Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Mean as custard (talk) 11:47, 30 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Mean as custard (talk) 07:44, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest edit

Hello, CKouyialis. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Songa Offshore, you may have a conflict of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Beagel (talk) 17:57, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

June 2014 edit

This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. --Mdann52talk to me! 06:42, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. --Mdann52talk to me! 06:43, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of one week for promotional editing and edit warring, as you did at Songa Offshore. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Bbb23 (talk) 20:55, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Decline reason:

How anyone can regard the editing made from this account as "not posting any promotional material" is beyond me. If you sincerely believe that, then you are so unable to see the nature of your own writing that it is highly unlikely that you will ever be able to edit in the way required for contributing to Wikipedia. You have also made no attempt to address the issue of edit warring. At present, the one fact about this block which might be open to question is that it is for only one week. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

195.14.142.65 (talk) 11:49, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Hello again. Could you please unblock me as I am the ONLY editor for this page. please let me know if you request any further information. Thanks and Regards. Chryso 195.14.142.65 (talk) 11:52, 16 June 2014 (UTC) Also, I am not posting any promotional material, just updating Songa Offhsore profile as per CEO's request. Please note that this is extremely important as external media need the correct information. Please help. Thanks.Reply

  • If you want to request an unblock, you'll need to log in to your account to do it - we have no idea who an anonymous IP address might be -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:28, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Oh, and having had a look over your additions to the Songa Offshore article I can tell you they are entirely unacceptable for an encyclopedia as they were written using blatant marketing speak and promotional puffery -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:32, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Right... let's explain the issues with the edits directly. The main issue is they fail Wikipedia's rules on maintaining a "neutral point of view". Additionally, as you have said they were "approved by the CEO", it seems you are editing with a conflict of interest. My advice would be to follow the steps in the links I have already sent you, and request the edits on the talk page, rather than making them directly. --Mdann52talk to me! 14:21, 17 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
