Y26Z3 Sockpuppet investigation

Since you had involvement in the blocking of user Y26Z3 because of his edits at Lusitanic, I thought you'd be interested to know that I believe he has created a new sockpuppet through which he is beginning to make similar edits and is again lobbying for the deletion of Lusitanic. I linked to the page posted, and a window popped up telling me I have a virus, trying to induce me to continue on and probably to try to get me to buy some fake anti-virus software. I couldn't close the window, so I had to abort it via Task Manager. I then ran Malwarebytes, and it said I do NOT have a virus. Not sure if it's gonna do any good

I think we may have to accept that someone just wants to play criminal defendant. If multiple editors point out the relevant policy and they continue to ask for the relevant policy, they're not worth dealing with unless they do something disruptive. It looked liked the thread was going to lose focus, as the so frequently do, so I went to nip it in the bud. And it worked. If you think it was you personally I was going after, it wasn't. I'll be doing it whenever I catch it early enough if I think I can try and keep the question on target, no matter who and no matter what political stripe. Wiki bullies

You once mentioned I should take them to ANI. I think I can handle them but their constant dispruptions are messing up my attempts at editing wikipedia. See: Wikipedia:Gun debates in article space (and the article talk page), Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)#Wikipedia:Gun_debates_in_article_spaceand my talk page. There are a few more places but they are small and similar. User:Viriditas and User:Arcandam are the only two, the others are not involved I don't think. I would like your opinion if it is worth going to ANI, a bureaucrat, WMF users I know from meta and commons, or just emailing the WMF media cyber bully people. Electric Catfish

The fellow has put up a retired banner over this affair. Very sorry to see that happen. I wonder if you hadn't immediately taken the report to ANI if the fellow would not have a retired banner up right now. Wikichecker shows he never edits after 0200 UTC so there was no emergent need for admin action. I expect some of my remarks may have been too harsh as well, and have apologised to Elec. Catfish. I shouldn't participate on notice boards late at night; I could have handled this better. And Bugs, you did not post anything at all on the other fellow's page before you took him to ANI. It would seem to me that the English-speaking world outside the US tends to believe the "USA-ns doesn't understand irony" stereotype. Erm, see: Bill Hicks, Phyllis Diller, Will Ferrell, and so many more.
I've quoted Zonker from Doonesbury on my userpage. Very early on in that University career I bought Republican Party Reptile the same year it came out. Read it and fell about the place laughing. Hello BaseballBugs. I really am sorry to revert an edit of yours, as I said in the edit summary, since I've observed your work and respect it. One huge pet peeve of mine that is becoming particularly prevalent in articles on baseball players is the tendency to begin every sentence with "On [say] June 9, 2012...", while the next sentence begins "On June 23, 2012...", etc. It is an understandable outgrowth of articles that are written 'in real time', but I try to fight it when possible, as it makes for wretched prose, and it frankly drives me crazy. It is especially unnecessary in a place like the Thome article, in a section that describes a single season (half a season, actually) and thus need not attach the year to every single date. Up to now I've had respect for your opinions. But recently it appears that you speak, and make personal accusations, without bothering to understand what you're talking about. Considering the usual thought you put behind your writing, the number of transparently false statements you've made in the last few days has really surprised me. You've been no better than Beyond My Ken, whose claims are so idiotic that they wouldn't be worth debunking if others didn't take them up without fact checking. Is this a bad time for you, or can I expect this lack of rigor in the future? Do you just not bother with facts when you disagree with someone? Because in the past, when you said something, say at the ref desk, I took it as equivalent to a RS. I've got a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.8.1, and am using Safari version 6.0 - and both your talk and user page have the same bizarre scrunching thing when I look at it on this computer. Cubic camden yards to build Ruth's house

Hi, Bugs, I was just (s)trolling nostalgically through Talk:Yankee Stadium (1923) for the sake of fond old memories, when I noticed an unanswered comment from last January about an apparently incorrect conversion of 20,000 cubic yards of concrete used in building the Stadium to 26,000 cubic meters. I used a conversion template (after a little wikiresearch) to convert those 20,000 cu. yds to 15,000 cubic meters, but of course neither Wyvern (the original enquirer) nor I know how many cubic yards were used (unlike, say, how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall). There's a minute but still finite chance that 26,000 cubic meters of very concrete concrete were indeed used in the Bronx, but incorrectly converted to 20,000 cu yds in the matterless ether of Wikispace (think of Plato's Cave). The supposed supporting ref on the temple garment article describing about current LDS Church policy using a youth magazine article from 1977 is about as timely as using a reference from that same year to describe how the Commodore PET is the latest, most current state of the art in home computing. Just wanted to say that I agree with your comments at WP:ANI#Legal threats. Unfortunately, when I was looking into nominating the article for AfD, I didn't look properly at the new editor's talk page. It was unfortunate that the IP was a bit BITE-y with the templates. I'm not sure it would have changed me from ultimately nominating the article for deletion, but it would have least prompted me to start a conversation beforehand.

Baseball articles being written like hockey articles

Baseball Bugs, I need your help. I have recently gone by the user account name Silvercoindinerman and I have been editing baseball articles that have their histories incorrect. I have fixed these pages, but a hockey administrator that goes by the name of User:Djsasso has reverted all of my edits back and now the articles that I edited now either have their histories incorrect or their page outdated again. For example, I discovered that the Richmond Flying Squirrels were established in 1923 as the Binghamton Triplets so I expanded the team's history with references but it is now reverted back by Djsasso and now it says the team was established in 1972 as the West Haven Yankees which is totally wrong. He didn’t even restore the Binghamton Triplets article either which still redirects to the Flying Squirrels page and he did not erase the Flying Squirrels info from the Eastern League page which still says there are the oldest team in the league which I wrote that. He even redirected pages to the wrong destination. He one time redirected the Erie Cardinals name to the Erie Sailors page. That redirect belongs to the State College Spikes page because the Erie Cardinals were not renamed Sailors. He also did the same thing to the Newark Orioles name to the Hamilton Redbirds page which is not corrected either. It should be redirected to the Hudson Valley Renegades page because the Newark Orioles relocated to Erie to become the Erie Orioles, renamed Sailors later and later relocated to Hudson Valley to become the Renegades. These redirects are now redirected to the correct page but will most likely be redirected the wrong way again. There are also talk pages that he didn't restore either. On baseball team articles, I even added photos for the major league players who played with these teams in the past, but are now reverted back again by Djsasso. He also automatically reverted other info that was not done by me as well. Another user added an awards section to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs article, but now it is not there anymore because Djsasso reverted the last version of the page which the last version was edited by me. Djsasso is treating baseball articles like hockey articles. I am treating baseball articles as good articles and I am showing respect for every teams' history by correcting/expanding the history and to show the great major league players who played through the organization of these clubs in the past. I have been bullied off of Wikipedia for a long time and I can't take it anymore. Djsasso and other hockey administrators think I'm a vandal, but I'm not. He just doesn't like me period. I see a vandal on Wikipedia as a person who writes stupid inappropriate stuff and who tries to be fun for example, a user one time changed the name of the Columbus Blue Jackets page to Columbus Dust Jackets and changing their location from Columbus, Ohio to Dust City, Ohio. I have learned my lesson on wikipedia on how to edit articles, but Djsasso and other hockey administrators don’t think so. I can't stop him for messing up team histories. Kansas City and the Birth of the Blues

Hi, Bugs, when I was glancing at the Twins' page to see if they were in Mpls or St. Paul, I noticed no ballpark entry in the Information Box for their pre-prehistory as the Kansas City Blues of the Western League (1894-1901). It would be no great challenge for me to find one, but I think you or another knowledgeable editor could probably get a sounder answer much faster, and then edit the infobox accordingly.

¶ Speaking of which, one of the old-timers interviewed in a Charlie Parker documentary I saw a couple of years ago recounted that when Kansas City was wide-open under the Pendergasts (Harry Truman's patrons) under Prohibition, a typical roadhouse might attract underworld types, to be followed naturally by the ladies of the night, and where the gangsters and whores were to be found, the jazz musicians would be sure to follow! • Alright, OK. Here's how to take care of a fruit fly problem: Take a yellow bowl or deep dish (fruit flies are attracted to the color yellow). Pour water in, then add some vinegar (fruit flies are also called vinegar flies), add a droplet of dishwashing liquid (to reduce the water's surface tension, so that the flies will sink into the water and drown). Then wait a couple of days. If there are still flies around, and the vinegar begins to smell after a couple of days, just repeat the process. Yedioth Ahronoth is a reliable source as it meets the conditions set in WP:RS. That it published something written by an outside contributor that I find racist does not change that. I share suspicions about the agency's reliability, but I don't believe there's any cause for calling anyone who thinks that it's at least situationally credible totally antisemitic. I believe you are wrong on that and crossed a very important line here in making that explicit claim against Nableezy.

I know where you're coming from, but that's a very big brush you have and very black tar, and Nableezy is not that kind of guy. We've both known him for some years on WP. He does not deserve that. It's not reasonable.

The organization may or may not be antisemitic, in addition to its obvious native bias as a Palestinean based news agency. That said, people supporting it or supporting fair discussion of its value and reliability are not associatively natively biased or potentially antisemitic. That's like calling me a right-wing nut because I read Soldier of Fortune or the Turner Diaries at times (and consider SoF an accurate source for some specific topics, though nothing good comes from the Turner Diaries other than insight into its authors' somewhat disturbed mental state). I also read Trotskyist publications, the New York Times, watch both PBS and Fox News, etc.

Please take a step back and retract or strike through the accusation about Nableezy.
