Skids and Mudflap in DotM

edit

Despite your best wishes or gut feeling or whatever, the Twins haven't been officially confirmed for the third film, so stop adding them. Remember that adding unsourced information constitutes vandalism. --uKER (talk) 18:13, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well, neither have some other characters. So, why you keep them on that page? --CAJH) 20:58, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Such as...? --uKER (talk) 19:26, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Starscream or Ratchet. There has been only rumors about Starscream, not anything official. And only fans have said that recolored Hummer H2 being Ratchet with new paint color. Ironhide and Sideswipe really return, but they're not very different from their previous lookings. Well, if you won't accept proofs like toy lookings. Could you please explain what do you accept? Then I'll promise to add information that only fulfills what is needed for acceptation.--CAJH) 21:52, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well, set pictures have been used as proof for almost all of them. The problem is Bay said Skids and Mudflap wouldn't return, and that's what made people more reluctant to think it was them. --uKER (talk) 19:58, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
You still remember misinformation campaign? Megatron's return in ROTF was once denied by Bay, until Orci confirmed that Megatron returns. I knew all along because I had seen concept art of Megatron. After Bay denied return of the Twins, I believed it until those images of new Sparks appeared. That's why I believe in return of the Twins. It would be stupid logic to create Autobot characters that are too similar than characters that won't return. --CAJH) 8:21, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Blackout/Grindor ring a bell? --uKER (talk) 06:46, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Blackout was killed in first movie. And when character like Blackout appeared in ROTF trailer, I first believed it to be Blackout, until it was revealed to be Grindor. Well, but in DOTM all dead characters will stay as dead.--CAJH) 8:50, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
They don't have to die. Characters in Transformers change names all the time. Megatron/Galvatron, Hot Rod/Rodimus... --uKER (talk) 14:50, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Because of their modified or rebuilt bodies.--CAJH) 17:59, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Transformers 4

edit

Hello. I see that you are a major contributor to Transformers: Age of Extinction. I just wanted to let you know that I removed 99% of sources from "TFW2005.com", as that is not a reliable source per it being a fan forum. I will try to help when I can, but all of those sources need to be replaced with reliable sources (such as Deadline.com, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, etc.) or the info has to be removed if it can not be sourced elsewhere. Please note that this is not a blame on you, I just wanted to inform you as I saw you were the top contributor to the page. And if TFW2005 has been deemed reliable somewhere else, please forgive me. But it does not look reliable to me. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:51, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I could forgive you, if you would find new sources for those informations. - CAJH (talk) 20:30, 2 February 2014 (EET)
Like I said, I'll try my best to assist. But it would have been better if that site was not used in the first place. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:34, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
It was the most known site among the Transformers fans in Wikipedia. And I'm not sure about this, but some the info may not even be even available in pages you mention. I've been the most active one, since I feel that no else follows the article (and few others as well) as much as I do, and at least because of vandalism it's a good thing. The first movie was the only movie where I was patient enough to let rest of the info stay as a secret until the release date, but only because I knew nothing of the movie until the end of year 2006. - CAJH (talk) 20:45, 2 February 2014 (EET)
As a secret for myself, not the Wikipedia. - CAJH (talk) 20:46, 2 February 2014 (EET)
I'm sure that may be the case, but that doesn't necessarily constitute it as reliable for this site. Briefly looking over the page, some of the info that was sourced by it, may not be proper for the article in its current state. Wikipedia is not a news article, so we have to pick and chose the info that is given to us from reliable sources and try not to report on every little detail, especially the rumors and content gained from unreliable sources. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:08, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
I've decided to remove all TFW2005 sources from the Finland's (my home country) version of Wikipedia. And replace as many of them as possible. And if that makes me more respectable as a user of Wikipedia, I'll do it. - CAJH (talk) 8:35, 3 February 2014 (EET)
Sounds good. And it most definitely would. I hold high esteem for users who work on here that strive to write articles with only reliable sources, as do many others. It will give you more credibility as an editor. So as you may have seen, I've started the resourcing process. It will take a while, but it will get done. Just of note; I started with the casting sources, and I have not gotten up to a point in time where the main three get their character names. As far as I've gotten searching, they are still just actors in a film, with not character names. That is why I made a few of the edits I did (at least for the time being). - Favre1fan93 (talk) 06:50, 3 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Source "banning"

edit

Just to be clear (regarding this edit), there are very few situations where a source is "banned". The situation is better described as TFW2005 not being considered a reliable source (as it exists today), and thus not being usable for any major/large claims in our articles. I just thought "banned" was a strong term, and wanted to be clear that the site could be used in the future if it became more reliable. =) Happy editing! —Locke Coletc 12:18, 8 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for this Locke Cole. I don't believe I ever used the word "banned" in explaining the reason why it can't be used, but I've been so busy on and off Wiki that it may have passed over me. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:40, 8 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Just wanted to have a shorter explanation. But I forgot that it's not equal with word "clear". - CAJH (talk) 15:30, 9 February 2014 (EET)

New Dinobots

edit

Indeed, we saw the toys of the Dinobots Slug, Scorn, and Slash at Toy Fair. However, reliable sources (and people who actually attended) got confirmation of those characters being included in the Dinobot roster for the fourth film. If you look at the pictures on the website I provided, you'll see they confirmed the appearance of Slug and Scorn, and by looking at their toys, you can define their dinosaur alternate modes. I just believe it should be added to the character list, since people who attended Toy Fair got confirmation of the characters being included in the movie when Hasbro revealed the Dinobots will be transforming into their robot modes in the movie, too. Screen Rant even tweeted about it: https://twitter.com/screenrant/status/434753730886791169. The toys have proven to be quite accurate in the past, since Transformers is a toy line. Name changes more than likely won't occur, since some Dinobots are already being renamed (ala Swoop) or some new ones being created specifically for the live-action universe. - DecepticonsFTW (talk) 14:57, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Twitter is somewhat of showing information unclearly. Besides, this isn't about character names, it's about seeing them both in toys and film. And if my words aren't convincing, maybe you should ask opinion of Favre1fan93. CAJH (talk) 17:03, 16 February 2014 (EET)
This is actually an okay source to use. Good work Decepticons. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:05, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
If you say so. But how did you see this? Because I mentioned you? CAJH (talk) 17:07, 16 February 2014 (EET)
So, they can be included or not? Also, the film has yet to release, but we have seen them in the toy line. Of course, being in the toy line doesn't very well confirm that character appears in the film, but when sources are told directly from Hasbro that those characters will be featured in the film, they're officially confirmed. - DecepticonsFTW (talk) 16:03, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Indeed. CAJH (talk) 18:16, 16 February 2014 (EET)
CAJH, I saw the discussion, as I am watching your talk page, because we have been actively talking in this discussion, even if there are dry spells. I apologize if I was unclear before, but I gave approval to the ScreenRant web source, not the Twitter (which DecepticonsFTW ended up using). I understand your reservation, but they do indicate that all the toys revealed will be in the film. Both of you seem to have a better understanding of where to get the information to, and I think you're both doing a great job. I still have the article watchlisted, so I may chime in here or there. Even though I can't actively edit the page, if you drop me a line regarding a source, I can comment on it for you. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:15, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Is it possible that we can get Gfyd to stop with the editing of the character list? He continuously removes all of the confirmed information from the site provided. - DecepticonsFTW (talk) 00:04, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Recent Trailer

edit

Ever since that trailer has dropped online, there have been tons of disruptive edits, backed up by no official confirmations or sources, but rather analyzations of what was seen in the trailer. Could you assist me in getting the page protected or just simply editing out all of the information added? It would be a big help. Thanks. - DecepticonsFTW (talk) 12:20, 6 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Editing is all I could do. I don't know if I have rights to make any articles protected. - CAJH (talk) 18:03, 6 March 2014 (EET)
This has nothing to do with the title, but, for that new edit, there were multiple Chevy Traxes seen being filmed during the Hong Kong shooting, following both Stinger and Galvatron, as well as a slew of sports car in vibrant colors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWpUWsP_trc&feature=youtu.be I think we should add the fact that there were numerous Traxes on set, because we have visual proof. It may not be a technical source, but it's proof. Besides, it may just end up being a random Decepticon drone. - DecepticonsFTW (talk) 21:22, 12 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately I'm don't know the rules of Wikipedia as well as FavreFan knew. - CAJH (talk) 14:55, 13 March 2014 (EET)

Two New Dinobot Reveals

edit

Due to the promotion of Transformers 4 on Frito-Lays in Turkey, a member of TFW2005 has collected most of the bags and has obtained passwords which unlock character images. He's revealed most of the known characters, but, he also revealed some new additions to the Dinobot roster: Snarl and Slog. Slog is basically G1 Sludge with movie treatment, but, the reason I come here is to ask should we include them. - DecepticonsFTW (talk) 00:27, 9 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Frank Welker

edit

Hey CAJH, I saw your edit to The Last Knight's article regarding Megatron's voice actor. Here's the thing - Wikipedia has some weird restrictions regarding certain pieces of information being added, namely to The Last Knight article. Even though it's been made all but certain that Welker will return to voice Megatron, they still won't allow it. I'll put it like this - there's a bunch of weird aspects/rules to the article.

  • A few months ago I and many other users added Wheelie to the cast because he was briefly seen in one of the new trailers. However, the edits were constantly being undone, which was justified by Wheelie being "almost unnoticeable" in the trailer. Then, Slug was briefly seen in a recent TV Spot, so I added him to the cast. Despite being as prominent as Wheelie was, Slug stayed on the cast. I don't know what the difference there is. I added Wheelie to the cast again, just for the heck of it. We'll see what happens with that.
  • The article also lists several unnamed Transformers - one of which is a McLaren. Yes, there's a red McLaren in the film. However, at no point was this confirmed as a Transformer. So that information is purely speculation, yet for whatever reason it hasn't been removed.
  • Perhaps the weirdest aspect of the article is in the Decepticons section. There's a hidden statement only visible while editing that section. It reads, "DO NOT REMOVE GALVATRON, CAUSE OF MEGATRON'S RETURN IT HAS BEEN HINTED HE WILL BE BACK TOO. KEEP IT HIDDEN UNTIL CONFIRMATION". Not only is this a very informal statement, but it also implies that Galvatron AND Megatron will appear in the film as two separate characters - something that has never been confirmed, let alone hinted at in the slightest.

To sum it all up, there's not much you can do. The article's got some really weird rules and it's best to not get frustrated over it. The movie comes out in a week, so things will definitely change then.

LS100Studios (talk) 14:29, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

You didn't need to tell me that. I wasn't going to add Welker's name second time anyways, unless there's a source for it. CAJH (talk) 15:11, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 16 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
