Misuses of WP:RFPP edit

Do not use WP:RFPP again until you understand what protection criteria. OhNoitsJamie Talk 19:54, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

I apologise I did that early against the rules by misreading the rules. I read the rules once more and fully understand it now. I will request again properly officially next week, 18th May 2022 once my registered already becomes an Autoconfirmed Wikipedia profile which grants me privileges to request for semi-protection of HarmonyOS. Thank you - BenHDev BenHDev (talk) 20:03, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
No, that's not how protection works. I'd suggest you *not* make the request again unless you under policy, which you clearly don't at this point. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:10, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Welcome! edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first pages you edited was HarmonyOS, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that page.

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

I can disclose, that the page has no affiliation to Huawei, it's not paid editing and it's neutral from my research on this specific topic of the operating system. BenHDev (talk) 20:37, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Windows 10 Mobile into Apk (file format). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 20:38, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Retro Respective edit

The article Retro Respective has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 22:50, 13 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

July 2022 edit

Hi BenHDev! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at HarmonyOS version history that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Greyjoy talk 19:06, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I dispute that, I forgot to add the information before submitting my edit BenHDev (talk) 19:08, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ben, this isn't a minor edit for example. Greyjoy talk 19:13, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
I said I stopped using that. BenHDev (talk) 19:17, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello BenHDev! Your additions to Architecture of HarmonyOS have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Sennecaster (Chat) 19:08, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve DevEco Studio edit

Hello, BenHDev,

Thank you for creating DevEco Studio.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

A large chunk of the DevEco Marketplace has been copied directly from https://www.huaweicentral.com/huawei-harmonyos-official-website-launches-deveco-marketplace/. Likewise, the DevEco Service section seems to be copied from https://developer.harmonyos.com/en/develop/deveco-service/; see https://copyvios.toolforge.org/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=DevEco+Studio&oldid=&action=search&use_engine=1&use_links=1&turnitin=0 for flagged paragraphs.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Paul2520}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

You were already warned about copyrighted content edit

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

OhNoitsJamie Talk 19:14, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have cited sources where the information is from, I have not abused the copyright content, I appeal this decision and request to be unblocked immediately and my work restored. BenHDev (talk) 19:19, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Unblock me now, this is not right. BenHDev (talk) 19:22, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
You have 48 hours to review our WP:COPYRIGHT policy. If you violate it after this block expires, the next block will be indefinite. OhNoitsJamie Talk 19:23, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Progress, has been lost and I want an appeal now. BenHDev (talk) 19:24, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
There are instructions for making an appeal in the block message above. OhNoitsJamie Talk 19:26, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I have cited sources with links in the citations on Architecture of HarmonyOS, HarmonyOS Version History and HarmonyOS page. I have been blocked for no solid evidence of copyright infringement.

Decline reason:

Clear copyright infringement from here. That page says "all rights reserved". If that is in fact your content, please modify that notice to indicate the content has been released under a compatible license. And please knock off the ludicrous personal attacks, below. That alone would be enough to block you and I'm frankly stunned you were only blocked for 48 hours here. Yamla (talk) 21:42, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Citing sources does not make it OK to copy large blocks of copyrighted content. OhNoitsJamie Talk 19:35, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Never did, I edited those. I was in the process of editing more. You blocked for no solid evidence and I want to be unblocked immediately. BenHDev (talk) 19:36, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
This is discrimination and I will take it to other moderators about this. Unblock me immediately. BenHDev (talk) 19:38, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Compare your edit with this Medium post which in turn copies quite a bit directly from this Harmony blog. Not sure what discrimination you are talking about. OhNoitsJamie Talk 19:40, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
It's discrimination, it's from my Medium post. I have direct knowledge of the HarmonyOS platform. Application Library Engineering Group, I have been developing Android apps for the Huawei ecosystem and Huawei Mobile Services. So this is discrimination and my appeal is blocked and I am going to appeal and report you to other moderates for your abuse of the blocking system. BenHDev (talk) 19:55, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Don't you dare try to flip this to justify your unjustified blocking. BenHDev (talk) 19:59, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
It is my Medium post, and I have cited from the official HarmonyOS blog. BenHDev (talk) 19:58, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
you have no proof of copyright infringement once again. BenHDev (talk) 20:02, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
The Medium post copies several sentences and paragraphs directly from the Harmony blog. Just because you got away with copying copyrighted content on Medium doesn't mean you can do the same thing here. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:04, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
No, you tried to catch me out before and you are trying to justify your unjustified block. I will not stop until you unblock my wiki account. BenHDev (talk) 20:05, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
You have no proof, just rhetoric. Absolutely unjustified BenHDev (talk) 20:05, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
It's pretty easy to find the sentences/paragraphs you copied just by looking at the links I posted above. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:12, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
It's pretty easy to block users because you are big man moderator. BenHDev (talk) 20:13, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
You posted absolutely nothing here. No proof BenHDev (talk) 20:14, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
You lot make me sick BenHDev (talk) 22:21, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Block upgraded to indefinite after ongoing attacks and incivility. OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:23, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
