American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame

Hi Atsme, long time no talk. I hope you are well. I was working on the horse articles contained in the article American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame making edits like fixing broken links or correcting where bots had put in archive links and changing them to live links that had just been reorganized, and some other edits. For a complete list, see my talk page under the heading QHs. I also took the time to add each article that was missing to your category Category:AQHA Hall of Fame (horses). The category only had about 12 members in it when I started. It now includes all of the articles from the aforementioned hall of fame article and numbers 87 members. It should be a much more useful category now.

I also just completed an expansion of a horse article Make It Do, who is both an AQUA Hall of Fame member and a ProRodeo Hall of Fame member, where he was known as Peanuts. In looking for a particular source for one of his rodeo hall of fame induction pages (which I never found), I came across this really interesting article in "Racing - The American Quarter Horse Racing Journal" entitled "All Around Hand" which is about the horse's owner who trained him for racing. Stan Immenschuh is a very interesting person although there is not a lot about him on the Internet. Apparently, he was a cowboy who also trained race horses and cutting horses, could rodeo himself and was a friend and associate of Bubba Cascio. I just thought you might like to read the article or even might have uses for it as a source. Unfortunately, I could not find anything that makes him notable himself, but still very interesting. If you haven't already seen it, that is. There is an article about him on AQHA's web site too. But it is mostly just a repeat about what he said regarding Peanuts. Hi Dawnleelynn Good job on the AQHA Hall of Fame work. Right now, I'm focused on Irma - have family & friends in Key West who refused to evacuate. I'm storm tracking and unable to focus on much more. I just struggled through the Harvey disaster worrying about family & friends in the Houston area who decided to sit it out and made some stalls available for horses that barely escaped. I didn't realize this. How wonderful you could find shelter for some horses. But very trying to worry about loved ones who wouldn't evacuate. Oh yes that must be difficult and yes definitely a first priority. I'll say prayers. I have a family member in Dallas, so was blessed they were not closer. I've closed this report - I don't think there's much of a case to answer at the moment, except to say that it might be worth putting your edits on Dismissal of James Comey to one side and just handling the RfCs on the talk - US politics are a hotbed of strong opinions at the moment (to put it politely) and I wouldn't want to see you wander into something silly like a 1RR block. Why is it a 1RR violation - that was my 1st revision revert. The rest was simply copy editing. I don't think IDONTLIKEIT overrules NPOV. I think on a technicality, this string of edits is one revert, as you're changing existing stuff in the article, and this is the second. However, I don't like splitting hairs like that, and I certainly wouldn't use it as a device to block a long-standing editor. It would cause more problems than it solves. Since you've been so gracious, I'll ask a second question - I demonstrated on the article TP the simple grammatical changes I made but it actually goes one step farther - per WP:V All quotations, and any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged, must include an inline citation that directly supports the material. The lede as currently written is whitewashing what happened, it's "iffy" at best, and as you say, it's splitting hairs. My concern was stating the facts and the lede makes it sound like he was dismissed from the meeting rather than presenting the facts of what actually happened. Using "dismissal" caused another sentence to be written to explain the dismissal. Jiminy Cricket!! I used in-text attribution that factually reflects what happened and that was it.Atsme📞📧 15:35, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
The wording has been discussed to death on talk before. That's why your revert was disruptive. You completely ignored what others have worked out and jumped in there unilaterally to try and impose your version on the article. Also, can you please self revert this? Yeah, that's specificolly where you earned mine.[FBDB] Well, I've tried to forget what I was forced to endure back then - forgive & forget 🍺 - but every now and then a member of the old gang shows up and can't resist stirring up old memories. All I wanted to do was improve the article, submit it to DYK and get it promoted to GA (I was a "collector" back then). It took a while before I realized that particular BLP would serve its time here as a coatrack.
  • My version would have looked more like this: Dick Pound is a documentary filmmaker and author of "Chemtrails Leave No Cracker Crumbs", an Amazon best seller (2012-2014). The book recieved mixed reviews[citation needed] but had wide appeal, and was well received by enthusiasts of conspiracy theories and connoisseurs of soda crackers, salted and unsalted. Pound's friend, Moe Lester, a chemist for the aerospace giant, MacDonald-Berger, was head of the company's jet vapor research team. He told Pound that he found traces of aluminum in the jet vapors, but was more concerned over what was happening at high altitudes. He explained that the cold temperatures at altitude caused the vapors to formed into a solid which caused them to fall to earth, breaking into pieces as they fell. By the time they hit the ground, they had crystallized into shiney crumpled-up pieces of aluminum that looked very much like a tin foil hat. It was that discovery along with some persuasion from Lester that convinced Pound to write the book.
  • The opposition's version looked more like this: Dick Pound is a conspiracy theorist who authored Chemtrails Leave No Cracker Crumbs. The book was highly criticized by the scientific community, many of whom confirmed that chemtrails do not leave cracker crumbs; rather they leave quacker crumbs. Sue Yoo, a chemical engineer at Cornmeal University and head of the Jetson Vapor Project called Pound "a lunatic charlaton" and that he should not be allowed to write books. Then came the AfD train.

Mechanical Battery

Hi, wondering why you changed the content of Mechanical Battery to redirect to the Battery disambig. I don't think this is appropriate, since most of the content of that page has nothing to do with mechanical batteries. If anything, I'd think that the sublinks under "A mechanical battery, storing energy by mechanical means" on that disambig page should be removed in favor of linking to the Mechanical Battery page. Hi,Fresheneesz - I didn't actually "change" the content; rather, it was redirected to a dab page to help readers find the correct article they seek. Oftentimes readers don't use the exact words necessary to find an article, so a dab page helps in that it gives readers a list of choices to expedite their search. Also, when there are existing articles that already provide the necessary information for a particular topic, and in this case, regarding "mechanical batteries", the DAB helps them locate it. WP doesn't make a practice of redundancy. Having said the latter, a spin-off article may be warranted when there is adequate information properly cited to WP:RS that justify a standalone article per WP:PAG. Hope that helps. Sangdeboeuf, please WP:DTR and stop with the innuendo and false allegations. I haven't demanded anything, especially to do things "my way". That casts a shadow of WP:OWN on you. I'm here to build an encyclopedia, get the article right, and work in a collaborative manner without having to squabble. I actually have other things to do including NPP and AfC, and I need to spend a bit of time at DR/N so I try to keep time sinks to a minimum. Everything I mentioned on the article TP is supported by and cited to RS as I described for all editors to review. We cannot sweep controversy under the rug, especially when it is the reason for one's notability. Sarsour has tweeted some highly contentious tweets, (not unlike Trump), has been quite bold in her comments, and has received widespread coverage in MSM for various reasons. She is far more than just another advocate on a soapbox, and it's our job to write about the most notable aspects in a dispassionate tone from a NPOV without giving the appearance WP supports her advocacy or is being used as a soapbox for it per WP:NOT. As editors, we leave our biases at login and look only at the technical aspects of an article - UNDUE, BALANCE, V, NPOV, OR, etc. In the future, I ask that you please confine your comments about Sarsour to the article TP. Oh, thank you for removing it. It was a strike-thru so I didn't think of it as being undignified considering he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI which should be far more of a human dignity concern than my misspelling of his name.   Just curious... what drew your attention to that one comment by me and not any other "entitled to a little human dignity" issues on that same TP? I don't take responsibility for the page as a whole, I merely watch it desultorily. This IP edit turned up on my watchlist and I clicked to look, and caught sight of your poopy fun higher up in the diff, where it stood out because it was crossed out. (Yes, crossing out draws the eye, especially in edit mode.) And no, it's not the case that you get to make crude fun of people because they have pleaded guilty to criminal acts. The strikeout just caught Bishonen's eye, and was not the substantive issue. It was your mockery of a living person that was the problem, and you should be scrupulous to avoid that in the future. Well, first off, I respect MelanieN - her editing abilities are admirable, and I sincerely appreciate every opportunity I get to collaborate with her - but I have to come clean in order to salvage my own credibility and why I made the humorous misspelling of the name - MelanieN did a pretty good job of misspelling it inadvertently with Pappadopopulos and that is why I took it to the next level of humor. Her mistake was innocent - mine was intended to be humorous based on her mistake. It had nothing to do with anything else, so there you have it. My explanation is not for the purpose of ridiculing an admin I admire but since this whole ordeal has escalated to the point it has...well, my only concern is to avoid being railroaded into a block or reprimand I don't deserve...not that I didn't deserve the reminder, but I just wanted to make my intentions known. I'd appreciate your comments here

I have posted a proposal on the BLP talk page and would appreciate you looking at the proposal I have made. I would value your input as although I usually don't agree with quite a lot of what you say and you probably think I'm a bit of a moron, I think you are quite well versed on policy and are also appropriately sensitive to the meanings of words, and in particular accusatory terminology. I should make it clear that I have no idea whether or not you would support the proposal and lean toward thinking that you would reject it on the grounds that you find me about as amusing as a pantomime clown dancing at a funeral dirge.   •  awards: On 5 November, 2017, Robert McClenon received the Template:Dispute Resolution Noticeboard Award, Grade 4 by Kostas20142 and Yashovardhan Dhanania "for his extraordinary dedication and tireless contribution to DRN as a successful Coordinator from December 2016 to May 2017 and a ever helping volunteer since July 2014"
  • Preceding coordinator: Nihlus will be the next coordinator, with term from December, 2017 to January, 2018
  • Ongoing discussions: A discussion is currently ongoing regarding new volunteer awards system as proposed here. The proposal is still in brainstorming stage, and anyone may comment or add their ideas.

Requesting an IP address block exemption, because I am at an event out of state and my iPad IP address has fallen into an area that is blocked for another week. I will be in this location for 2 weeks and need to use my iPad to edit because it has a real keyboard while my cell phone is a horrible little device for such use. Hi Atsme, I saw your AE statement and can see two problems with it. First of all, such edit can not be reasonably viewed as a topic ban violation by another contributor. You can't reasonably argue that editing anything related to any politician who has been endorsed by D.Trump was a topic ban violation with respect to D.Trump. Second, and more important, the request was about you. Do you think that if someone else violated his restriction, that excuses you? Really? Well maybe you can explain your reasoning to James J. Lambden (I'm not pinging him because I don't want any further misconceptions of his block or TB). I would have self-reverted had I known that reverting a TB editor was going to result in a TB editor getting a free pass but another editor beat me to it, and #2 - I only reverted what I believed to be the revert of a TB user. I'll add that if he wasn't TB, he damn sure should have been. If GF editors are unable to see the NPOV violations (BLP policy vios) and how the system is being gamed, shame on them. I can see the following problems with your explanation. First, the edit by another contributor was not a topic ban violation. Second, you did not indicate in any of your edit summaries that you reverted something you perceived as a topic ban violation by another contributor. Finally, and most important, when your first edit was reverted you suppose to start discussion on article talk page per WP:BRD to achieve consensus. Atsme, I wasn't comfortable posting this anywhere else, but I'd like you to know what I see when I evaluate your edits... Particularly since you requested diffs showing problematic behavior, and I believe honest criticism can be a starting place for self-awareness and improvement. You have accused VM (and others) of hounding you, discussed him rudely after failing to notify him on an admin's talk page, and accused him and others of OWN (again without notifying him or anyone else). I went back farther in your editing history, and it just goes on and on. You repeat the behavior with others, alternating between playing the victim and what reads like outright tedentious editing. Your edits seem to gaslight your colleagues, accusing them (whether incorrectly or correctly) of behavior that your edits also commit and essentially shutting down discussion as a result. You appear to harass editors who have told you to stay away from their talk pages, and then run to an admin's talk page to apparently block shop after you were rightly accused of canvassing (and again fail to notify anyone). You exhibit general NOTHERE behavior when you argue that our job is to "not piss off readers" who are fans of certain media celebrities rather than report what RS say about those celebrities. You further demonstrate NOTHERE behavior when you beg the question "Has WMF experienced any decrease in monetary contributions based on en.WP's political slant or is everything still on track?" on Jimbo's page and then ask "How can we make these stats work for us?" when the data paints a different picture than the one you wanted to see. You miscite policy constantly Wikilawyering to a degree that shuts down discussion, discourages participation heavily, or the other party simply asks you to leave.

I also saw plenty of constructive edits where you put your experience and expertise to good use, but most of them were outside of AP2. I hope you take this as intended, and at least take a look at the tone of your editing to reflect on how your fellow volunteers might interpret it. I have been relentlessly hounded by several of the above named IPs and socks as a few of the provided diffs will demonstrate, the 207.222.59.50 IP appears to be the same type of hounding but with slight variations to possibly hide who it is but the targets/patterns are the same SPA who is focused on political articles & gaming the system, targets & harasses users with whom he disagrees. This IP started editing Sept 29, 2017 to participate in a survey. Following are the diffs to support why I believe this is the same blocked user who hides behind IPs to evade his block: best to start with this exchange, [7], [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], [13], [14], [15], [16], [17], [18], [19], [20], [21], [22], [23], [24], [25]

Hi Atsme! We finally have some progress on the GA review. Could you help me out a tiny bit with one of the reviewer's questions? See Talk:Charmayne James. They have said the following about the Career earnings section.

"This section looks like an indiscriminate list to me, unless you could explain how this is relevant."

I'd like to add content to describe the list as accurately as possible in the correct ProRodeo terminology. Who better to do that? I am not sure how to explain it between the NFR and the WPRA involvement, or if that matters.

About your RfC: You were prevented by WP:Neutrality from putting your argument ("if the president says something, that means it isn't classified") into the questions themselves. That's as it should be. But that doesn't stop you from putting your argument into the discussion section. Without that explanation, it isn't even really clear what you are asking or why. Explain it in the the discussion section, as briefly and pointedly as you can. So I really do not know why you did it ...? Tour Was it just published, and there are no more dates than these. I'll soon add a picture. I very closely follow the work of Lepa Brena, I am her fan. So I think it's really not right to register a page for deletion. Brena will soon release a new album, so this whole story will expand as well as the tour of course.
