Chiming in here as well: my high-school teacher told us that "licence" is the noun, whereas "license" is the verb. This is even noted on wikt:license... dewet|✉ 12:10, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Foreign language terms in the Wikipedia:Music encyclopedia topics

I just saw you're working on these lists; I thought I'd point out a discussion we're having about the use of some of the foreign terms (which have common English equivalents and don't seem to be used in the foreign language in English) at Talk:Cadence (music).

I thought that animals were supposed to have unique names, or don't fossils count? Now that the article is moved and there is a DAB page I am not sure which one should have the AFC project tag, presumably the one with the original content. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:22, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Different projects support various different articles. There is an Articles for Creation project WP:AFCP, that gets articles from WP:AFC, and places a {{WPAFC}} tag on aticles that people contribute. That way we can keep track of how articles improve. (Mostly they don't improve a lot, most make it up to start class we hope). Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:37, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Flip an image

• I'll assume that the image is GFDL, which would mean that a slightly altered version would be acceptable. Save the image to your hard drive (if you need help figuring this out, please do ask me), then open it up in an image program such as Photoshop to do your flipping. Save the flipped version, then upload it with a different name than the original image; however, make sure that you have the same license and a note stating that the image was altered. Hi - I see you have recently created one or more new stub types. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Also, there seems to be some confusion with your creation of this category as to whether it's a stub category or a Stub-Class category (you had it in Category:Fish articles by quality, which would be fine if this was a Stub-Class category, which it isn't). Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. Well, as I wrote at WP:WSS/D, your new stub type makes more sense in some ways than the split we've been doing of fish stubs (which is by order). Hopefully someone who knows more about the way fish stubs should be split will commenty there, and we'll see where it goes from there. FWIW, listing it there rather than taking it straight for deletion means there's a good chance that it will be kept or modified as a useful stub type. Grutness...wha? 02:20, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

The source you've supplied at the summary line proves that as of April 2008 Israel and Mexico haven't been supported by CLS, but it doesn't contradict the sentences you've deleted, since they'd indicated that the information about Israel and about Mexico relates to May 2008 rather than to April. Remember that any statistics must have a citation. While it may not contradict the website, I could easily post that they accept Native American seashells, but this would not be acceptable, since there is no source to back me up on it. Talk:Euclidean geometry&action=edit

Hi, you have accidentally created a very oddly named talk page. I will respond here instead of there, and that page should be nominated for speedy deletion.

I turned the Parabolic geometry page into a redirect because it seemed to be a disambiguation page which wasn't disambiguating between anything. That is, disambig pages are meant to be a list of links to wikipedia articles with similar names, basically, but that page didn't appear to be doing that. I must say, though, that I know absolutely nothing about any of the mathematics related topics that the page was discussing, and I merely came upon this while doing cleanup on various disambiguation pages. If you feel that the page is best left the way it is, just remove the redirect, which would be far simpler than trying to explain to me what the page is actually trying to discuss. --Xyzzyplugh (talk) 20:18, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
