Your draft article, Draft:Basilica Minor under the invocation of the Blessed Lady Mary in Inowrocław

Hello, Calliopejen1. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Basilica Minor under the invocation of the Blessed Lady Mary in Inowrocław".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 22:34, 19 May 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Calliopejen1,
It looks like you moved this draft article, creating a redirect and then another editor built an article on it, replacing the redirect with content. But when Twinkle looks to notify the page creator of a page deletion, it looks for the first edit made to the page and so it saw you as the page creator. Sorry for this unnecessary notice. Liz Read! Question from Phrankdatank (03:39, 25 May 2022)

Hi Mentor. I just made my first edit a minor one and I guess I'm trying to understand how hyperlink (references) work and when to use them. Do you have suggestions for a beginner? --Phrankdatank (talk) 03:39, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi Phrankdatank and sorry for the delay in responding! I assume this question is in reference to your edits on The Return of Godzilla. There are a couple of issues here. First, a fandom site is not an appropriate reference because it is user-generated content. An appropriate reference would be a book, newspaper article, academic journal article, or similar. (See WP:RS.) In general, however, any substantive edit you make (including the one you made to The Return of Godzilla) should be supported by a reliable-source reference. Help:VisualEditor has information on how to add references using the Visual Editor. Let me know if you have any further questions! Calliopejen1 (talk) 17:31, 30 May 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Sudanese society

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sudanese society requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://countrystudies.us/sudan/45.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Ploni (talk) 16:57, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

Ploni - the source document is PD, as noted in the references (and now on the talk page as well). Calliopejen1 (talk) 23:26, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

Morningmagichour (talk · contribs) -- hi and welcome to wikipedia! My main concern is that this may not qualify for an article before it is released and reviewed. See WP:NFILM for the relevant rules. Sudanese society moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Sudanese society, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. scope_creepTalk 15:01, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

Sudanese society

Hi @Calliopejen1: I see you wrote this article. I thought it was Wiki-ed student or something like that, that wrote it? Why did you only use a single reference. Do you not care about policies like WP:NPOV, balance and historical accuracy? I see its popped back up WP:NPP and reviewing it The thing has a single ref which means it completly breaks WP:NPOV, doesn't provide a balanced view of the subject and is mostly subjective, as its seems one persons view.It may be a long standing but is because of covid and nobody was reviewing during that period, otherwise it would be sent to draft in a New York second. What am I supposed to do with it? Do you plan to add more academic sourcing? scope_creepTalk 14:17, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Do you have a reason to believe that it is unbalanced, non-neutral, or inaccurate? I don't. I'm not sure what you mean by "one person's view"--it is from a published reliable source. You can see the bibliography for the chapter in which the discussion of Sudanese society appears here and the author's discussion of the sources he relied on here-- Bechtold isn't just making this content up. I think this article is an adequate start that other editors may improve on. If you disagree with me, feel free to nominate for deletion. Calliopejen1 (talk) 23:24, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
By the way, I wholly agree that it needs additional sources, which is why I tagged it with the one-source tag when I created it. But in the meantime, having the article is a net positive. Calliopejen1 (talk) 23:37, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

Question from Marcus L Broadbent (12:18, 5 September 2022)

Hallo, it would appear that you are my Wikipedia mentor.

Firstly let me thank you for offering to mentor.

I would very much like to create a Wikipedia page about my great-aunt Margaret M. Green who was a pioneering anthropologist who lived for years in Nigeria before the 2nd War and then went on to teach Ibo (Igbo) in the London School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).

I have absolutely no idea how to go about creating a page about her but I feel strongly she deserves to be better known.

Many thanks for your help

Marcus Broadbent --Marcus L Broadbent (talk) 12:18, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

Hi Marcus L Broadbent and welcome to Wikipedia! The first question will be whether your great aunt qualifies for a Wikipedia page based on WP:NBIO and/or WP:NPROF. Looking at the citations to her works on Google Scholar, I somewhat doubt she qualifies through WP:NPROF, but I could be wrong. (That is, I don't think she is widely cited enough to qualify.) For WP:NBIO, I am not seeing a lot of reliable-source coverage of her. What are the three most in-depth sources about her? I'm thinking things like obituaries published in academic journals, passages/chapters in books about her (i.e. books written by others including info about her life), obituaries by journalists (not family) about her in significant newspapers. If you can provide the three best sources you can find, I can give you my thoughts about whether she qualifies. You can also ask for additional help at WT:WIR which is where a lot of editors interested in writing biographies about women hang out. Finally, I caution you that it can be difficult to write about subjects that you're connected to -- see WP:COI for more guidance. Calliopejen1 (talk) 23:21, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

Pvenkata0711-- Hi. If you have newspaper cuttings, those are presumably copyrighted and therefore cannot be added to Wikipedia or any of its sister sites (e.g. Wikimedia Commons, where images go). You can cite a newspaper article even if it is not available online by providing the relevant bibliographic (article title, author if there is a byline, publication, date, page). You could consider uploading the cuttings to another site (e.g. Flickr) if you want others to be able to see them in the deletion discussion. Calliopejen1 (talk) 13:14, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
Pvenkata0711 - I've looked at the article and think it definitely has issues. There are a ton of references but none are high-quality in depth articles. I'd recommending reading WP:THREE and offering to identify the three top references at the deletion discussion. Calliopejen1 (talk) 17:31, 1 November 2022 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Mariano Montealegre Bustamante

The article Mariano Montealegre Bustamante has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No effective sources. Tag has been placed since 2009. The Spanish WP article is also unsourced.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. scope_creepTalk 11:35, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

CHAPTER ONE

Mary made the decision to follow the steps that are listed below since she was having issues with her digestive system and gut. Analyzing her nutrition and way of life was the first step. Mary discovered that she was consuming an excessive amount of processed foods and was not consuming enough fiber. She started consuming more healthful whole foods including fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds.

In addition, Mary adopted a particular supplement regimen that was intended to support her digestion, aid in gut healing, and give her body the nutrition it required to feel better. She supplemented this with a regular exercise routine and the use of stress-reduction methods. The modifications started to take effect gradually but steadily. Her digestive and intestinal difficulties soon began to get better. She was happy with her development and eventually made a full recovery over the following few months.

Mary is currently making careful to keep up the improvements she made and feels better than ever! She not only was able to fix her stomach and digestion difficulties, but she has also noticed an increase in her energy level and a general improvement in her general outlook on life.

Question from HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (21:26, 2 February 2023)

Hi there. I was just wonder if, when I make a edit and I have to describe it, do I have to describe in a particular way? Like, do I have to use encyclopedic prose and stuff? Get back to me when you can. --HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (talk) 21:26, 2 February 2023 (UTC)

HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird, you mean like if there is anything special you need to say in the edit summary? No, just describe what you did in plain English! Good luck! Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:09, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
Thanks. HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (talk) 21:11, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Question from John Halbleib (12:32, 4 February 2023)

Hi Jen. I was attempting to update the band Cold Blood’s current members to include myself and move a deceased member, Rich Armstrong to “former members.”

People I’m trying to add: John Halbleib - Trumpet, Harmonica Dana Moret - Vocals Fred Ross - Vocals

A source for the passing of Rich Armstrong is here. https://www.jazzmafia.com/richarmstrong

Could you perhaps help me make these changes and enter the link I posted above as a reference? Please let me know,

Thanks John --John Halbleib (talk) 12:32, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

John Halbleib Do you have a reference showing that you, Dana, and Fred are in the band now? Right now you haven't done it quite right because the source you cited for you being in the band doesn't mention you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 21:46, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

Right now my “references” would be mostly emails telling us when gigs are, videos and photos of me playing with the band. I’ll get the bandleader to change the Official Website.

Right this moment I’m busy getting ready for our Cold Blood gig tonight in Redwood City at Club Fox where myself, Dana and Fred are all performing and we’re taking new band photos. Thanks for the message. John Halbleib (talk) 23:52, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

Yes, please have them change the official website so that can be cited! Calliopejen1 (talk) 05:59, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

Question from HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (02:09, 4 February 2023)

Hey, sometimes a citation is needed for a statement and I try looking for a source. What's the best way of going about that? I try to just highlight the statement, right click it, and search it up, but but I've gotten mixed results when I try this. --HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (talk) 02:09, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird it depends on what you're trying to find sources for. Google Books, jstor/Google Scholar, and searching news articles generally works best. What subject area are you working in? Calliopejen1 (talk) 21:42, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

I remeber recently trying and failing to find sources relating to media, with less then quality results. For instance, the other day I editing the page for The Cleveland Show and I was looking for a source for one of the quoted reviews. I tried copy and pasting the quote and doing keywords searches for the article and it's author, but I couldn't find it. Maybe I should've tried limiting my search to a certain year or something? HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (talk) 20:05, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
If you know what publication it's from, you could do a search like "this is the quote i'm looking for" site:nytimes.com which will only pull from the specified website. If you don't, that's harder. Once you're a more established editor, you can sign up for The Wikipedia Library which would give you access to various databases, including databases of news articles, which would make searching for quotations like this somewhat easier. Often things disappear from the public internet but are still available via these databases. Calliopejen1 (talk) 16:48, 6 February 2023 (UTC)

Hello! I have a doubt on editing. How can I create a new heading in an article? --Nithyasarvesh (talk) 13:17, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

Nithyasarvesh I recommend using the Visual Editor, which I believe is the default for new users. To create a heading, write a line of text and then change the "Paragraph" drop-down (see File:VisualEditor Toolbar Headings-en.png) to say "Heading" or "Sub-heading". Question from HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (17:56, 3 March 2023)

Hey, I'm having some confusion over something. When inserting a template into an article, how do I make sure it displays properly? I ask because I recently put a citation needed template for the page for Mad (TV Series) and it displays as [[Category:Articles with unsourced statements from March {{subst:2013}}]][citation needed] rather then simply [citation needed.] Please Help! --HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (talk) 17:56, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird I have had this happen to me occasionally in what I think is a bug with the Visual Editor. If you switch to source mode and just replace whatever the mess is with {{citation needed}} (or {{fact}} which redirects to the same thing) that should fix it, if someone else hasn't fixed it already. Question from Douweziel (12:04, 19 April 2023)

Hello Jen!

I want to expand Cannabis (drug)'s rather small section of "Fatality". For instance, the 2nd part says "A 16-month survey of Oregon and Alaska emergency departments found a report of the death of an adult who had been admitted for acute cannabis toxicity.[60]" - nothing more.

That source is a review, and that section of the review (about the Oregon and Alaska EDs) links to a primary (or somewhat secondary) source "Acute cannabis toxicity", published in Clinical Toxicology. It provides a more detailed account of this death, mentioning his age (70) and relating it to pre-existing cardiovascular problems - which seems quite important in this context on the wiki. (and this section, itself, links to another primary source published in Clin.Tox., further detailing the same).

Because these two sources are primary, I was wondering what info I can and cannot add to this sentence regarding this death. I was thinking of changing it to the following:

A 16-month survey of Oregon and Alaska emergency departments found a report of the death of a 70-year-old man who had been admitted for acute cannabis toxicity. Later autopsy revealed several pre-existing cardiovascular diseases, such as acute myocardial infarction and multiple coronary artery disease. Additionally, a week before his hospitalization and subsequent death he was diagnosed with anemia due to a bleeding duodenal ulcer attributed to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) use.

What do you think? --Douweziel (talk) 12:04, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

Posted this here because a discussion of this question on the talk page was prematurely ended ("I shall not respond further"), leaving me no wiser, and I felt stuck. However, I hadn't seen additional info later edited in that did leave me wiser! Douweziel (talk) 23:36, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

  Guideline and policy news

  • Following an RfC, editors indefinitely site-banned by community consensus will now have all rights, including sysop, removed.
  • As a part of the Wikimedia Foundation's IP Masking project, a new policy has been created that governs the access to temporary account IP addresses. An associated FAQ has been created and individual communities can increase the requirements to view temporary account IP addresses.

Question from General Black Jack Pershing (03:27, 16 October 2023)

Is it okay to add images to other people's articles without letting them know, because I wouldn't really be changing anything i would just be adding onto stuff --General Black Jack Pershing (talk) 03:27, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

General Black Jack Pershing Yes! WP:Be bold! But be sure the images are freely licensed (i.e. most images you download from the internet aren't usable on Wikipedia). Calliopejen1 (talk) 13:14, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

Question from Adhoccom (13:07, 20 October 2023)

In the Wikipedia information about Van Cortlandt Park, it states the park is in the Bronx. The official New York City bough name is The Bronx. How can this change be made? --Adhoccom (talk) 13:07, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

Adhoccom, If you look at The Bronx, that one has "the" lower-cased in-text. If you want to try to form a consensus that it should be "The," I would start at Talk:The Bronx. It looks like this has been discussed several times there, though, with a current consensus for lower-case. Calliopejen1 (talk) 16:15, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

November Articles for creation backlog drive

Hello Calliopejen1:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

There is a backlog of over 2600 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:23, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

Question from Trollhunter Pro12345 (00:21, 31 October 2023)

Hello! I was wondering if I could write about a religion I found called gokusim. --Trollhunter Pro12345 (talk) 00:21, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi Trollhunter Pro12345, I'm not entirely sure if this religion meets wikipedia's notability guidelines (see WP:N) -- it's probably borderline. It looks like someone started an article at one point, and then it was moved to the "draft" space because others thought it wasn't ready for prime time. You could continue editing Draft:Gokuism (I'd recommend adding additional reliable sources) and then when you think it is ready, press the submit button to get it reviewed for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Question from DeptfordDave JC (23:20, 28 November 2023)

Hi Jen,

I was looking at the page 'Democracy Now', and noted that there appears to be a politically non-neutral change made on the 26 Nov 2023 at the beginning of the introduction paragraph. I understand that Wiki likes to keep language as neutral as possible, unless there is a documented reason not to in a description, such as an organization's own self declaration/discription.

The only change I noted for the 26 Nov 2023 edit was just adding the words 'far-left', per the following: "Democracy Now! is a far-left hour-long American TV, radio, and Internet news program...". Just about all the previous version were as follows: 'Democracy Now! is an hour-long American TV, radio, and Internet news program..." This change and previous version do state that the organization is a progressive outfit, which I believe is a more neutral term.

Also terms like 'far left' and 'far right' are emotive descriptions that are more subjective terms rather than being objective. In addition, what is considered 'far right' or 'far left' today, may become more central in people's eyes in the future, if the political central ground ends up significantly moving to the left or the right.

Anyway, what is your view on this as a longtime editor on Wiki? --DeptfordDave JC (talk) 23:20, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi DeptforDave JC! I recommend starting by reading the discussion about "far left" and "far right" at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Words to watch/Archive 14. If, after this you think that the use of the words in the article are a problem, I'd raise it at Talk:Democracy Now!, and then if you want further feedback you could raise it at Wikipedia:Neutral point of view/Noticeboard. I don't know enough about the subject matter to know if this is an appropriate label myself in this context. Good luck! Calliopejen1 (talk) 06:06, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from Leannehindlemas (17:09, 27 November 2023)

Hello! How are you? I am trying to write an article, how do I get the references to show next to each relevant reference rather than listed at the bottom? Or it does not matter? --Leannehindlemas (talk) 17:09, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

Instructions are here: Help:VisualEditor#Adding_a_new_reference. But the draft article in your userspace is an essay/how-to and is not appropriate for Wikipedia, so I would not recommend investing more energy into it... Calliopejen1 (talk) 06:09, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from GDelog (16:10, 26 November 2023)

Hi! I noticed there is no page for an investment platform I use called Mintos (https://www.mintos.com) and I decided to create one! What do you think about this text: Mintos is a financial technology company headquartered in Riga, Latvia. Retail investors can invest in a mix of traditional and alternative assets through the platform, such as loans, ETFs and Fractional Bonds.

The company counts more than €600 million in assets under administration and over 500 000 registered users.

History

Mintos was founded in 2014 by Martins Sulte and Martins Valters. The company's headquarters are located in Riga, Latvia [1], and it has since expanded its presence across Europe.

In 2018, Mintos raised €5 million in Series A funding backed by Riga-based venture capital firm Grumpy Investments. [2]

In 2020, Mintos launched a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube: the company attracted over 7000 equity investors and raised a total of €7.2 million, the largest amount ever raised in continental Europe [3] [4] [5] [6].

On August 19, 2021, Mintos acquired the investment firm and electronic money institution licenses from the Bank of Latvia. Investors on Mintos are protected by the MiFID II investor protection framework, Prospectus Regulation, Packaged retail investment and insurance products (PRIIPs), Investor Protection Law.[7] [8] [9] [10]

On May 25, 2022, Mintos launched loan-backed securities called Notes [11] [12], which allow retail investors to invest in loans in a regulated environment.

In October 2023 the company launched high-yield Fractional Bonds. [16] [17]

Awards and Recognition Mintos has won AltFi’s People’s Choice Award five times in a row (2016-2020) and AltFi’s Alternative Finance Platform of the Year [14] [15].

Question from HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (02:24, 14 November 2023)

Hi, Jen. I want to replace the image on Kyle Massey's page, specifically the one in the Infobox, but I don't know how to do that. Can explain how? Keep in mind, I use the Visual Editor. --HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (talk) 02:24, 14 November 2023 (UTC)

HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird have you uploaded the image to Wikimedia Commons yet? (Or do you see one there that you want to use?) If so, what is the filename? If not, and you want to upload an image, where did it come from and who took the photo? Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:31, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
I have not uploaded the image to Wikimedia Commons. Do I need to create an separate account for that, or can I use my Wikipedia account? HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (talk) 01:23, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird Your same account will work on Wikimedia Commons. The upload wizard there will help you through the somewhat cumbersome process of uploading and picking the correct license for your file. Importantly, most images you see on the internet cannot be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. If you took the photo yourself, it won't be an issue. If you didn't, it can be kind of complicated. Happy to assist you with sorting out any licensing issues. Calliopejen1 (talk) 17:48, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
Hi, Jen. Sorry it keeps taking me a bit to reply. Anyways, I want to upload a image that I did not make. Like I said before, I want to add a image to Kyle Massey's page on Wikipedia, specifically the top image in this US Magazine article.
https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/kyle-massey-set-to-join-the-hills-revival/
I want to use this picture specifically because it's a bit more recent then the current picture of him on his page.
I did a reverse image search with a program called TinEye, and the results I found are also from US Magazine, so it's possible that they copyrighted that image. Let me know if you can help confirm or de-confirm it's copyrighted by them, and any other possible licensing issues that could come from this image.
Here's the exact search results I was talking about.
https://tineye.com/search/44321bb6930c64cba3e2fa8e78c0e063b1196654?sort=score&order=desc&page=1 HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (talk) 19:33, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird Unfortunately, that image is not usable for copyright reasons. Sometimes you can find amateur photographers on Flickr who are willing to relicense their images under free licenses, but looking for freely usable images of celebrities on the internet is often a fool's errand. Calliopejen1 (talk) 06:00, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
Well, so much for using a recent image of him, I guess. HaveYouHeardAboutTheBird (talk) 07:27, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi Prodesigntz, if those are the best coverage of him, he does not qualify for an article. Sorry! Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:11, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

Question from Jodistevensbryce (21:02, 23 February 2024)

Hello. I am interested in making a Wiki page for an actress, singer, Performing Arts School Founder/Director --Jodistevensbryce (talk) 21:02, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

(by talk reader) @Jodistevensbryce: I don't think you should be writing about yourself. That's not what an encyclopedia is for. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:38, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

Question from FreeAssange666 (12:24, 14 March 2024)

Hello how do I create a Wikipedia page for my favorite new artist?

I want to create a page for a brand new, up and coming Christian rapper from Utah.

God bless and thank you --FreeAssange666 (talk) 12:24, 14 March 2024 (UTC)

Can you provide the three best news sources discussing this artist in some depth? "Up and coming" musicians often do not qualify for articles. See WP:BIO and WP:MUSIC. Thank you! Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:49, 14 March 2024 (UTC)

Question from Jeanvaljeanjacket (20:47, 20 March 2024)

Hi there! Do you have any tips for helping to get my article public faster? Thanks so much. --Jeanvaljeanjacket (talk) 20:47, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

Jeanvaljeanjacket Can you read WP:THREE and provide me the three highest-quality, most in-depth, independent reliable sources about her? Calliopejen1 (talk) 22:25, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt2853094/?language=fr-fr She is featured in this 2013 documentary about the climate crisis called “Do the Math.” She is featured alongside well-known figures in the climate movement such as Bill McKibben, Naomi Klein, and James Hansen.
https://www.fao.org/about/meetings/soil-organic-carbon-symposium/presentations/en/ Her inclusion on the speaker list on day 3 of this United Nations scientific symposium shows that she is internationally recognized as an expert in the field of Soil Organic Carbon.
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2012/10/is-climate-change-the-sleeper-issue-of-the-2012-election/263187/ Here she is quoted in an Atlantic article as a climate strategist explaining the importance of discussing climate change during political campaigns. A report she helped wrote is also cited in this article. She was also quoted in the New York Times about this topic.
I have plenty more independent sources I can send along if any of these don't work. Thank you! Jeanvaljeanjacket (talk) 17:12, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
No, we need sources about her, not just sources where she is quoted. It does not appear that she qualifies for an article, sorry. Calliopejen1 (talk) 22:30, 22 March 2024 (UTC)

Question from N9gg (07:43, 29 March 2024)

I made one edit and it was reverted and I got no notification about it. How do I see the reason? --N9gg (talk) 07:43, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

N9gg Click on "View history" on the article page and you will get to this page - then scroll down. The reason for the reversion was "rv per WP:YOUTUBE; this is not a strong source, it's a single person with no oversight" Calliopejen1 (talk) 14:54, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

Question from NoahAlexandria (18:20, 7 February 2024)

Hello, I am at a standstill in making this page. Can you help me? Thank you --NoahAlexandria (talk) 18:20, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

(by talk reader) @NoahAlexandria: Regarding your draft about Dr. Farimah Farahmandi, the most important thing to establish with subjects of biographies is notability. Being a fellow of IEEE might be enough but you didn't provide an in-line citation to a reliable source for that assertion. Please read WP:CS as providing sources is crucial. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:31, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
Thank you - I am studying tutorials for adding the references. She also has several publications. NoahAlexandria (talk) 21:42, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
Hello. I added the recent information that she is now a National Science Foundation CAREER Award recipient and some external links. Would these links serve as the in-line citation. I did not see a cite button and not sure the process. Can you tell me the next steps? I appreciate it.

Question from Priyansh Kala (03:47, 4 April 2024)

i edited a page on session layer(Dialogue Control). and i don't know why it got removed --Priyansh Kala (talk) 03:47, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

Priyansh Kala The user who reverted your edit (KH-1) did not leave an edit summary explaining the reversion. But if I had to guess it was because medium.com is not a reliable source and also because you added the citation after the first word of a sentence so it's not clear what the citation was intended to support. Calliopejen1 (talk) 07:48, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

Question from Nen007 (11:56, 30 March 2024) (2)

Question from Burtchd (19:50, 4 April 2024)

Good afternoon- How do I edit an entry? Cindy Estrada has a page and as asked me to add to her story since I was her top assistant. However, my edits have not been published. --Burtchd (talk) 19:50, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

(by talk reader) @Burtchd: Your conflict of interest with Cindy Estrada precludes you from editing there, and she should not be concerned with what Wikipedia's article says about her. Your edit to the page was reverted because you did not cite a reliable source. Wikipedia does not care what is true so you probably should not be editing here. If you do come up with independent reliable sources like newspapers, you can mention them on Talk:Cindy Estrada where un-involved third party editors can review what you've posted. Chris Troutman (talk) 20:16, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

Question from WikiEditorBharat (12:59, 6 April 2024)

Hello, I have created an article on Wikipedia in Marathi lanaguage. It has been published as a draft, but I am unable to move it to the review phase. I want my article to be published online. --WikiEditorBharat (talk) 12:59, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

Hi WikiEditorBharat, the volunteers here at the English-language Wikipedia don't review articles for the Marathi-language Wikipedia (nor is it likely that anyone would translate it for publication here). I would attempt to create the article here in the Marathi-language Wikipedia. Calliopejen1 (talk) 17:16, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

Question from SacredEmily on John Fabel (01:42, 5 April 2024)

Hi, how do I add a photo of Professor Fabel to his page? --SacredEmily (talk) 01:42, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

SacredEmily Where did you get the photo from, and who took it? Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:26, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
A conference I attended and I took the photo. SacredEmily (talk) 19:38, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
SacredEmily Okay, great! First, upload it to our sister site Wikimedia Commons using the wizard at Commons:Special:UploadWizard. Next, in the visual editor mode, click "Insert" then "Images and media" then search for the image you uploaded. Let me know if you have any questions.
Separately, I am concerned that John Fabel does not meet Wikipedia's standards for inclusion (see WP:BIO) so it is possible that this article may eventually be deleted.... If you have additional high-quality news articles about John Fabel (rather than just mentioning/quoting him) it would be great if you can add them to the article.
