Liam Durcan

Saw your additions to the Liam Durcan article that I've also done some editing on, and have questions regarding it being like an advert and notability, which you tagged it with. I didn't create the article, but added on info regarding his latest novel using references to reviews. I think I did cite the publisher too. Is that wrong? Too much like an advert? Looking at the Wikipedia guidelines for creative people notability, I suppose there could be an argument that Durcan's not notable. I don't know that everyone whose written a book or three need to be in Wikipedia. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Cheers. --Trb333 (talk) 15:53, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Deleted article restored

I am contacting you in connection with the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Two Sided Amphora 63.1515, which you initiated. I closed the discussion as "delete", but an editor has now contacted me, providing new sources. All but one of the sources are not available to me, so I cannot comment on their content, beyond the fact that they show that a larger number of scholarly works mention the amphora than was shown to be the case in the deletion discussion. However, I have obtained a copy of the other one of those sources, and I believe it significantly changes the situation from that which existed at the time of the AfD discussion. (It is available at http://www.jstor.org/stable/4171394 if you have JSTOR access.) Because I believe that this information significantly increases the amount of evidence of notability, I have recreated the article, but of course anyone who disagrees is free to take it back to AfD. I am informing everyone who took part in the discussion. The article is at Two-handled amphora (Boston 63.1515), having been moved from the original title given in the AfD page. Mel Norton

Hi Bearcat, thanks for the edits on Mel Norton. I was just going to get rid of all the copy and paste from his official website, but thankfully it's gone now. Cmr08 (talk) 18:33, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

Hi Bearcat,

I have just written my first article for wiki and would appreciate some feedback from someone experienced, before I get it live!

Would you be able to have a look at it for me? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Arden_University

Best wishes,

Disambiguation link notification for June 18

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2016 in Canadian television, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page BNN. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Hand Drawn Dracula

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hand Drawn Dracula requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Usterday (talk) 20:45, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

Woman city councilors

Hi Bearcat, a few things re: Woman city councilors. 1) Thank you for starting this category. 2) Should we rename it City Council members to match Category:American city council members and its subcategories and 3) I think we should just create all of the subcategories for each state or district already. There will be clearly be enough. Thoughts?--TM 10:01, 23 June 2016 (UTC)

Deletion of Mutamassik

Hello Bearcat. I wanted to suggest that Mutamassik's page be undeleted. Her work is notable. She has an entire chapter dedicated to her in the book Pink Noises (you can find it on google books), her solo work and work with morgan craft has been judged notable in avant-garde and electronic music circles, including being well-reviewed in the The Wire, Dangerous Minds, Le Monde, URB, and other respected music journals and magazines. Moreover women electronic music artists (like many marginalized groups) suffer from a vicious circle of being underreported on in media during and after impressive careers of creativity and influence and then judged not notable enough to be included in accounts of that era. I note there are several lists of women electronic musicians, which suggests that people find women electronic musicians notable in themselves, but beyond that Mutamassik's impressive and globe-spanning career makes her an inspiration to many. show it to me

Show me the 2013 versions of the Tim Bosma article and it will help me write it. I am not about to waste time if I slave on it only to it deleted.

I have no vested interest in Tim Bosma. I never heard of the guy until recently. Tim Bosnia (talk) 23:51, 27 June 2016 (UTC)

If you are still active editing

You might like to look at the John Yang article. He is not longer at NBC (large NBC template had to go), and his self-published LinkedIn, ABC, and NBC bios, cited throughout, are both non-independent, and (practically), all were deadlinks, and untraceable!. So, nearly all inline citations came out, as nonworking/untraceable, but I added and corrected three (updating and fixing the Chicago Tribune and the Backlot—from deadlinks—and adding a PBS, so his latest job is sourced).

Bottom line, the article looks bad because none of its earlier citations / links were valid or working, but it is improved in that the citations that are there, are all good, and properly formatted. Take a look if it interests you. Cheers. Le Prof 50.129.227.141 (talk) 00:07, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Shawn Stewart Ruff

Greetings Bearcat, thank you so much for reaching out to me about the Draft:Shawn_Stewart_Ruff article. I've added three more sources. Please let me know if this edit is enough for approval. Take care! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theloudestfire (talkcontribs) 19:56, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

Hello again Bearcat, Is there any format that I can use to post the links that were posted previously? You mentioned that External links isn't the correct place for those links, my apologies for the error. I intended to mimic other authors pages and found the "External links" section contained on the Chuck_Palahniuk page. Could you please let me what section I should place the interview and review links under if any? Many thanks and happy Canada day!Theloudestfire (talk) 19:30, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Hummer (band)

The article Hummer (band) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

One album release, no indication of any notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. WENY

Hello Bearcat, I understand you wrote the original content for the WENY AM/FM/TV page. Curious if you have a connection to Elmira or WENY? Anyway, I am planning to add a line or two about my father, who worked at WENY for many years; from 1944 to 1962 and again from about 1972 until he fully retired around 2000. His name was Ted Hodge. In the late 1970s he hosted a call-in show at 6 pm every weeknight called Voice of the People. Toward the end of his career, he worked part time but he was still going in every day Monday - Friday to do news breaks. An article about him in the Elmira Star-Gazette, in May 1985 when he was nearly 77, opines that at that time he might have been the country's oldest radio broadcaster still working daily. He had been in radio since high school, loved the work, and never wanted to do anything else. Cheers! Maryann.long (talk) 23:16, 8 July 2016 (UTC) (maryann dot long at gmail dot com)

Re: Renominated for deletion

Thanks for lending a hand at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Sebastian_Brown_(2nd_nomination). On your point (B) I can assure you Nate Diddly isn't the subject of the article himself – I am. I nominated it because I don't want there to be an article about me in the first place, in addition the fact it also looks like it doesn't even belong on Wikipedia anyway. I definitely used to know "Nate Diddly" – I'm almost certain I went to school with him, I still have him on Facebook, and apparently he's now a music promoter in Toronto and New York. I don't know whether that constitues a conflict of interest? Brownsc (talk) 14:54, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, I re-read your comment and realized you had referred to the nominator and not the creator of the article. My mistake. Brownsc (talk) 23:38, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Can you take a goosie at Samantha Smith ? I know it's featured, but it became featured years ago when en-wiki's standards were looser. Paul Benjamin Austin (talk) 21:22, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

Robert Pichette

Hi there, I'm quite new to this. Robert Pichette asked me to update the Wikipedia article of himself. I am not a historian and am not interested in doing scholarly work in New Brunswick history. I have found a few websites that state that he did develop the NB Flag. I've tried to make both French & English pages the same. I'm not sure what else I should do. I started working on this a few days ago and saw that his page had broken links that didn't exist anymore. Do you need other sources for other aspects of his life? Please advise. How long do I have to fix things? — Preceding unsigned comment added by JeanPichette (talkcontribs) 03:13, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

Please go to : User_talk:JeanPichette#Robert_Pichette to read more as I've added sources as you requested.

Any update or is it still "to be deleted?" Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JeanPichette (talkcontribs) 02:54, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
