Referencing

edit

Apparently, you broke quite a few rules regarding Wikipedia's copyright policy when you put up your last references. Could you please brief me about what exactly went wrong? Hope Gurmeet has been giving you a few pointers in the meantime.--Jinchurikidan (talk) 14:39, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Blocked

edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted, as you did at Partial equilibrium. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 13:16, 8 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I understand that you're a student in a Wikipedia-oriented course and that you're still learning the ropes, and I do not intend this to be an infinite-time block, but you must stop inserting copyrighted material into articles, and since a warning did not stop you from that, I've had to block you. Please discuss our copyright policy and how you can follow it with your class's ambassador; when you've done that, you and your ambassador should post here to your talk page explaining that the issue has been addressed and I will lift the block. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 13:16, 8 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

SORRY

edit

I would like to thank you for the extraordinary work that you are doing to keep Wikipedia safe from copyright violations. I would like to apologies for the fact that i have violated copyright issues and I deeply express my sorrow for the same. I have understood the importance of copyright violation and would not do the same again. I would also like to request you to help me with my article with your valuable comments. please unblock me as soon as possible as my deadline is approaching very fast. Anu2033 (talk) 18:42, 14 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please have your ambassador confirm here or on my talk page that they have spoken to you since you were blocked about our copyright policies. Once they do that, I will unblock you. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 18:46, 14 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hey, User:Fluffernutter a_r_n here, I met User:Anu2033 today, and told her about what she should be avoiding and how not to simply copy paste stuff on WP. I think she is pretty clear with what exactly Wikipedia:Plagiarism is now, so please unblockher and if she goes on violating copyrights again, please do block her back. Rangilo Gujarati (talk) 15:58, 16 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Unblocked

edit

I have unblocked you, following your ambassador's assurance that you now understand our copyright policy. Please remember that as a general rule, you should never copy-and-paste (or re-type) someone else's writing into Wikipedia. If you are at any point not sure if what you want to add to an article would be a copyright violation, check with your ambassador before you add it, because you will be reblocked if you resume violating copyrights. Good luck with the rest of your class! A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 16:03, 16 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of Topics

edit

Hey Anu2033,

I saw that you had listed Regional Rural Bank as your topic for Indian Banking and Financial Systems for Year 2 Group A. Unfortunately, I had to remove that as Mahima.chawla (talk · contribs) has selected the same topic for her Economics of the Social Sector Year 2 Group A assignment. As she had selected this long before, you possibly can't work on the same topic, unless your Professors for both the subjects allows you to do so, grading you for the content to be added. If you do get such permission, do inform me on my talk page and I will insert the topic back. However, I would best advise you to select a different topic altogether for clarity of gradation.

Do reach me for any help or clarifications. Your friendly neighbourhood Campus Ambassador, --Debastein1 (talk) 23:13, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your article on Credit Control

edit

Hey Anu! I read your article on Credit Control, and I'm really happy that you are putting efforts to make it better.

I would like to give you few suggestions on same...

  • The structure of article look good
  • If possible please make it generic, i.e., instead of writing RBI you can write in the Central Bank or Treasury like Reserve Bank of India or FDI. Your link to RBI is pointing to some other article "Run battle in" which has no relevance, so make sure if you are adding a link it points to the right page.
  • Add more illustrations i.e., pictures, formulas etc.
  • Add more references
  • Don't write in ALL CAPS, it's like SCREAMING, AVOID IT!
  • You have not yet created a section for "Quantitative Methods"

All I'll say is you have taken a great topic to write and make it a great article!

Cheers,

Ram (talkcontribs) 08:20, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Partial Equilibrium Review

edit

Hey Anu!

I went through your article and I can say that it's shaping up AWESOMELY Well!!!!

I read the whole article and loved it!

Few suggestions:

  • Put the "Limitations" section in end, coz most of the article follow that layout.
  • First specify the long form and then use the abbreviations for e.g., MR , although I know MR stands for Marginal Revenue, but there are users who don't know it, and might give up while figuring it out.
  • Put internal links inside the article for e.g., put MR or Marginal Revenue in square brackets for e.g., [[Marginal revenue]], it will create a link to the existing Wikipedia article and help readers to navigate.
  • Make formulas Bold, and if possible in a single line
  • Add more references
  • Add a Category i.e., which category this article belongs
  • Add a side bar for e.g., a Economic sidebar, just put this {{Economics sidebar}}
  • Put more figures/diagrams if possible.

I'm really impressed with your article and hope that we can work on to make it a "Good Article" like Robinson Crusoe Economy by Abhilasha.

Keep the great work going!

Cheers,

Ram (talkcontribs) 19:06, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey Anu!
By redirecting I mean put a link to your article in double square brackets like for e.g., [[Partial Equilibrium]] and that's it! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramshankaryadav (talkcontribs) 14:51, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Anu!
I went through your article User:Anu2033/sandbox and found few thing which needs to be corrected.
  • Change the title to "Credit Control by Reserve Bank of India"
  • Your link to RBI is pointing to Run batted in, please chage it!
  • Don't use all caps for e.g., "METHODS OF CREDIT CONTROL", "QUANTITATIVE METHOD" and "QUALITATIVE METHOD" are written in all caps, change them!
  • Take small numbers while taking examples, for e.g., instead of Rs. 1,00,000 you can take 100 which is much small and easily understandable.
  • Describe the diagrams/figures, otherwise it's hard to make out what they mean, for e.g., Bank Rate and CRR diagrams have no mention what they do or mean.
  • To end a section use following code {{-}}

Anu2033, I wanted to thank you for your contributions - they're very good articles, and they'll go on to help a lot of people. Your articles at Credit Control and Partial equilibrium in particular have taught me a lot about economics, especially as it applies to India. Before today, I can honestly say I've never read an economics book - but what you have written has shown me that economics is not quite as boring as I first thought - Thankyou! Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:08, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
