Speedy

Hi, Unpopular. I was just wondering with your edit here. First, a user's tagging for speedy deletion seems not valid, with reason "Non-notable movie". Second, you changed it to A7 which states that "Note that books, albums, software etc., or schools, are not eligible under this criterion." The page seems not legible for speedy, but could be prodded or AfDed. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 08:38, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Prodded[1]. Thanks --Unpopular Opinion (talk · contribs) 08:45, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the cooperation. Might as well notify the user. First speedy tagging, user wasn't notified. Thanks again. --Efe (talk) 08:48, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Looks like that article will just stay there (unless someone takes it to AfD). Prod removed by author. --Unpopular Opinion (talk · contribs) 16:21, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Crook

Hi, can you take a look at the comment on the Crook, Co. Durham talk page, and see what you think we should do for the population number for Crook? Should we put it at 8212, the number for the town itself (not surrounding villages), from the 2001 census. There is a citation being used, but it doesn't list any recent population numbers. I'll also contact 86.10.1.231. Thanks, Walkerma (talk) 16:45, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Simultaneous Social network editing

Question regarding vandal warnings

How does one add a link directly to the diff page in a vandal warning? And, if you know how, is it possible to do that through Twinkle? Tealwisp (talk) 22:58, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Huggle does that automatically. All the huggle templates can be found here; I guess you will have to make some changes in twinkle's code to use these templates. I'm sure someone at Wikipedia talk:Twinkle or Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts will give you a better idea about that, and maybe add this feature in TW. --Unpopular Opinion (talk · contribs) 06:28, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Keep up the good work

With hunting down vandalism, you have been doing a terrific job since you first became active only a month or two ago. But remember to take it easy and dont get yourself burnt out so to speak. I would rather see you make tons of edits over a long period of time rather than going for the wiki record in one month and then disappearing. Fighting vandalism can be tedious and hard work and i commend you, remember wikipedia will never stop and so will the vandals, but take a break here and then. Speedy Deletion

Hello

I see that you have put my pages up for deletion, i can see why you have done this and i will change the page to be more reflective on the subject. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I do have a question though, my rankings seem to have been affected after i posted these articles, does this have any effect on my rankings to what i've done on wikipedia?

Thank you for your time checking.

Shannon—Preceding unsigned comment added by Simon webmaster (talkcontribs)

Hi,
  1. I don't think I tagged your page for deletion, someone else did. I just reverted your edit when you removed the {{speedy}} tag. Apparently your articles were deleted due to notability issues.
  2. Your website's ranking is unaffected by wikipedia because this site uses the nofollow tags. -Unpopular Opinion (talk · contribs) 11:35, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Hello,

Kindly look at the edits you reverted no information was deleted. It was just reorganized and recompiled and format made uniform Because churika kettu repeated twice, Guru sankalpa and kuri had "malayalam words" used without proper english annotation and the format was not in uniform style. 90% of the article that you see was written by me. Then i saw that interesting things like guru sankalpa , kuri and few other informations were added by another user. This is well appreciated but the format needs to be more uniform and more english words explaining malayalam words had to be introduced . This is the reason i reformatted it.No information was lost. Hope you will understand.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.99.165.172 (talkcontribs)

Argos Hill Mill

Thanks for the revert. This was a good faith edit, as I have explained on the IP users talk page. If it was my personal choice, I would use the term "sweeps" when talking about mills in Kent and Sussex, but Wikipedia is worldwide, which is why I use "sails" for windmill articles. William Vandry vandalism

I wonder if you could monitor the page for William Vandry. Blindtruth is an ex-employee of William, and he is vandalizing the page. His references do not disprove the claims William makes, nor do they prove Blindtruth's claims.

Additionally, why were my posts changed on blindtruth's page, yet his were not reverted on my page?

Zombie Panic! Source page

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me protect the Zombie Panic! Source page. I've requested protection because of the multiple IPs adding crap to it, but the request was just cleared immediately. So I was wondering if you would want to lend me a hand trying to keep that article free of the nonsense some person is poised to keep adding. The person is not being warned about the vandalism, either. I've written about it on the talk page and on said user IP's talk page, but no result. Maybe it would be best to just get this guy blocked if the page can't be semi-protected...?Eik Corell (talk) 00:29, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

repeat offender

Hey Opinion,

I don't know what your status is in the hierarchy, but perhaps you have the power to administer blocks. You've warned User:145.118.196.4 for vandalism, giving a final warning on 11 November (but another 'regular' warning right after that). This user was at it again, pretty egregiously so, on Sinterklaas--see here. Could you bring down the hammer, please? Thanks, Drmies (talk) 15:14, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm not an administrator nor do I have teh hammer. It might not even be the same person who is vandalizing from that IP if its dynamic. Anyway I've left a level2 warning on his talk page for the recent vandalism. If he vandalizes again and again (after final warning) you can report them to WP:AIV and get 'em blocked. -Unpopular Opinion (talk · contribs) 15:36, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Hi Opinion, I've taken the liberty of reporting them, and he's been blocked for 72 hours. Thanks for your response, Drmies (talk) 16:43, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Unpopular, What's your take on the whole IWF/Wikipedia page controversy? I think that the IWF have gone too far considering that the album is 32 YEARS OLD... Do you think that we should make an online petition of all the Wikipedians who oppose the ban or...? DJ MeXsTa (talk) 11:11, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Been reading through the talk page and AN/I earlier today. I think it was not ok to block that page at this point when IWF itself is unsure about the image being illegal + their method of blocking is, as I hear, technically dumb. The foundation seems to be working on it[3]; I don't feel like jumping in but will sign any online petition set up by a major portion of the community if there is any..:)-Unpopular Opinion (talk · contribs) 12:33, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism of "2008 Zimbabwean cholera outbreak"

Unfortunately, the vandalism you tried to revert in the 2008 Zimbabwean cholera outbreak article is still alive and kicking i.e. ta mere te foure bitch, which obviously is Afro-French for something very rude. It's a great pity that the article can't be semi-protected to prevent vandalism. I'd protect the article myself if I could. - Nabokov (talk) 15:51, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Its something to do with the cache. If you click "Edit" and then save the page (without changing anything in the article) you will see the vandalism is gone. I don't think they will semi-protect the article at this point because its just one IP vandalizing that page, but if you ever need to request protection go to WP:RPP. -Unpopular Opinion (talk · contribs) 15:58, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

I think G10 is really to catch BLP violations that could be libellous. I don't think you can libel a dead person - at least they can't sue ;) Libel is a real danger on this place. But I had doubts about that article - JOSEPH marrying MARY and her getting preg by someone else..... Robbing a US President on tour in 1912? Secretly selling desks? Hello, Capricorn42. You have new messages at UlmPhysiker's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Dear Unpopular, thank you for your comment on the new page, "Rotational Brownian motion". As a practicing physicist, I have to disagree with your opinion. Rotational Brownian motion is certainly related to (translational) Brownian motion, which is the subject of an existing Wikipedia page. But, it is very much its own discipline, with its own extensive literature and its own applications. I hope that I can convince you not to convert this into a "redirect" page.UlmPhysiker (talk) 16:17, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
