Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Unreliable sources tag at Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting conspiracy theories

Hi Camyoung54, could you explain your tagging of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting conspiracy theories with {{unreliable sources}}? If I had to guess, you're probably referring to the primary sources from conspiracy theorists. While these would be inappropriate to explain the actual events of the shooting, they're not being used that way. They're being used simply to verify the existence of the theories themselves, which I believe is appropriate based on WP:PRIMARY. Please consider removing the tag, letting me know what you think here, or starting a discussion on the article's discussion page. See Wikipedia:Tagging pages for problems#Constructive tagging. Thanks, BDD (talk) 20:39, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi BDD, thanks for letting me know, I miss understood the use of the {{unreliable source?}} tag next to some of the references and thought it would be helpful to tag the article with {{unreliable sources}}. I understand now and realized I misused that template. Camyoung54 talk 21:40, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

There is not very much info. in the section because I just created it. It is possible that it should be a stub, but I see that the stubs are seriously backlogged. Winter storm naming

I just wanted to make you aware of this discussion I started at Winter storm naming. I have no intentions of making any changes to the article myself, but was just hoping to get input from editors previously involved in the article (or recently-closed AfD) in an effort to improve the article and clarify its purpose. I will leave any changes to the consensus of other editors who decide what's best. Your participation would be welcome, regardless of your views on the issue. Thank you. 76.189.111.199 (talk) 22:22, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Rabbit

Hello, I'm not sure if you regularly contribute to the article Rabbit or if you just came across it on a check of CAT:ESP (I assume from your edit history it's the latter, same as me). I was in the middle of declining the edit request that you incorporated, not because I disagreed with the request, but because the entire section was a copyright infringement. See my comment at Talk:Rabbit and let me know if you agree. I think that section needs to be rewritten ASAP as it contained really good information if not for the fact that it was copy-pasted. —KuyaBriBriTalk 15:17, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I agree. I only accepted the edit request because the numbers didn't make sense to me, however made more sense with the edit that was requested. I had no idea the section was a copyright infringement and definitely agree it needs to be rewritten since it is so similar to the page you mentioned on Talk:Rabbit. Answering SP edit requests

Hey there. First of all, thank you for your work with WP:SPER. However, when you answer a request asking for clarification or sources, could you change answered=no to yes in the {{Edit semi-protected}} template? Doing so saves other editors the trouble of looking at requests that have already been answered, and that can't be carried out anyway without further input from the original requester. Thanks.  — daranzt ] 07:11, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I will going forward. Thanks, Camyoung54 talk 20:17, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

Your request for rollback

Hi Camyoung54. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 19:22, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi there, I am Harry Taylor. I'm trying to remove personal information about myself, but you seem to keep undoing the changes. Under Wikipedia's policies, users are not allowed to blank a page without receiving general consensus from the community. If this policy is violated, the edit will be treated as vandalism and reverted. However in your case, I would propose the article for deletion, see WP:PROD and after ten days if no one objects to the deletion, the article will be deleted. But since olympians are quite notable, see WP:Notability it might be hard for the article to be deleted. - Camyoung54 talk 20:21, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

Regarding NMES and EMS

Hello, I wanted to comment on the opening article of electrical stimulation. I'm in a physical therapy program and in some sense we specialize electrical stimulation. My concerns were of electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) and neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) are actually not the same type of treatment. Nueuromuscular stimulation uses the peripheral nerve to stimulate muscular contractions with parameters that effect the motor fibers. Whereas, electrical muscle stimulation is used in treatments of denervated muscles with parameters that surpass motor-level stimulation. If you wrote that wiki, I would assume you have great insight into a lot of electrical stimulation and how it works. Let me know what you think. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.219.224.110 (talk) 02:04, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

I was not involved that wiki, however I patrol for vandalism. When I saw your edit, I noticed that you made commentary about the article in the article. Wikipedia welcomes edits opinions however when discussing the article, please discuss it on the articles talk page. I did not remove your edits because were wrong, but because it was talk with the article. Please place your above statement on the articles talk page to discuss with other edits and have the article changed. Thanks, - Camyoung54 talk 15:03, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Bainki

Your edit comment is not any different than that of the two bots who have already been reverted.  Did you have an additional reason for doing this?  Thanks, Unscintillating (talk) 23:45, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

Yes, before this was a double redirect and I directed it to the correct place. I don't understand why you reverted the bots who tried to fix the double redirect like me. - Camyoung54 talk 23:47, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
So your explanation is that the double redirect is "correct"?  How did you find this article?  I think that the double redirect is wrong, because this redirect will only be used by someone who doesn't know the name is really Bairiki, and if the user doesn't have Javascript enabled he or she may not even find the intended target.  I'm suspecting that I should make it a soft redirect.  Unscintillating (talk) 00:09, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
I found this double redirect at Special:DoubleRedirects, it compiles the list of double redirects in an attempt to get editors or bots to fix them. I directed Bainki to the place where Bairiki directed to, in order to have a single redirect on Bainki. There is no article for Bairiki, so the person would end up at South Tarawa even if they do know the correct name. Please leave the redirect the way it is. Thank you. - Camyoung54 talk 00:40, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Madagascar wagtail

Thanks for your note. I am not familiar with how to "remove speedy deletion tags" etc, but it seems to me that there exists a page called Madagascar Wagtail, and that Madagascar wagtail ought to redirect there. I haven't actually changed anything in case I misunderstood your note. DanielPAustin (talk) 20:31, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

The page was a double redirect in which it redirected to itself. These pages are considered not useful and are deleted, however I can recreate the page and direct it to the correct page if you would like me to. - Camyoung54 talk 20:37, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
I think this redirect should exist. But I am not sure if there is a Wikipedia policy on whether common names of animals should be capitalised (Madagascar Wagtail, Black Bear, White Rhinoceros...) or not (Madagascar wagtail, black bear, white rhinoceros...). Having worked for a number of publishing houses, my impression is the consensus is the latter nowadays, but Wikipedia seems to follow neither format with any consistency. The pages for black bear and white rhinoceros, for example, use lower case. There is an argument, then, that Madagascar Wagtail should actually redirect to Madagascar wagtail rather than the reverse. Perhaps Wikipedia already has a stated style policy on which convention should be used...?? DanielPAustin (talk) 01:18, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
I have recreated the redirect, however this time I directed it to the correct target (Madagascar Wagtail) instead of before when it just redirected to itself and got caught in a redirect loop which is why it was deleted. Thanks for discussing this with me. - Camyoung54 talk 01:36, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
Just to note, the policies on article titles are located at Wikipedia:Article titles. - Camyoung54 talk 01:42, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. It turned out that the policy generally is to use lower case for common names of animals (except where the name contains a proper noun, of course). However, owing to contrary traditional usage among ornithologists, bird names are standardly capitalised on their own page, but not where mentioned elsewhere. Given this anomaly, I think we did the correct thing in ensuring the lower redirects to the upper. DanielPAustin (talk) 00:30, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

I am sorry that you are in this situation, however there is not much that I can do. A few things:
  1. Please do not make edits that are in ALL CAPS. Always use proper capitalization and grammar when using Wikipedia.
  2. Discuss this matter with other editors at the Shonda Rhimes talk page. There are others that may have more information on this issue and will be able to help you.
  3. If the above suggestion does not help, you can discuss this matter with the Wikipedia Administrators, they have more power on the wiki and could possibly help you. They can be reached at one of their noticeboards.

Mountain Dew original slogan

Hi, your reversion of my edit to the Mountain Dew page is incorrect. Based upon the print, and memorabilia advertising created by Mountain Dew, along with the television commercials following their acquisition by Pepsi, it is evident that their original slogan was, "It'll tickle yore innards." The edit I performed was neither incorrect, nor unnecessary, as it corrects a factual inaccuracy in the article text. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobartig (talkcontribs) 20:02, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

As for the notable alumni, it seems that the one I deleted included himself only for personal promotion. The inclusion of him and the many details that the description includes, lowers the bar for "notable" so low, that you might as well put all alumni on the page. It should also be noted that the first alum appears to be a pornographic actor/director.

Just wanted to know

Hi, I recently got an email notification saying that you have posted on my talk page, though when I checked clearly you haven't. Just wanted to clear things up. I'm new here and want to know if this is some kind of bug with the email notifications thing, because I think I have disabled email notifications anyway. -Ugog Nizdast (talk) 13:53, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi Ugog, I have not posted on your talk page, and so it must have been an email notification bug, although I have never seen that before. If this issue persists, discuss it at the WP:Village pump, where editors experienced in technical issues can help you solve the problem. Thanks, - Camyoung54 talk 19:37, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

We are currently running a study on the effects of adding additional information to SuggestBot's suggestions. Participation in the study is voluntary. Should you wish to not participate in the study, or have questions or concerns, you can find contact information on the SuggestBot study page.

IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.

Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.

Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions

We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:

Views/Day
Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
Quality
Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.

The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Content
Is more content needed?
Headings
Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
Images
Is the number of illustrative images about right?
Links
Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
Sources
For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?
