its true that both lists got 6 seats each and the differnce was relatively small but afterall aliraqiya won the majority regardless of what he thinks!!! i provided numerous links and he rejected all of them:

File source problem with File:Sargon of Akkad.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Sargon of Akkad.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:22, 13 June 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. James F. (talk) 13:22, 13 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Emita Babazadeh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Zayya 08:51, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Winnipegfreepressaugusthu2.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Winnipegfreepressaugusthu2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned non-free image File:SennacheribagainstJodea.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:SennacheribagainstJodea.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed.   Your addition to Tel Keppe has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. I have therefore deleted the article. If you continue to infringe the copyright of others, you will be indefinitely blocked from editing.  Sandstein  23:45, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
