There are duplicate citations like 12 and 13. You should only use one and write the page number like you did on citations 3 and 4. Also, are you sure Journal of Punjab Studies is a reliable source? Thank you for reviewing the page. I would appreciate any guidance you can provide. If this association was listed on an existing Wikipedia page, such as one on the subject of conservation or Texas history, would that meet the criteria of an independent source? The association is a registered charity and it is recognized by respected organizations such as Texas A&M University, Baylor University an the University of Texas. I am not sure how to proceed. Thank you

It may be helpful for you to read WP:NORG as well, which demonstrates the guidelines for assessing the notability of org's.

Hello Carpimaps I wanted to create a stub article of Njedeh Anthony, is there way I could categorize it stub section, other wikipedia contributors may expand it. Nanyutterman (talk) 07:50, 11 June 2023 (UTC)

Question from Cococolajourneys about Draft:Delta Lake (Software)

Hey! You mentioned "After the copyright purge, this draft is not publishable." Looks like I goofed on the copyright originally for the icon in Draft:Delta Lake (Software), but I have it fixed now. Everything in that project is in the Apache 2.0 License and I have re-uploaded the image to reflect that with the appropriate copyright tag. Is that what you were referring to? What can I do to fix this? Cococolajourneys (talk) 19:56, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello @Cococolajourneys, the reason I declined the draft has nothing to do with the images. At the time, bulk of the text was copied from other websites, making the draft a coptright violation. Because of this, an administrator deleted the offending text, which left the article extremely short. That is what I meant by "copyright purge". I suggest you add more quality sources to the draft (WP:42 is a helpful guide) to establish notability. Cheers, Carpimaps talk to me! 02:15, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Draft: Clifford Beal

Googling my name, I've become aware of a draft page about me and that it has been refused publication due to a problem with sources. I've had a look at the criticisms and don't see that the sources referenced have a direct connection with me (other than my own website). I have many journalist and author colleagues who have wikipedia entries and their references are similar in nature. I'd appreciate some feedback on what else could be referenced as most of these are already from publishers, newspapers, and television. As an internationally published author since 2007 with several titles I'm at a loss to see why this entry was refused. 2A02:C7C:DE5B:F00:6009:FD53:32D9:C9B1 (talk) 10:29, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello, Wikipedia has a set of inclusion criteria, which are named notability. In the draft's current state, it fails to show how you are notable. This does not mean that you are inherently not notable; an article about you can be published if you can find the right sources.
General Notability Guideline (GNG) suggests that

A topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.

Interviews are not independent. Rest are reviews of your books, and contains minimal biographical information, thus failing to be a significant coverage. I do not recommend you edit the draft as it comes with conflict of interest issues. Carpimaps talk to me! 10:54, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
One thing you can do though is provide sources that meets the GNG criteria. WP:42 is a helpful summary of rules that make up notability. Carpimaps talk to me! 10:59, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. I will try and add some references to existing piece. That said I find the following wiki rule regarding notability of authors and journos: "The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the primary subject of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews, or of an independent and notable work (for example, a book, film, or television series, but usually not a single episode of a television series). I believe my published works already prove this and have been quoted by independent media. 2A02:C7C:DE5B:F00:6009:FD53:32D9:C9B1 (talk) 11:05, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for responding, but none of your books have a Wikipedia article. However, it could be that no one have gotten around to creating one.
Besides, Subject-specific Notability Guidelines does not override General Notability Guidelines. It just means that if you meet one of the criteria, you have a high chance of passing GNG. Carpimaps talk to me! 11:15, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Hi,
"Quelch's Gold" is referenced in wikipedia article on John Quelch (which I did not originate). John Quelch (pirate)
I have now added additional third party references and hope the draft can be reconsidered. It is already far more extensive than many other authors up on wikipedia now. 2A02:C7C:DE5B:F00:6009:FD53:32D9:C9B1 (talk) 12:48, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Stuart Land

Hello you previously declined an article that didn't have according to you have reliable sources.

The person has made unique, prolific or innovative contributions to a field of entertainment. This bieng his art being in major blockbuster films. Studios zealously guard the length of the tail credits of a film and for this he was not credited in most of them as an artist. Most artist arnt credited but none the less he made unique contributions to critical acclaimed movies.

The person has received a well-known and significant award or honour, or has been nominated for such an award several times. This being his screen play awards. He has won significant awards in writing screrenplays that being the reviewers choice award.

Multiple independent sources are used may be combined to demonstrate notability. Primary sources are original materials that are close to an event. His audio interview regarding his work in blockbuster films should be enough for that. However there are other sources cited for additional proof.

Creative professional. The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work. The movies hes helped create and his interviews regarding them. 27.32.118.9 (talk) 01:22, 17 June 2023 (UTC)

While that may be true, you still need to prove that he has received those awards. Goodreads, IMDb, and Amazon links are not reliable sources. Also, I couldn't find a Wikipedia article for any of the awards mentioned. Are you sure that they can be classified "well-known and significant award or honour"? Even if this subject was notable. Vast majority of text are cited to unreliable sources or no sources at all. Carpimaps talk to me! 03:22, 17 June 2023 (UTC)

Balázs Trencsényi

Hi, I just added some sources to meet the criterion no. 7 "The person has had a substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity." 62.99.145.254 (talk) 16:06, 18 June 2023 (UTC)

I wouldn't say giving few interviews gives "substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity." Most of them are about the school and not his academic capacity(history). What reviewers are looking for are reputable and respected sources that say Balázs Trencsényi is a important person or made contributions that significantly changed the world. I think you will have better luck trying to satisfy WP:Anybio. Carpimaps talk to me! 00:01, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
Balázs Trencsényi has been elected as a member of Academia Europaea.[1] 62.99.145.254 (talk) 06:44, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
Also, not related to the membership of Academia Europaea, Specific criteria notes no. 7, a. says "
  1. Criterion 7 may be satisfied, for example, if the person is frequently quoted in conventional media as an academic expert in a particular area. A small number of quotations, especially in local news media, is not unexpected for academics and so falls short of this mark.
He has been interviewed by outlines of at least 5 languages, some quoted a few sentences, some are lengthy interview. 62.99.145.254 (talk) 06:49, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

I'm actually struggling to find in-depth references. The Outlook one seems to conflate the original show, which apparently? ended in 2002????, with what the daughter (whose name is similar to that of the article creator) is doing now. The WaPo piece is a real oddball. It has the disclaimer All articles are written by YJDP Student Correspondents and edited by mentors from The Washington Post prior to publishing. on it, it was written by a high schooler, and I suspect based on the names involved that Nik is Nita's brother or maybe her son. Rejection of Taglab draft page

Hi, I have seen the rejection of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:TagLab (after 4 months), but beside the template, the comment just says "Please find more sources that devote significant coverage(not just namedrops)" and I find difficult to understand this motivation. The research centers cited in the articles are not just random namedrops, they are backed by at least three scientific papers that describe the use of the software there. What is exactly needed more? A longer description of how the software is used by the research center? Please could you elaborate what is needed according your opinion? because that comment does not really help to understand how to improve the page. Thanks in advance! ALoopingIcon (talk) 21:37, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

@ALoopingIcon Hello, thanks for reaching out to me. Citations one to two were the Taglab's own paper/Github(not independent). Citation three to four were just announcements saying that they use Taglab without any additional information. Since I saw that rest of the citation wasn't supporting anything substantial, I assumed they were of same quality. However, I went through the sources again, and surprisingly found detailed coverage of this software. I apologize, it was my mistake. Ca talk to me! 00:37, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the quick answer and thanks for accepting the page as a stub! Just another question, What are in your opinion the parts of the article that need to be extended/deepened in order to improve it and remove the stub tag?
- longer descriptions of it is actually used (e.g. monitoring coral reefs by analyizing photorecnostructied ortophoto)
- Software details (what kind of functionality the tool offer)
- more screenshot?

Moonmoon draft

Hello, I would like to know what certain sections I can improve on my Moonmoon article. I do personally see that there are things wrong with the article but I can't really identify them. What certain sentences or references can I perhaps change or remove? Could I perhaps make one area better? I am engrossed by this article and would love to see what's wrong and if there can be any improvements that can be made. Thanks. JabirAV (talk) 05:30, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

Currently, I see that none of the sources form a coherent biography. The Dot ESport citations are low-quality since it is simply reporting/summarizing on Moonmoon's streams. What the draft needs is a source that focuses on Moonmoon himself, not individual streams and events. I un-rejected the draft so you can submit it again. See articles like Technoblade for an excellent example. Ca talk to me! 11:29, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

Hello Ca,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged CloudPanel for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want CloudPanel to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Ok this is corrected but out of an article over several pages that people could use and complement, I think it's a harsh decision to just reject on 3 citations missing a forgetting to translate one date from French to English (for your information, la Justice was a leading newspaper in France in the 19th century) 213.78.111.51 (talk) 18:28, 5 July 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I think you are misunderstanding the meaning of press release. It is news provided by the company so it would not be an independent source. I am not sure what you mean by "SEO in press releases". Bloomberg and Forbes are reliable sources. However, the sources need to have significant and in-depth coverage on the topic to establish notability. Simple database entries are not enough. Please take a look at the guidance at WP:42. @User:Anavean, this article needs sources that are independent and has significant coverage. Definition of independent sources are outlined at WP:IIS. Draft Corrections: Concept Space

Hi Carpimaps,

Thank you for reviewing my article (Draft:Concept space).

You were concerned that the subject seemed like original research. I really think that concept space is now beyond original research, as we can find this knowledge system in use in a few colleges and universities now, and it has been published in peer reviewed papers and conferences in the last 5 years. Here is how I tried to improve the article, but if you can give me some more directions, I would very much appreciate your help.

1. I verified which references that directly talk about concept space are peer reviewed. All of them actually are peer reviewed:

a. Proceedings of the Canadian Engineering Education Association (CEEA)

b. Advances in Engineering Education

c. AIPU

2. I added a secondary source of a scientific paper that presents concept space in its literature review. It presents the ability of Concept Space to connect prior knowledge: prasetya2020

3. I added in the history section that the term “extended concept map” has been used in earlier literature (such as in foley2018).

4. The reference to “Chase et al., 1973” was intended to support the part about chunking. I think the reference might not have been obvious enough, so I focused on the subject of chunking and used a more obvious reference: thalmann2019. I did not elaborate more on chunking though, because the wikipedia page for it is very good I think.

5. I changed the title “Foundations and principles” to “Characteristics of Concept Space”, because I could not find a reference that tells that they are “the 4 principles”, but I think that the references are good to support that they are 4 important characteristics of concept space.

6. I removed a few phrases that I think were not verifiable enough, and I attached references in more places to make it easier to track the sources.
