If there're so many duck evidence, Werieth should have been blocked now. Why admins don't block him that? By the way, I think a Checkuser in both mw: and here is probably not legalimate since Betacommand is not Global banned. However, I still hope a Checkuser can be done to solve the question of community (and also me).--GZWDer (talk) 11:42, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

Oh, I read your comment on Werieth's talk page. I think a lot of users thinks that SPI is only RFCU, however everyone are welcome to send some evidences if it's a duck.--GZWDer (talk) 11:47, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
I'm trying to find more evidences to support Werieth's sock puppetery and block evadion (like this one, whlie Werieth don't run any bot in enwiki), but I'm waiting the most important evidence -- Checkuser result or Betacommand's statement. I think it's time to contact Betacommand, and:

Betacommand is ready to appeal the ban. Note Technical 13's support is after Werieth's block. However, you should be careful and think what you should write to Betacommand before sending an email.--GZWDer (talk) 09:36, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

Wikilinking

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

This applies to infoboxes, too.

Thanks, and my best wishes.

Tony (talk) 09:16, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Yes, I know, I don't normally link years, I assume it happened because I copied and pasted the filmography from Italian WP and I forgot to delink the years. However thank you for fixing the article. Bye, Cavarrone 09:52, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:MV5BMTY4MzkxOTEyMF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNTcyNTUyMQ@@. V1 SX214 AL .jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. BLP violation warning

You are breaking our WP:BLP policy which states in its opening "Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced – whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable – should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion". BLP removal is NOT subject to our 3 reverts policy but adding it most certainly is as well as being a bloackable offence in itself. What you need to do is get reliable sources for the names, you CANNOT discuss this issue further in order to evade your duties to fulfill our BLP policy here♫ SqueakBox talk contribs 13:04, 3 August 2014 (UTC)

Since when did you acquire the notion that self-published books by non-notable, non-expert individuals with no discernible reputation for reliability can be used as sources for BLP content? And a self-published website reposting a user comment from IMDB is somehow better? Why does the impulse to retain porncruft drive experienced users to stray so far from simple WP standards regarding reliable sources? The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo) (talk) 20:25, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

Formal mediation has been requested

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "Porn and BLP". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 31 August 2014.

Discussion relating to the mediation request is welcome at the case talk page. Thank you.

FYI

You're unfortunately on some kind of future hit list by someone that you might recognize. Guy1890 (talk) 20:26, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Not a hit list, just a record of BLP violations. ♫ SqueakBox talk contribs 20:27, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
Guy1890, thank you for the report. SqueakBox, you are kindly invited to delete the page, as it no serves no practical purpose other than continuing a personal battle that incidentally you seem to have lost. You know, this game is a kind of game everyone could play, especially against editors like you: given your log record of warnings, ANI discussions about your behaviour, blocks, indefinite blocks, it would not difficult creating User:xyz/Examples of disruptive behaviour by SqueakBox. Delete the page and drop the stick, once and for all. --Cavarrone 21:50, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
It is not a game, it is not a battle, and I have not lost anything. If you want we can go to mediation but given that BLP violators were trying to get ME topic banned I am well within my rights to log BLP violations. of cporuse you are welcome to log my edits too, obviously, biut you wont find that I have made any BLP violations. And I havent even started with the personal attacks against me for DARING to enforce BLP against a group of determined editors who dont weant to see it enforced on porn. In terms of harrassing me on and off wikiepdia you are clearly the worst offender. ♫ SqueakBox talk contribs 21:56, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
"Harrassing you on and off wikiepdia"? this one is funny, especially as I don't care one bit about what do you do off wikipedia. If you have concerns, you are welcome to start a topic in the proper places, ie AN, surely not allowed to start an attack page like this one. And for the record, you listed there just "4" editors, while the ones who reverted you there were several more. As I said, delete the page and drop the stick, period. --Cavarrone 22:05, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
The list merely records BLP violaqtions, if you know of any I have missed pñlease let me know and I will add them. making records like this is not an attack page, that would be like using my personal space to launch attacks on editors where all i ahve done is record publicly available diffs that violate BLP, as the page states. So I wont be deleting it as that would be not being transparent, after all I could easily have constructed the list off wikiepdia but I felt for the sake of transparency to do so onwiki. ♫ SqueakBox talk contribs 22:14, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
About your mediation request, I refused. AfD is closed, names were restored, I don't see the point of keeping on discussing on it. Clearly you seem to not accept the outcome... sorry. About the list, user space is not for keeping record of editors with whom you disagreed. Then delete it. Cavarrone 22:43, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Nicholas Carthy (conductor)

Hello Cavarrone, You've recently removed tags Nicholas Carthy (conductor), including overlinked, refimprove, and lead too short. Regarding overlinked, the article is fairly short, but has dozens of wikilinks. They seem to be to almost every location and institution listed plus a few more words. Visually, about half the article is linked, and in most cases the links don't provide much value to understanding the subject. This is probably the most severe instance of overlinking that I've seen. For refimproved, the article relies almost exclusively on one source for the references, and there appear to be multiple statements (about a living person) without any citation at all. I don't see how the references don't need to be improved. And for lead too short, WP:LEADLENGTH is pretty clear that based on the length of the article that the lead is too short. Additionally, it says "The length of the lead should conform to readers' expectations of a short, but useful and complete, summary of the topic. A lead that is too short leaves the reader unsatisfied". Can you clarify your decision to remove the tags? Thanks. WyattAlex (talk) 14:02, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your help! The last part of that Italian phrase is an idiom, so the literal translation was confusing. I think the translation is much better now. Townlake (talk) 17:34, 26 November 2014 (UTC)

D'Ambrosio

Hi Cavarrone, thanks for moving the page Alfredo d'Ambrosio. I'm here today not to complain, but to understand the reason why. IMSLP lists this composer as D'Ambrosio, different from the German or the Russian Wikipedia. In other words, it's just like saying "von Beethoven", not Von Beethoven, or "aus der Ohe", not Aus Der Ohe, or even "van Huisen", not Van Huisen, you understand ? I guess we're kinda related once my language is Portuguese. I've checked D'Ambrosio, and there's only one Jérôme d'Ambrosio listed differently. Can you please reference your move on D'Ambrosio, Alfredo ? Thanks and success on your approach. Krenakarore TK 00:12, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

@SqueakBox:, how the inclusion of external links about your personal business is acceptable per WP:USERPAGE? This is my only question. "Generally, you should avoid substantial content on your user page that is unrelated to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so your user page is not a personal website." These two links appears TO ME as a violation of WP:UP#PROMO, ie. "Promotional and advocacy material and links: Advertising or promotion of an individual, business, organization, group, or viewpoint unrelated to Wikipedia (such as commercial sites or referral links)." Am I wrong? Please explain me why. I am certainly NOT trolling, and I welcome a justification that does not make it necessary to remove the links. And your hostile responses are not of any help. Give me a relevant response or just remove the links, otherwise you are just forcing me to raise the issue at WP:ANI. And the point you have provided no specific response about those two links will be noted as well. PS, did you realized those links out your identity? Cavarrone 20:35, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

Happy New Year Cavarrone!

Come on back...

There seems to have been a terrible lack of WP:BEFORE at the discussion, and the nom's response to you acts as if those three sources were the only sources ever. I do not think a early close would out of line. Schmidt, Michael Q. 11:51, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Link to category versus putting a page into a category

  • Please note that, in a Wikipedia page, say page [[X]], [[Category:Y]] puts page X in category Y, and [[:Category:Y]] (with an extra colon) inserts in page X a link to category Y. In this edit I took the liberty of correcting this mistake for you in a message that you inserted: see its edit comment. Sorry. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 12:15, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

Can you help on the Justin Capra - a person named Biruitorul is repeatedly deleting all my work?

I see you are a person who wrote many articles, so you know better than me about how to write an article. This is why I am asking you, you also have read the article Justin Capra and said it had references in the form it was.

Is there anything wrong with my original article Justin Capra, deleted and replaced twice in the last couple of days by Biruitorul with his own version of the facts?

First, Biruitorul wanted to have the article "Justin Capra" speedy deleted.

Now, after Wikipedia decided "keep" / "no delete" on the article, Biruitorul deleted everything from the article (all the person inventions, all the references including Associated Press, CNN, Yahoo News and other trusted sources), so he deleted everything else and wants to keep an article which only mimics what an obscure lawyer Lehto wrote in his book.

"Biruitorul", who by the way, his wiki name in Romanian archaic means "the winner", is, in my opinion, other than someone who self characterize himself as a nationalist person who clashes with other people opinions, a person that fights too much for his own view, by deleting, in this case, other people contributions.

Why do we need to have just Lehto's view on the subject, when there are many other trusted sources, and Justin Capra has indeed invented many other things, not only the "claimed" jetpack.

Sorry for repeating myself, and sorry if I made any mistakes writing here to you, the article was deleted by Biruitorul and replaced with his own version based predominantly on a book by a lawyer named Lehto. I then included his changes in my old article, but I find again he deleted all the union of my article and his article, replacing everything with his short version of the article. Basically this person did this deletion of my article and replaced it with his own version of the article twice. I don't have time and I don't want to spend time on this game of replace of articles. How can I fix in Wikipedia this article which is repeatedly deleted and replaced with another version? This kind of behavior of a person continuously replacing an existing article with his own version that is poorer in information and in facts. He is even replacing with his own version a combined version of the articles which contained his version.

Can you please help - let me know what can be done?

What can be done in Wikipedia to prevent this delete/replace or how can this be mediate to come to a resolution based on both articles?
