Hi. When you recently edited San Clemente, Ecuador, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Manabí (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Huh. According to my watchlist, he vandalized my page at the exact moment he was blocked. Actually, it says he vandalized it after he was blocked. Weird. Anyways, thanks for the revert. :) — Francophonie&Androphilie(Je vous invite à me parler) 23:21, 10 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Request for clarification

edit

Hello, Angrysockhop. Can you explain this? The user has continued to do the same sort of thing, and several editors have seen it as vandalism. A block is almost certain to come very soon, unless it can be explained how the editing is constructive. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:55, 13 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Certainly. The dispute originated with User:92.251.118.49 adding "freedom speeches", apparently short phrases or exclamations said by winners of the game. I thought he was engaging in vandalism because of the apparent irrelevance and nonsensical structure of his edits, but it was actually a well-meant attempt at adding what the user believed to be relevant content. Were his edits useful, needed, or encyclopedic? Probably not. But they were not vandalism, which is what I accused him of. Angrysockhop (talk to me) 08:39, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for clarifying that. It would have helped if the user had provided edit summaries, or replied to talk page messages to explain the situation. I see that you suggested using edit summaries, but to no avail. JamesBWatson (talk) 17:54, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
