Flags addition in NIT Trichy page edit

In the wikipedia page of National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, I have added the flag icons before the names of the MoU universities. But you are removing it. If you check the wikipedia pages of École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Sharif University of Technology, they have flag icons before their MoU university names. Please let the flag icons be in the page of National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli.

Thanks for your message Tigerson1995. The fact that flags are used on some other articles is not a reason to include it in this one. I can find lots of articles that do not include flags, e.g. Australian National University and VNIT Nagpur. But that is not the point. The simple fact is that the relevant guideline says flags should not be used unless unnecessarily. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 00:06, 23 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Niimi edit

Hi, just letting you know that I had to remove your additions to the Niimi, Okayama article. The blog you linked to is clearly written by the JET teachers themselves, so it is not a reliable independent source of information. If a newspaper publishes about the JET programme in Niimi, then we can include the information. Regards, AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 06:24, 31 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I see what you are saying. Several newspapers have written about the JET programme in Niimi, but I didn't think to include them. Here is a list of a few:
Additionally, the Niimi JET Programme ALTs' work has been featured on live Japanese television in both news reports (a snippet of which is shown in Article 2 above), as well as in the Niimi JET Programme ALTs' own television show to help teach English language through a different medium. Some of those episodes have been uploaded to YouTube and can be found here (English Paradise (Niimi JET Programme ALT television show) - Episode 1, English Paradise - Episode 2)
The ALTs are also featured in the local magazine every month, to add English language content for the citizens of Niimi.
Niimi is actually one of the Japanese government's 'guinea pig' regions for English language education, which is why it is home to 12 ALTs despite its very small size, whereas larger cities like Okayama City only have around 3 or 4. However, I have no references to that, hence why I had not written that on the Wikipedia page for Niimi.
Is this not enough evidence to mention the pioneering work that is done here for English language education?

ITN recognition for Tokitenkū Yoshiaki edit

Just a quick thanks edit

This is in regard to Makoto Sakurai (activist). I just want to appreciate your clean ups and marking info as something that needs citation. I'm slow at finding where precisely I saw/read certain things in the past or finding where Sakurai himself got the information, and I may never get there. But it gets me motivated to improve the page even if it means a little bit. ありがとうございます。これからもよろしくお願いします。--Minfremi (talk) 07:59, 8 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your message Minfremi. As well as citations, another point to keep an eye on is the "voice" of the article. In other words, you have to be careful that it does not sound like Wikipedia itself is making a claim. (e.g. "Sakurai says baseball is better than soccer" instead of "Baseball is better than soccer"). I try to be clear in edit summaries, but don't hesitate to ask me why I did something. Cheers, AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 08:16, 8 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Minami Itahashi edit

On 9 February 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Minami Itahashi, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that at 14 years of age, Minami Itahashi was the youngest person to win a springboard diving event at the Japanese national championships? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Minami Itahashi. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Minami Itahashi), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

RE April 12 and other dates edit

To reduce the size of the Births and Deaths sections to make them manageable, those individuals, especially celebrities with few or no articles in other wikipedias, are being removed in line with the guidelines. Please contact Deb if you have any questions. Of course if you object to a particular edit you are free to restore it but please consider the guidelines (see here). Also, please do not make blanket reverts unless every single change in an edit is objectionable, which ordinarily should not be the case. Yours, Quis separabit? 22:09, 20 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

RE:2004 Nippon Professional Baseball realignment edit

Thanks! That article is a long time coming. Still have to do a section on the formation of the Eagles though. I submitted it to DYK so hopefully you see it on the front page soon! --TorsodogTalk 21:25, 21 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

new pages/main pages edit

the number of obvious names from a certain location that 'play' with main space articles is never ending - at new pages the stat must be astronomical JarrahTree 00:36, 9 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yes, sometimes the obviousness is too obvious! What puzzled me on this occasion was the link was to an Australian's blog, which I wasn't expecting. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 00:57, 9 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
