Speedy deletion nomination of TheRunawayGuys (TRG) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on TheRunawayGuys (TRG) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Lettlerhello 21:30, 14 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Pokémon Pink RfD edit

Hello, Captain Galaxy. As you can see by the responses at your RfD submission, WP:AFC/R is where you can submit for the AfC participants to create a new redirect. I'd also be willing to create this based on what you have presented and the current article section content. However, before you go to AfC or I create it, it looks like you should be able to create this yourself since you should be WP:Autoconfirmed soon, so I thought I'd point out how to do so. Note that if you create it, it will be usable immediately; however, it is still subject to a new page review from the WP:NPP participants, and if it is not suitable/referenced/verifiable, it may be deleted. (Shouldn't be an issue in this case.) This information can also all be found at this help page: Help:Redirect

You were recommending creation of Pokémon Pink. That appears as a red link, so you should be able to click it and access a page creation page that says "Creating Pokémon Pink". A redirect page in its most simple form is one line of content taking the format: #REDIRECT PAGENAME#SECTION NAME
And you would replace PAGENAME and SECTION NAME with what where you want the redirect to take you. In this case PAGENAME=Pokémon Yellow, and SECTION NAME=Pokémon Pink. So the most basic redirect you can create out of this is #REDIRECT Pokémon Yellow#Pokémon Pink. If you just copy/paste that into the text box and click submit, that will create the redirect.

Additionally, redirect category shells can be added to provide some extra information on what the redirect is. These are slightly more advanced, but it just requires adding templates for redirect categories. You can read more about that at WP:REDCAT if you like, but the categories I would add are R to section since you are going to a section of the Pokemon Yellow page, and maybe R from subtopic. (When NPP gets to your redirect, they will probably add these if you don't.) Additionally, you may want to create Pokemon Pink with the same exact content since it is a common possibility to not include an accent when typing in a search box. Feel free to copy/paste if you like, but if I were to create the page it would say:

Collapsed Example

#REDIRECT Pokémon Yellow#Pokémon Pink

Which will look something like:

#REDIRECT Pokémon Yellow#Pokémon Pink

Happy editing! -2pou (talk) 20:09, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • @2pou: Thank you so much for this information, this should really come in handy in the future. I just have a question to ask, do I put #REDIRECT Pokémon Yellow#Pokémon Pink at the top of the Pokemon Yellow article or in the specific Pokemon Pink section of the article. -Captain Galaxy (talk) 20:29, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
No, you would not edit anything in Pokemon Yellow or the Pokemon Pink section of Pokemon Yellow. You want to get to a page that says "Creating Pokémon Pink" that is entirely separate from any page you would click "Edit" on. The easiest way to do that is to click the red links that say Pokémon Pink because when you click a red link, Wikipedia prepares that page for creation for you. The layout will be something like this: -2pou (talk)
Collapsed New Page Text

Creating Pokémon Pink

  • Bullet 1 of recommendations for new page creation
  • Bullet 2...Bullet 4

Copyright warning

Text Box (paste the #Redirect info here)

  • @2pou: I've done it, I want to say thank you again. -Captain Galaxy (talk) 21:34, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Nice work! I'm glad I could help. I noticed you decided to forgo including the specific link to the #Pokémon Pink section. Did you intentionally decide not to include that, or did you still want a direct link to the section? If you don't think it's necessary, then the R to section category isn't necessary anymore. -2pou (talk) 22:25, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
    @2pou: Don't worry, I've fixed it. -Captain Galaxy (talk) 22:51, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

PlayStation 5 list change edit

Could you edit and apply the changes that are applied to PS4 and Xbox One lists? I assume the current list are going similar to the Nintendo Switch list, which is an entirely different list. Thank you! Zacharyalejandro (talk) 22:15, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

On the editing side of them, you can see they are split up and not shoved between one another similar to the List of Nintendo Switch games (A–L) and List of Nintendo Switch games (M–Z) which these are entirely different from another company. I don't want them to look the same. If you see where I'm going with this. Zacharyalejandro (talk) 22:29, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

RfD relisting edit

I noticed you Relisted a bunch of RfD discussions unnecessarily. When an RfD has only delete votes, the default result per WP:RGUIDE is delete—so those should be left to admins. For more information, be sure to check out WP:RELISTBIAS and WP:Relisting can be abusive. -- Tavix (talk) 22:10, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Tavix: My apologies if I have messed anything up and I hope I haven't ruined anything. I will have a look further into the guidelines. I only relisted discussions that didn't have either a clear consensus or barely had any discussion on it. I guess I have a lot to learn on here. Thanks for the help. Closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Janeese Lewis George edit

Hi Captain Galaxy, and I hope all is well! I noticed that you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Janeese Lewis George as keep, but the votes are pretty split, and I don't think that it was an obvious keep. Per WP:NACD "Close calls and controversial decisions are better left to admins". I'd consider this a close call (by my count there are six keep votes and six for deleting or draftifying), and would appreciate it if you re-opened it, leaving closure to an admin. If you'd rather, we could discuss further at deletion review. I'd just consider the closure not as obvious as perhaps you did, nothing wrong with that. Best wishes, Eddie891 Talk Work 19:07, 16 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Woodcutting relist edit

Hey, I just came across your relist of Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2020_June_13#Woodcutting from a week ago. That discussion should have been left to an admin to close as either no consensus or with a compromise solution that accounts for the lack of consensus. It is incredibly rare for RfD discussions to be relisted three times, and in this case there was explicit discussion suggesting that a true consensus was going to be unlikely given the existing split of votes and arguments. signed, Rosguill talk 21:13, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Rosguill: My apologises for any inconveniences of which my mistakes may have caused. Is there any way for the relisting to be reverted? Captain Galaxy (talk) 21:16, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Nah don't worry about it, at this point it's already been a week since the relist so the discussions can just be closed by an admin. Even if the week hadn't gone by, trying to undo the relist would have been more trouble than it's worth. signed, Rosguill talk 21:18, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Rosguill: That's good to hear. In future, I'll keep my activity on afd and rfd at a bare minimum until I become more accustomed with Wikipedia's rules as it seems I cause a lot of problems for people, not that I mean to. I hope in future we can together on better terms. Thanks! Captain Galaxy (talk) 21:21, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
I wouldn't say that you need to stay away from those areas, but maybe focus on participating directly in the discussions rather than relisting them. There's a lot of unwritten norms around relisting that only become apparent when you've participated in discussions for a while. signed, Rosguill talk 21:23, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

NAC challenge edit

Hi Captain Galaxy, please reconsider your non-admin closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kazutaka Kodaka. As you closed it, there are three !votes for keep, two !votes for redirect (which is NOT keep, it’s closer to delete than it is to keep), and the original nomination which for all intents and purposes is a delete !vote. By that count, that’s not a keep. That’s usually a relist. Red Phoenix talk 16:14, 28 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Red Phoenix: Hi, I'm sorry for the NAC closure and I'm glad it's open again. I closed it because I thought it was 3 !votes for keep and 1 !vote to redirect. Sorry again for any inconvenience, thanks for the notice. Captain Galaxy (talk) 21:12, 28 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

NAC edit

I just came here to inquire about this close which I find to be inappropriate. Considering your very short tenure here, I'd like to ask you to stop NACing for hte time being. AFDs are not a count of votes - had I noticed this at the time, I would have challenged your close. An NC was inappropriate and should have been left to an admin based on the substance of the comments - two "keeps" by two people who have extensively edited the article(s) in question and one account which is a clear SPA have no weight. I notice this is a frequent problem based on the complaints on your talk page, so again, I'd like to reiterate my request you stop doing non-admin closures. Thanks. Praxidicae (talk) 14:28, 29 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Praxidicae: Hey, I'm sorry for the inconviances I have caused. You'll be happy to know I stopped doing this now and don't plan to in the future, this just happened to be a remnant from two weeks ago. I have reopened the discussion to get a better consensus. Thanks. Captain Galaxy (talk) 15:26, 29 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
I was not kidding when I asked you to stop closing AFDs at best, this would be a NC in your case since it's all you can do. Please fix it. An admin could also delete it since it has no substance in the only two keep votes, one of which is an SPA and the other is someone heavily involved in the article and paid to do so. Praxidicae (talk) 11:05, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Praxidicae: OK, it's open and should stay there. I felt it was appropriate the first time to close as keep due to the outnumber. Please, I'm sorry. I don't want to get banned off of Wikipedia, I like what I do here and find it fun to help the encyclopedia. My apologises for this. Captain Galaxy (talk) 15:11, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

WP:FFD NACs edit

You have had plenty of warnings here about your WP:BADNACs. I am writing to let you know that I will be reversing all four of your WP:NACs from WP:Files for discussion, since as an administrator with more than ten years of experience in that area of the site, they were likely too close to call (two of them having no discussion after being relisted by other admins who felt they were too close to call).  ★  Bigr Tex 03:04, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@BigrTex: Please go ahead, I'm clearly a problem a problem here and wish and any mistakes by mine are reverted. Captain Galaxy (talk) 08:46, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I apologize if that is what came across from my message. My impression is that you are enthusiastic and trying to be helpful. In these cases, it did not work but it did not hurt anything. If nobody ever noticed those closes, it would almost certainly have not caused any significant harm - at some point, one or more of the files might have been renominated. I hope you have found more constructive ways to feel helpful and contribute around here.  ★  Bigr Tex 23:17, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@BigrTex: You are right about me wanting to be helpful here. I did like to close discussions but I now fully understand I need to be on Wikipedia a bit longer before should do that. Don't worry, I am interested in making articles. Thank you for the message though. Captain Galaxy (talk) 09:03, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

An article you recently created, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Quit Cappin', Captain edit

No way you started these notable Nintendo game articles. You really beat everyone to making 51 Clubhouse Games? Or Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary? Wow. Le Panini (Talk tome?) 14:59, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • @Le Panini: Indeed I did, in fact not only did I create them and proceed to ask for them to be reviewed, but I also contribute most of the edits on them as well. Thank you for the interest! CaptainGalaxy 20:16, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Captain Galaxy:But how? Was it as soon as you got the notification, you created the article, or did nobody else try to? Le Panini (Talk tome?) 17:57, 24 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Le Panini: I did the articles when I feel like that there are games that need an article as they are notable. I usually do topics that no one else would likely do, the only time that didn't happen was when I did Phasmophobia as when I made the draft into an article, I discovered two others who were trying to a draft on the same article (fun fact: I was going to do Among Us however I felt the game wasn't notable, turns out I was very wrong). My recommendation is to check whether something is notable first before doing something like a draft. If you need help on what's reliable go here at WP:VG/S. Make absolutely sure, that an article on the topic or mentions of the topic in other articles. When you feel accomplished with a draft, you can either post the article to be reviewed by another more experienced user, or you can move the article into the Main article space. However, doing the second will eventually be under a review and can be deleted if it doesn't conform to standards. Hopes this answers your questions, thanks for the interest! Oh, and one more thing edit

Ahoy. I started creating a draft about the characters in Paper Mario: The Origami King because I'm bored and have nothing better to do except watch Youtube. You seem to have experience in this field (as in experience about fictional characters) and I want to get some opinions on it. It's still being created, I've only been working on it for 2 hours. Le Panini Talk 15:06, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Le Panini Hmmmmm, this is interesting. Ok, you might have with The Origami King characters by themselves. I really don't think talking about Vivian matters too much as everything talked about in the draft is covered in the article in much greater detail. If you can find good coverage on the other characters such as Tippi, Kersti and Huey then I'd 100% say go for it. However, with just the Origami King characters, they could actually be a good case to make that these characters can be merged and elaborated further on The Origami King article. Now, here's the unfortunate, despite my contributions to the article, I've haven't played the game, and I am trying my hardest not to get spoiled, that's why haven't edited the plot section. So I can't look and review the origami portion of your draft. I'd recommended asking a reviewer who has more experience than me and has played the game. The only thing I can say is find as many sources as possible and make sure the characters are prominently mentioned in said sources. Sorry if I wasn't much help. CaptainGalaxy 19:31, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Captain Galaxy, So you're suggesting the article should discuss the main companions (Tippi, Kersti, Huey, and Olivia). While I think other allies should be in the article, I can barely find anything talking about them, other than just saying their name. The article might be much more successful if it just accounts the main protagonist allies; like, the ones that stick around the whole game. I'll see what I can do about the other three, and decide whether or not I'll do something about other allies.
And you gotta play TOK. I don't know if you're simply a Nintendo fan, or one of those people who can't look beyond TTYD and not compare the games (because they're nothing alike), but its one of the year's highlights. Le Panini Talk 23:39, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Le Panini, Don't worry I'm planning on playing the game, I just don't have it yet. Also I've never played the first two games, out of the ones I've played Paper Mario: Color Splash was my favourite. CaptainGalaxy 08:59, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
