 Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Could you point out some very specific things I could change to get this article up and running? Thank you :) CK121119 (talk) 20:14, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
the relevant criteria would be WP:NACTOR which she fails. Being an un-named extra is irrelevant and confers zero relevance. Theroadislong (talk) 20:45, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Please see MOS:DRAFTNOLINK. Magitroopa (talk) 21:04, 22 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Are there any specific areas you noticed it? Thank you :) CK121119 (talk) 22:28, 22 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at The Next Step (Canadian TV series), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. As per my edit summary, the edit was not properly sourced, and would have been put in the wrong section regardless... --IJBall (contribstalk) 22:09, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ah, sorry. Two questions. One, I tried citing a YouTube link in which the video provides proof of my content, yet it pasted the Bing link I used to search. Do you know how I'd fix this? And two, Are there any sentences that you find it more important to source first? Thank you. CK121119 (talk) 22:13, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
YouTube videos will not cut it. You need to find an actual press/media source that reports the season #8 casting. As the show doesn't seem to be produced by Canada anymore, that means you will probably need to find a UK source, which won't be easy and may not be possible... As per WP:NOHURRY, if we can't find a proper source, then we wait until season #8 actually premieres, and look at the actual credited cast list. --IJBall (contribstalk) 01:36, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Why does it not cut it if she's specifically telling us about her family and in this specific case, siblings? I wouldn't think she's lying, no? CK121119 (talk) 01:46, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

A lengthy welcome

edit

Hi CK121119. Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.

If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 00:57, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
